2.2 CEO with a Tintin (2)

Feng Mian ran out like her life depended on it. It was the reflex of a prey being hunted by a ferocious predator that made her adrenaline kick in and dash for the backyard. This time, there really was satan chasing after her from the back.

"You ass! Stop right now for this daddy!" Feng Mian could hear him shouting from the back. Hao Junli was almost out of the air, gasping in heavily for oxygen to fuel his shorter feet.

She shouted back, "Then you stop chasing after me!"

This was the one time she was grateful for the male body. The previous host had the fitness of an athlete and his stamina was boundless.

"Coward! You kill me then you run away! Wait till I catch you, you're dead meat!"

Feng Mian screeched into a halt.

Hao Junlin, who didn't have the time to stop, crashed into her and nearly broke his dainty nose from the impact.

He touched the bridge of his sore nose. "Are you crazy? Give a warning before you hit the breaks!"

Feng Mian had her back facing him as she gazed into the distance. Hao Junlin felt irked by the obvious attempt to ignore him.

"Are you ignoring me? Isn't it proper manners to look at the person who's speaking to you? Feng-asshole-Mian, don't you feel like you owe me an apology?"

Feng Mian turned over slowly and Hao Junlin became stunned.

Tears were running down Feng Mian's manly face like water supplied from the reservoir; in endless streams. If it had been her original pretty face, it could have warranted some pity, but on this masculine male lead's face, it became somewhat off-putting.

The words he wanted to say immediately died down in his throat after seeing this kind of Feng Mian. He really was soft to her crying face.

Hao Junli ruffled the tresses of his hair back defeatedly. "Tsk. What are you crying for when I'm the one who's partially dead?... Fine, fine, let's talk properly. Don't cry anymore ah."

In the end, it was the victim who ended up comforting the assailant. Hao Junli stroked her broad-shouldered back with his white slender hands and reassured her.

"There, there, I'm not angry anymore so don't cry. I won't take it to heart since you weren't doing it on purpose. You're already a second-year student but is still a crybaby. Be good, stop crying."

Feng Mian's crying had been reduced to hiccups. She tugged on Hao Junlin's blouse, "Don--Don't be mad Hao Junlin *hic* I was re--really just trying to bake you a cake that day. You can hit me if you're still ang--angry about it, I *hic* won't even be mad if you set my house on fire right now."

There was mirth in Hao Junlin's eyes. "I know. I said I wasn't mad anymore."

Hao Junlin was a person who says what he means, so she knew that he truly isn't angry anymore. She looked at his gentle face that was the size of a palm.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

"How did you become a girl?" she asked him.

Hao Junlin's eyes narrowed, and his brows knitted as he said uncertainly, "I don't know. I remembered wandering into the darkness for a long time, then I felt something pulling onto me. I also saw you, before you were transported into this body. Then I chased after the light that carried you. I became like this when I woke up."

Feng Mian wiped the remainder of her tears with her shirt that was already half soaked by her nonstop crying. "Poor Hao Junlin, you were like this because of me."

"It's alright. I'm sure we'll work something out," he consoled. Because Feng Mian was also transported into the wrong gender, there was a sense of camaraderie that they were in the same boat.

"You even had to marry a fellow male ba."

".........." That bit of camaraderie was gone as soon as it came.

"I wasn't the one married. I came into this body only a few minutes before you did," he explained.

"Yes, yes, I believe you. It's alright Hao Junlin, it doesn't matter who you share your vows with, you are still my good friend who is manlier than ten manly men. On the bright side, at least this Li Xiaocheng isn't too bad looking."

System 555 felt pity for Hao Junlin who was better off not being consoled this way.

Hao Junli's eyes twitched. Feng Mian was obviously thinking he was making things up. He shut her babbling mouth with the palm of his hand

Hao Junlin decided that they should discuss the important matters first. "Do you know what happened to us? How did we become… this?"

Feng Mian nodded. She began to fill in on the events that happened since he was put into a coma, from how she met System 555 including her missions to collect his soul by world-hopping to how the current world was adopted from a romance novel. She pragmatically left out the details from her time in the Tang Dynasty.

Although it sounded unbelievable, Hao Junlin still listened with apt attention. He felt that if they could take over other people's bodies then nothing was impossible in this world.

"I promise to work hard and retrieve your soul shards so you'll wake up as soon as possible," Feng Mian said determinedly.

Hao Junlin rubbed the top of Feng Mian's head. "En, work hard."

He then frowned. "But I'm already awake now. So, isn't your mission already cleared?"

System 555 intervened. "It's a lucky coincidence that Hao Junlin's soul shard in this plane awakened as soon as we arrived, but you've already taken over the body and should fulfil the original host's wish. That's the other half of the mission."

Feng Mian shook her head wryly. "I need to become a billionaire before we can leave."

Hao Junlin's face scrunched up. "You? A billionaire? How?"

A sigh escaped from Feng Mian's lips. "I don't know, but with the original host's talents, it shouldn't be an unachievable thing to accomplish. Probably a matter of time."

"You don't know how to do business."

"I don't, but the original host does. Luckily I inherited his memories. He had a plan set to open new business ventures internationally and had it drafted out, it'll be up to me now to follow up I guess."

Hao Junlin's father was a successful businessman and he knew a bit about entrepreneurship. There were many liabilities and losses at stake. It wasn't just a matter of opening new businesses, you must also have good eyes in investing and buying stocks. These skills take natural instincts for the entrepreneur line and years of experience to hone. He was a bit apprehensive at going into this so suddenly.

"Let's do this step-by-step and take things as they come," he said after deliberating.

Feng Mian gave him a warm smile that had the haziness of an afternoon's reflecting light. At least in this world, there was one person who she could rely on.

"Hao *hic* Junlin ah," she called out quaveringly.

"Hmn?"

"Happy be- *hic* -lated birthday."

Hao Junlin laughed, his eyes sparkling in gaiety.

"Thank you."

The phone in Feng Mian's well-ironed suit pocket rang and it vibrated in a timely manner.

She glimpsed at the ID showing Secretary Rong and pushed up to answer the call.

"... Ah… okay then. You settle it." The call was short and ended with Feng Mian's agreement.

Feng Mian turned to look at Hao Junli.

"Tonight is the company's banquet for fundraising. They said I should have a partner to go with. Hao Junlin… do you have a dress?"
