I'm sorry for any typos I didn't find. Let's begin our adventure.

"Let me guess: bored again?" said Rob instead of greeting.
"How did you find out?"
"You're always bored"
"Truth in that. Anything that could change my state of misery?"
"What would you do if I said Yes?"
"Hmm... jump-hug and kiss you."
"Then I'm not saying"
"Too deep in the joke, bro."
"The arcade got VR equipment, and some games with it."
"I get my wallet and go!"
5 min. later.
There're 5 capsules, 1 permanently out of use (for an unknown reason).
While waiting in the line we're browsing the list of games available.
"They're mostly just extreme sport simulations, not one is newer than 3 years." I said with slight disappointment.
"You call jousting and greatsword-fighting extreme sports?"
"Nowadays they are. No one's life is at stake. "
"Well, you have a point."
"Will you draw or continue your idle talk?" Asked a man out of nowhere.
"How in ..." "Draw what?"
"The lottery. I explained 30 sec. ago."
"Oh right..." He sill obviously had no idea what for, but he drawn a ticket from the box held up in front of him."No luck"
"Then it's my turn." I've drawn and opened mine.

"What exactly did I win?"
"A capsule, with installation, and a year of subscription in Royal Road. Where should I send it?"
I was so surprised that I couldn't give an immediate answer.
"Oh come on!"
"If you repeat it again I'M going to kill you."
"Why? You can't play an MMORPG for longer than a month before getting bored of it."
"That's because of lazy writing, and the unavoidable grinding. But RR is different. It's full of interesting quest. One lifetime is not enough to play it out. The ticket also said that MY retina has been registered."
"Exactly you've only got one year of that."
"Yeah, but it's part of the 'once i have a lot of money' dream of mine."
"What?"
"Already told you about it."
"OOooohHHHh... Thaaat. You're crazy. That's just plain impossible in 1 year."
"Not for me"
"Or that's what you make yourself to believe. Well then, it was good to know you."
"Don't die."
Don't need to say, we were really close to each other.

There was many people in the citadel, bu I didn't care about them. During the tutorial I received all the information I needed for my beginner week. I knew that I should get some work and build up trust with NPCs, and also money and food, but I had no intentions of doing right away. My starting supplies should be enough for at least a couple of days.
So first I went to the training center. There was many people hitting scarecrows with wooden swords, but I think it's stupid. You get the same result with other, not so repetitive, like actual training with a master. That's what I should be going for.
"Good Morning, Master."
"What do you want?" He answered abruptly.
"Training."
"The wooden weapons are on the wall, and there's enough scarecrows for everyone."
"I thought about something more... balanced." I was trying to pierce trough his negligence.
"Like what?"
"Umm... sparring matches."
"Yeah, because those're balanced."
"With restrictions."
"Like what"
"Like... no parry, only dodging, or the reverse, but hey you should be the one to say these!"
"Maybe. If I wast the Master. But I'm not. I'm just a random guy who lies to watch the training." He tried some diversion to evade me, but no luck.
"You have a badge with 'MASTER TRAINER' on it."
"One's off, 99 remaining. Why would I, the Training Master of the Capital of Rosenheim Kingdom, deal with you personally, but not those 500 idiots over there?"
'99? We'll be here for a while.'
"Firstly, I asked you. Secondly, I'm here, they aren't. Thirdly, you were the one to call them idiots.
Fourthly, you're not training them, just leaning to the wall and watching."
"These are all good points, 95 remaining."
'He said that seriously? Oh...'
"Lastly, just watching is probably even more boring than doing it yourself."
"That was a fatal strike. The 90 remaining is not going to be just talking."
"Good." I said. I was right and wrong at the same time.

