CHAPTER 8 - ROAD TO ALVATERE
Nine days passed since we began our departure.
Within this timeframe I was able to fully analyze and tried my newly discovered skills and surprisingly, all of them have structured arrays.
What's more surprising is that all of them followed my methods of creating Magus Arrays.
That finding alone made me wonder. Did someone other than me had created magic array based skills in the past?
Though it was a thought that kept swimming inside my mind for sometime, still I don't have any proof regarding with this. Maybe I should research more once we arrived at Alvatere.
I heard from mom that Alvatere had a big library. That would be my first priority once we get there.
Back to skills, I've also found out that there were some skills that needed to be unlocked by getting the prerequisite skills in a specified level.
For example, in order for me to unlock and use [Teleportation] I need to get its predecessor skill [Spatiokinesis Mastery] up to three levels.
There are other skills that requires two prerequisite skills for them to be unlocked. Example of this is [Elementalism], which requires two levels up of [Evocation](Etherkinesis) and [Chemokinesis](Scientikinesis).
For someone like me, the temptation to unlock this skills immediately is real. However, I need to take it slow. Rushing things can ruin everything even the most gifted ones.
What I need is patience. And a lot of it.
During our travels, we've been gone through six different countries already. There I saw different kinds of people and their livelihood.
There markets were filled with many things such as jade sculptures, pots and etc. Most of them I've never seen before or doesn't exist in my previous world.
With this travel alone, I've learned a few things.
Even if a person is reincarnated, learning will always be at his or her side.
------
Currently we were just only a few kilometers away from Alvatere.
Inside I was sitting right beside mom while enjoying myself from the view. Sitting on the other side was dad and grandpa, talking with some important matters.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
"Is the situation in Zelmya still in the balance?"
"Yes. The Allied forces are currently engaging the Undead army near the country's border for three consecutive weeks. We never have this kind of attack before. Looks like those living dead creatures were very eager to broke the stalemate. Although we lost a lot of good men and women, many of them were still young..."
After grandpa said that, he stroke his beard while closing his eyes. Maybe he tried to remember the faces of the fresh recruits whom he had train personally.
They were talking about the current situation of the country of Zelmya. It is a country located at the northeast part of Uforan continent. The country also serve as the frontline against the relentless Undead army.
Every year the Undead army would try to break through the Great Wall, the only wall that divides the living's realm from the dead and corrupted lands owned by the enemies.
Because of their location, the country turned to be somewhat militaristic. Almost all of its citizens served the country's army or joined the Alliance's Monster Hunt Squads.
If someone could describe the place, they would say its a gruesome battlefield.
As both mom and I listen to them, our carriage suddenly stopped.
"Is there a problem, Tyel?"
Dad peeked his head at the window as he asked the coachman who happens to be his old friend. Curious, I also took a peek from the window.
"Sorry sir, but it appears that there is a broken carriage blocking the way."
Indeed, there is a broken carriage in front of us and there were some men.
Dad then give glance towards mom and grandpa. Both of them just nodded.
With his sword at his waist, dad went out to look. Grandpa accompanied him as they try to approach the men wearing with black hooded cloaks while mom and I remain inside.
Wary of the situation, I try to focus my attention in front.
At first it seems like the men were friendly people until I noticed one of them, a man with a big and bulky build making furtive glances towards the forest.
In an instant my passive skill [Ethereal Sense] activated. Within the woods, I could sense forty to fifty people hiding.
At that moment, I knew we ran into trouble.
