15. The Mysterious Wang Hao

With a cunning plan in mind, Xu Ming delved into the Dark Web and stole five fake bank accounts, transferring an impressive sum of one billion yuan into each account from his 20 billion yuan. He then proceeded to create five new MeTube accounts, linking each one to a different bank account.

Although Xu Ming had the capacity to access MeTube and other sites using his private server, he was resolute in making sure that Nexus Xu’s image remained as a good gamer and free from any faults or anomalies as he only wants to transfer black money into his legal bank account. This was the reason why he abstained from creating any hacks or cheats for the game. Despite his proficiency in hacking, he knew that there would always be individuals capable of detecting irregularities during gameplay.

Given the intense competition in the gaming community, Xu Ming anticipated that many detractors would rise against Nexus Xu. He knew that these detractors would inevitably stalk his channel, and there was even the possibility of some rival gaming channels offering a professional to inspect his channel and expose any faults. While such a possibility was remote, Xu Ming was not one to take chances when it came to protecting the integrity of Nexus Xu.

Xu Ming proceeded to open a newly created Metube account and subscribed to his own channel, sending a generous 2000-yuan tip under the guise of "helping him fix his computer". To keep from arousing suspicion, he planned to leave an interval of time between each tip.

Xu Ming then turned his attention to his main plan and hacked into the security cameras of a weapon factory, where he observed the workers going about their business as usual.

Initially he had thought that the authorities will take action against the factory within 2 to 3 days due to the presence of an massive supply of weapons and ammunition, as well as the dangerous materials that posed a significant risk of a catastrophic fire. And if a weapon war broke out, the police would be at a disadvantage and would suffer heavy losses. To avoid such a scenario, a comprehensive plan was necessary to ensure their victory.

As he was preparing to close his computer screen, he noticed a shadowy figure moving stealthily among the machinery and metallic equipment. In the next moment, his screen went black, and Xu Ming realized that the authorities had taken action.

Despite being earlier than he had anticipated, Xu Ming saw this as a positive development. He returned to the dark web and found a news site, which was kind of forum for news from all around the world, where he could post rumors about a powerful hacker helping Daxia country exposing various Dark hideouts. To cover his tracks, he posted the rumors on multiple sites using different backup accounts that he had created earlier.

Next, he targeted a mid-sized news channel on the internet and hacked into its social media accounts. Once he gained access, he posted the same rumor on the channel's page, further spreading the rumors.

As the night drew on and Xu Ming prepared to sleep when his thoughts wandered to the person he had met earlier in the day. Despite not knowing his identity, Xu Ming's analytical mind began to piece together some clues. He deduced that only two departments were present at the collider where their paths crossed - the customer service and logistics departments. Additionally, he noted that the direction the person left in led to the finance department.

Although Xu Ming didn't speak to others, he was always aware of his surroundings and knew everyone in customer service, so he ruled out the possibility of the person being from customer service.

With his mind fixed on the person he had met earlier, Xu Ming decided to investigate further. He accessed his work computer which he had already infected with a virus for such situations, and began hacking into the company's server. Once he gained access to the server, he meticulously scanned through the personnel records of the logistics department but found no trace of the person he was searching for.

With his photographic memory, Xu Ming knew he would have recognized the person if he worked there. He then proceeded to the finance department and found the person he had been looking for.

He went by the name Wang Hao. He was 27 years old, single, and worked in the finance department as the Treasury Manager [1]. Even though he has plain and average features like a slightly crooked nose and small, wide-set eyes, he has slightly fair skin that goes well with his plain brown hair, which is styled in a messy mop on top of his head. He has a light beard, which makes him look ordinary.

Xu Ming got Wang Hao's contact information, like his address and national identification number, from the company server. This helped him find out about Wang Hao's family. Wang Hao was the only one left in his family. His mother passed away while giving birth to his younger brother, his father died to an illness, and his brother disappeared without a trace.

During further investigation, Xu Ming discovered that Wang Hao's father owned a piece of property worth one million yuan, but he had died without leaving a will, thus the land was going to be divided between the two brothers as they also had no other relatives. Unfortunately, Wang Hao's brother vanished barely two days after his father's death, leaving the inheritance distribution uncertain.

And the inheritance rules of this country state that if one sibling disappears prior to the distribution of an inheritance, the surviving siblings and the missing sibling's offspring will receive a portion of the inheritance two years after the sibling's disappearance if there is no will.

As Xu Ming observed the case being closed due to lack of evidence, he couldn't help but feel frustrated at the apparent conclusion. The truth was clear as day - Wang Hao had undoubtedly killed his brother and buried him. With the sight of how effortlessly the case had been closed, Xu Ming could not help but feel a feeling of unfairness, thinking to himself, "If it had been me, I would have already been behind bars."