My task wast to run to the East Gate and back to the training center. It took me an hours to run trough half the city, and all I got was 2 stat points? Still better than hitting scarecrows all day, I thought.
"Now it's time for a little rest. Choose a sword that suits you, then we continue with something else." 'Thank the gods' "In five minutes." Or not.
I deduced that a leaf shaped short sword with a blade length about half meter would do best, because it's agile, easily used with a shield and, if it comes to that, also usable as a kitchen knife. Also it's light, and I was tired.
"Why did you that one?" Asked me the Master after seeing my weapon of choice.
"Because it's well-rounded"
"Except the reach."
"Of course."
"So for someone to efficiently use it either superior speed or a thick shield is required.
"I vote on superior speed." Speed wins over strength, as speed becomes strength. Every idiot knows that.
"Then, speedy-guy, try to hit me!" He was a lvl.200 master trainer, and I was a lvl.1 random guy. Of course I couldn't. At least it was fun. -ish. Still better than hitting a scarecrow all day.

After a hard day of work, I understood, that it's not going to be as easy as I thought. Even Weed needed a couple of months before becoming someone, and he was the prime example of a power gamer. In the end I'm just a regular role player, an after the school year starts, I'll have very limited time to play, but...
"Boy... what's your goal?" asked me the master breaking the my line of thoughts.
"What?"
"Watch them" He pointed at the other trainees, doing their usual routine."They're doing it for the fame and money. But you're not like them. I know it from your movements. What's YOUR goal in Versailles?
"It's really stupid..."
"You're fighting with me. You ARE stupid."
"Well..."
"Well?"
"I want to slay a dragon."
"ARE YOU AN IDIOT??!!??!!"
"You just said I am."
"Yeah, but this's different. Dragons are mythical beings with power on similar level with gods. Their scales're like mirthil, teeth and claws like swords, and their elemental breath destroys all opposition. Also, they can fly, so you'll never catch up to them. Also, no one had the misfortune to see one since the fall of the Empire."
"I know, I know, but since I heard the Dragon's Roar (in KMC media's trailer), I Want to face it head on, charging towards it with my party behind me, and do something no one believed to be possible."
"That's good and all, but..."
"Please, no more difficulties."
"The tank should lead the charge, not the DPS guy."
"Bad joke."
"Good joke. Coming tomorrow too?"
"Yes. Good Bye."
"Don't die."
First day completed. Tomorrow probably I should also get a quest or two.
"Auhgh" I cried out from the pain in my leg."
"Told you not to move." said the master
"I didn't move for at least an hour!"
"Don't speak to me like this!" he sent another kick. "Your countdown won't ever reach zero if you're like thih."
"It's been 1 day'.
"Now, get your sword, it's sparring time."
"Ok,ok."
I took up starting position, and started observing.
"What are you waiting for?!" Master shouted, and attacked me. My limbs was still numb for not moving, and I just barely could parry, bur he didn't stop and quickly. His second slash continued from the first fluently. While trying to back out from the range, message popped up.
Vitality has risen by 1 point (+1 Vit)
Agility has risen by 1 point (+1 AGI)
I was so surprised that I stopped moving for just enough for master's wooden sword to hit me hard.

"A rabbit wouldn't have a hard time killing you. Now get up and continue." That was a serious insult, but I didn't care, as I was occupied with his moment of clarity,
The system rewards hardship, like killing stronger enemies gives more Exp. So increasing difficulty of the training should reward more stats. That's why master makes me change styles often. To not let me get used to one, making it easier.
"No. In the wilderness, you'll experience ambushes of all kinds. It's Important to be able to instantly change into battle mode, regardless of your conditions.
'It's probably his 100th time doing this exactly like this.'
"No, I read your face."
"He, you fell for it! Don't think the old 'read my mind' cliche will work on me."
"......Hahahahaahaha....3 points. Now Continue."
After a while of randomly changing training I got this skill:

I have no idea what to do with this. But, nonetheless it might come to be useful some day.
"Coming tomorrow too?"
"Well, I should go looking for work first." My rye bread was all out, and no one can work hungry.
"Why,"
"Food." I said simply.
"....Well, there's always some work to do in the training hall. Can't promise money, but food, I can get it for you-"

