Yanic awoke to a thud, a slouching slump of a noise. The kind of noise you'd hear if you slammed a bag of wet clothes across a stone floor and dragged them. It was 3A.M., Yanic had to be to work in three hours.
In his groggy state he didn't even question the noise that awoke him, instead reaching for a cup of water he forgot to pour before bed. "yeah that's about right." he mumbled to himself as he stumbled out of bed, he reached forward
to flick the light switch of a lightbulb long gone out that he's been meaning to change for months. *THUD* Yanic, a little more coherent, awake, and aware heard the noise again this time accompanied by what was seemingly a faint, lifeless moan.
both arms seperated from the bone at the elbows, dangling, held on by sinew, dragging across the floor. it's jaw swaying back and forth with each step. it's face completely devoid of all emotion. It's eyes pure white, there were no pupils. A claw hammer was buried in it's chest cavity, a gardening trowel in it's neck. Desperately trying to form words between what was seemingly violent muscle spasms. It was Edith, his 63 year old widowed neighbor. Yanic had known her for a couple years now - but never had more than a five minute conversation all the while. Edith gurggled his name "Yan.." She continued "I'm making a casserole tonight and was wondering if you would like to join me for dinner." Edith lifted what was left of her right arm and posted it on small table knocking a flower vase to the ground causing it to shatter into 5 distinct shards. Edith collapsed to the floor and violently lunged forward towards the broken vase, she bit down on one of the shards gripping it between her teeth filling her mouth with blood. "Yan.." she gurggled. "I think there's something in my teeth."
