"You're so close to dying. Give up!"
"Shut up! I gotta beat you today."
Charlie struggles against Mason's prowess. He keeps on being persistent but even that isn't enough. Mason already knew he'd won the match at this moment.
Ding!
Follow by theme music. It's a sign that the game is coming to a conclusion. Mason won the fighting game he is playing with Charlie.
"I told you! They call me the best!" Mason shout while standing up.
"That was lucky. I just missed a few combos. I wanna rematch!" Says the salty Charlie.
"Shut the fuck up! I'm not salty!"
"C'mon, it's my turn," Says Matt in a soft voice.
"Piss off! You're bad at this game."
"Says someone who just lost! You guys fight. Whoever wins will go against me."
"Fine, Matt let's go!"
Mason walks over to Tony, who is lying on the bed, reading a manga.
"Why don't you wanna play Tony?"
"Game's too easy against these dumbasses. I won't be able to win against you. Plus, I'm doing something more important." he says while flipping the page.
"The hell did you say, Tony?! Fight me right now." Charlie shouts while turning around to look at Tony.
"You better pay attention or Matt's gonna beat you"
It is the summer of 2019. Mason and his friends are enjoying their free time before they move on to next semester and finally become high school seniors.
They all have one thing in common; they like to spend time indoors.
"But I'm not a nerd, okay! I do other stuff too like sports or whatever."
"Charlie, you're not supposed to narrate yourself!"
The hot and sunny weather is the perfect setting for them because now, they have an excuse to just stay inside and play video games.
"Lunch is ready! You boys can come down whenever you want to eat!" Mason's mother calls out for them from downstairs.

Mason opens the door to his room and replies, "Okay, we'll be there in a second! You guys wanna go eat?"
"Sure." They all reply.
They all head downstairs to the kitchen. They all discuss what they should do this summer.
Mason then asks, "What do you guys wanna do today? We can't just stay inside the entire day."
"What, why not? It's hot out. Plus, there's nothing better to do." Charlie whines.
"It's unhealthy, dumbass. We're probably gonna get bored in an hour anyway."
"We could hang out at the mall or something," Tony suggests.
"What is there to do at the mall?"
Charlie interrupts "There's an arcade!"
"We're not gonna play games."
"Oh, what about the game cafe?"
"No! We're doing something other than games. Stop being a nerd."
Mason is very annoyed by Charlie, so he decides to just exclude him from the conversation.
"There's that new waterpark place that just opened up. Maybe there?" Tony suggests again.
"Yeah, but it's definitely packed. Also, in this heat? Maybe some other time."
Then, Charlie suggests, "Do you guys wanna go to the convenience store to get slushies?"
"Sounds good. I wanna go!" Matt replies while chewing.
"That's gross! Swallow your food."
"Let's go later, then," Mason says.
Half an hour has passed and they decide to go to the convenience store together. The retail center is within walking distance from their area. They all agree to walk-
"Can't we get a ride? It's so hot."
"It's not even that far. And stop interrupting the narrator, Charlie!"
They all agree to walk to the store so they could save money and exercise, Charlie.
"Fine..."
The road is quiet. There are barely any cars passing by as people decide to just stay indoors for the day due to the hot weather. The sound of cicadas can be heard in the distance.
"Can they shut up?! So loud! And hot!" Charlie shouts in exhaustion.
Mason interrupts Charlie, "Quit whining. It's gonna be worth it once we get there."
"It'd be funny if it's closed for the day."
"Don't say that shit, Tony!"
...
Everyone kept quiet due to the thought of Tony's joke being a possibility.
They start stumbling and walking in the middle of the street. The mood plummets and one by one, they begin to question their decision to go to the retail center.
Charlie starts complaining again, "I'm so tired! How long have we been walking? How far is this store?!"
"Guys, come back to the sidewalk. It's dangerous." with a worried expression on his face, Matt says.
"It'll be fine! There're no cars."
"But still-"
Without them noticing, a car is speeding through the street. In the driver's seat sits a middle-aged man. The car's windows are rolled down. The air conditioner in the car is most likely broken.
Matt notices the car and shouts, "Guys, get out of the way!"
None of them are listening.
"Move! There's a car coming!"
No response...
The car shows no sign of slowing down.
Matt then runs towards them to push them aside, "I said move!"