"Thanks. This solved a lot of my problems."
"No problem boy. You'll do work that usually waits for me." Lazy bastard. I start to like him.
"Don't you have some guys to do it?"
"No. In old times, there was always someone like you."
"Then?"
"They flew out, no one came next."
"Why?"
"Dun't ask. I don't know. Now, gather the swords, the sweep up. After that you'll get your dinner in the canteen."
"Where?" As far as I know, the training center had no canteen.
"Palace side door, the left, trough the garden, by the guard barracks, then right... Nah, I'll just lead you there after you're done."
"Thanks, again." In the palace? Lucky day.
Turned out to be no big deal. I ate with the regular guards. Nowhere near the luxurious halls of the main palace, just some practical wooden tables. But much better than rye bread.
And then I started searching a place to sleep. As I had money this meant an out of way place preferably with something over my head. Not as bad as you might think. It's just like camping.
So I was walking in an alley, when I saw something gliding out of my field of view. My fatigue immediately disappeard as smelled adventure. I started following the figure, while trying not to be noticed. The alleyway was dark, all I needed to be carful about is not to make noise. Ding!

That's certainly going to be useful.
Meanwhile, it looks like my target arrived to his destination, a seemingly normal wall. A secret passage, maybe?
I was soon proved right, as a small gap opened in the wall. I was not confident enough to follow the man inside, but at least I wanted to find out how it works. I noticed a hole in the brick wall, that was filled up from the inside.
By carefully examining the place I found it no different from the others. It's masterfully crafted. Must be for somebody who shouldn't be interfered. He also probably deactivates it when not used.
Normal people would have given up right there, but I'm not normal. And I was itching for a great adventure. Part of it was that I was here for two days, and still nothing happened. Well, almost nothing.
"Can I get a day off tomorrow?" I asked my master.
"Right the second day? No."
"I was thinking of looking for a class." It was somewhat true.
"You didn't decide yet? I though you were becoming a warrior. "
"Without a shield?" Warriors are known for their tanky-ness.
"Then a fighter of some sorts."
"I know that much, but exactly what sorts?" He's a master trainer, probably knows the best.
"Yeah, that depends on you. Fine, you're free tomorrow." I had a little hope for a hidden class, but still very good.
Of course I couldn't be waiting for him outside of the hidden pass all day, so I just leaned a small branch to the door, so it will fall when it's opened, and probably break when closed. Then I left for the information agency.
"What may I help you, Sir?" Asked me the assistant of the guild.
"I'd like to take the test of class suitability."
"Of course Sir, this way please." The intelligence guild test provides valuable information of how should you progress in your play-trough, also a chance of discovering a hidden class. The test itself is very simple, all you need to do is to circle answers.
"Well, Sir, the results're interesting."
"Is it a good kind of interesting or..?"
"The kind that makes my job harder. Your result are above average in all categories, but none of them is exceptionally high." The test analysts usually doesn't come with one class absolutely the one for you, but tell you the ones you shouldn't take."Except curiosity, but that doesn't help.
"So... nothing?"
"No clear answer. But I'd recommend you to not to take a pure class, one that only focuses on one style. A mixed class would suit you much better."
"Sooo battlemage kind?"
"No. They are also very focused on damage dealing, just like paladins are on defense. What I'm talking about is a monk or an adventurer."
"That's much better. What are their traits?"
"Monk: Unarmed combat. Boosting their abilities with ki. Later on they advance to either healing type, physical type, or dragon type, witch focuses on elementally charged attacks. They are well rounded fighters, not weak in any category, but they have serious equipment restrictions. Adventurers are the exact opposite. No restrictions, but they need to rely on equipment capabilities. They also require a lot of side-skills, like Repair and Bestow."
"Uh.. that needs consideration. I'd like to walk it out for a bit, Ok?
"Of course, have a good day."
I really need to think about that, but first I'd like to check on the secret passage.
'I have a lucky day.' The stick fell and broke, but didn't roll, so the door probably only opened once. 'Now, or never." I pushed the brick, the door secret door silently opened, and I went in. Someone planted the whole thing with permanent magelights.
The tunnel ended in a small room with wooden walls and velvet lining. 'Who would decorate the end of a secret tunnel.' On the opposite wall I noticed a small opening. I tried to move it. It smoothly slid to reveal high class clothes. 'So it's the fake wardrobe back trick.'
I carefully opened the doors a little bit to see if anyone's outside. I noticed no one, so I stepped out of the wardrobe, not forgetting to pull back the fake back and the clothes.
Then I noticed the decoration on ... basically everything. A seven branch crown. 'I'm in the room of the prince! ... But what is he doing out in the city. A lover? If it's the 'disguised noble blends to the people, so he can understand his people' or 'to get information he can't in the court' I'm going to ... whatever.
Then I heard footsteps closing in. 'Under the bed' I thought. I just managed to jump in, when the door opened. He didn't come near the bed, so I was relieved for a moment. Then I found something else under the bed. From touch it was a hooded robe, similar what I saw yesterday night.
"WHAT THE..." Shouted Karl, the crown prince of the Rosenheim Kingdom himself, out of surprise. I immediately held down his mouth.
"Neither of us wants the guards to come right now, so calm down, will you?" He nodded.
"Who are you?"
"Just a random adventurer, who saw a secret passage, and thought that he could get some rewards off it." He clearly didn't believe me." I don't even have any weapons, see?" He toughly examined me and accepted that I told the truth. Sort of.
"Now I see you don't want to kill me, but then what do you want?"
"As I said earlier, I came for reward. But right now not being punished is good enough for me. You don't talk about me being here and I don't tell anybody about your walks. Deal?"
"...I think so" Suddenly the door opened.
"Hey, son. I was thinking about WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?" Bursted the king out.
"F-father, I can explain."
"Never say 'I can explain'. It just makes things worse." I'm going to be sooooo executed.
"SIT DOWN, BOTH OF YOU!" He's like lvl.150 so I had no choice."First you, who are you?" He pointed at me.
[box border=1 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=3 width=80% bordercolor=#000000 bgcolor=#3f3f3f]You are under the effect of: King's Authority

Told you. No choice. So I talked.
"Son, I'm disappointing."Looks like this game's writers was lazy as well."Why would you do this? We have people for that."
"Because you never tell me the important things."
"he fact that a lvl.1 randomguy discovered you, and that you keep your travel clothes under the bed even though you have your own secret passage, indicates the he's maybe right with that." I couldn't stand the cliche more. I'm dead anyways.
There was a moment of silence. Then the King started laughing.
"Under the bed... that's good." Maybe I'm not that dead.
"But father..."
"He's right you know. You're regularly make small, seemingly minor mistakes in your plans. Like when the maid found your list of contracts while washing your clothes."
"That's an old story." The prince blushed.
"Well then, what's your name, young adventurer?" Asked me the King.
"Indra."
"I'll let you go free if you promise not to distribute rumors about my son."
"I promise."
After I left the royal palace I remembered that I still need to go back to the information agency.
"Welcome back. Did you decide on your class?"
"Not yet. Also I forgot to ask what an Adventurer advances to?"
"Well, that's a complicated matter. Unlike any other class, that gets a quest around lvl.200 to advance, Adventurers just become something else depending on their actions. It's utterly unpredictable."
"So, if I, just in theory, slay a dragon, what will I become?"
"There's no precedent, so I can't know."
"But, would it be awesome?"
"Most certainly, Sir. The rule of the thumb is the more awesome the feat is, the more powerful sub-class you'll become." Okay, that sets the deal.
"Then I will become an Adventurer." Advancement depending on actions means unlimited power.

"So an Adventurer, eh?" Said the master when I told him about my choice.
"Can't say I'm surprised. I've once known someone very similar to you. Well, not the style, but the determination. Also, you'll need a ton of secondary skill to remain alive outside. Looks like I'll need to give you another day off. Probably best right now."
"Thanks, master." I feel like I can't overestimate him.
The next day I went on and get every skill I thought to be useful. I also discovered that if you have a certain set of skills, they morph into one, that lets you raise their levels collectively, but advances slower. I had the choice to leave them separated, but I thought it's a good trade. The 2 set skill I got were:

I also went up 3 levels, because of the little quests I needed to take to get them, but I didn't decide where to put my stat points yet.
I spent the rest of my beginner weeks to train them in an alternating pattern. It would be pretty boring to write all of it down, as it was mostly eventless. Let's skip to one day before my realize from the city.
We were sparring with master. As always, I couldn't even touch him, while I was having a hard time not dying. I needed to be fully on defense, and I only lasted for more than 10 seconds because I had Blessing. Then he suddenly stopped.

"What?" I honestly had no idea what he was talking about.
"You survived 2 minutes against me. With our level gap, that's no little thing. And that took down the last point. Your basic training is complete."
[box border=1 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=3 width=80% bordercolor=#000000 bgcolor=#3f3f3f]Basic Training comleted!
You're now ready for the world.[/box]
"So there's higher level training as well?" That could mean more stat increases.
"Yes, but not here. Today eat, sleep well, then be on your way."
"Thank you for all, Master."
"Gods be with you, Indra."
"You too."
Then I went away. It was somewhat touching. I thought that I was finished with Serabourg, but it seems like Serabourg wasn't finished with me.
"I was ordered to take you." During dinner, a guard came to me.
"Where?"
"Follow me." Well he had the uniform so...
We were going through a labyrinth of corridors, then arrived at an unmarked door.
"Here. I'll wait outside."
"Thank you." I had no idea how to get out of here. I'll definitely need him. I've stepped in and shut the door behind me.
"Welcome. When we parted away, I never thought we would see each other again."Waiting for me was King Karl XIII.
"Me neither."
"Are you not surprise."
"No. Judging from the guard that chance that it was you is 33%. 66% that it's your son. 1% that master made me a good-bye party."
"Well, there's truth in that 1%. I sent to after you receiving Rob's report." Master's name is Rob? Also. report? I didn't know him like this.
"He writes reports?"
"Every now and then." That's more like it."Turns out you became noisy. Many people are talking about you."
"Why? I did'n tell anybody about..."
"Not that. Rob didn't train personally anybody for years."
"Why? I just hat to make him laugh."
"That's harder than you think. And if you received a couple of his special techniques... you could become a major figure in the continent's history"
"He's that big?"
"Even bigger. But we're not here for this." I would be happy to hear some old stories, but a good quest is better than all."I need you to deliver a letter."
"Ok." That's a pretty common quest.
"To Kallamore Kingdom."
"The one with the regular monster invasions?"
"Yes." Well, that makes things more complicated."It contains important diplomatic proposals."
"Let me guess. Royal Marriage." Prince Karl was still single.
"You're sharper than I thought. But not exclusively. It's a many-fold set of agreements, that seeks the weakening of a common enemy."
"Haven Kingdom." I understand now why doesn't send it with a formal envoy. If it's revealed early it can lead to serious problems.
"Yes. We both have interest. With Kallamore's army and our resources, we can definitely win."
"What about our army? I've seen the barrack. They're pretty big."
"Not in comparison. And they're not as experienced as we was blessed with peace for so long. Our army relies mainly on brave adventurers like you. But they tend to do things on their whim, so I can't base plans on them."
"I understand now. But one last question. Why? Peace is generally better than war. You know, economy stuff." The causes are always the most interesting.
"Well, there's a dream on this continent. Everyone's dream my dream. Empire. Of course not me, I' too old for that, also, there's a rising star in the north. But my son, if he learns patience, with 3 kingdoms' strength behind him, one being the integrated Haven Kingdom, maybe he'll be able to do it." Right, that's the stuff the game was advertised with. Empire. Does want. "Well then, will you do it?"
