[Combat mode active. Status report: Minor damage received to bone structure in several locations due to high altitude jump, do you wish to activate Rejuvenation on automatic mode?]
Do it.
A minor discomfort I had vanished away. Well, I see that even with metal legs there are some parts of me that still work humanlike.
I see around me and find at least ten four legged beasts, growling like hungry dogs. They truly are similar to wolves, the reports didn’t lie, although they failed to mention the disturbing part of them having a meter-long viperine tongue and distensible jaws. Nightmare stuff, really.
But, looking at the bloody mess at my feet, and the corpses all around the area, I can safely assume they are more scary than resilient.
I have questions, the people of the colony surely have questions, and the rest of the Sleipnir’s team who are also here looking at me probably know who i am probably have questions as well. I hope Lai and Novak get here fast, because i’m gonna be busy for a bit.
“You” I say to the colonist that asked before, without taking my eyes off the surrounding wolves.
“I’ll help you here, so deal with any stragglers”
I take out the Overlord gun with my left hand, and with my right hand I take out the wrist blade, which comes out fast.
As soon as I take a step forward, the wolves, in a superb show of coordination, leap off the ground simultaneously.
The first one to reach me comes from my right, and I dash to the opposite side, turning my body mid-dash and pointing the gun to its ugly head. A single shot opens a hole in it’s skull, and using the same movement, I make a complete 360° spin, pointing the wrist blade diagonally, and I feel some resistance which fades in a moment, and the head of another beast falls to the ground.

What follows is a bloodbath.
The rest of the wolves were already on its way to chomp me, and I finally got to test if these metal limbs were gonna slow me down. The contrary, i feel like i’ve become a murder machine. My reaction is faster, my strength is greater, and my senses are sharper.
Maw after maw comes close to my face, but every one of those drops, it’s owner either with a hole in the head or a blade in its throat.
After just a few seconds, the ten original wolves are dead, and double that are rushing down to continue the show.
Come, faster!
The adrenaline is like a drug, it feels great. I realize i needed this since i had that encounter with the rachnids, where my body couldn’t go further than my willpower. I want to just tear every single one to shreds, rachnids and this wolflike beasts.
The next creature that comes close is cut down in half with a swift movement of my hand, and I start running to the closest one, while shooting the rest of them.
I feel claws and teeth scratching and tearing at my skin, but I manage to kill them all before there’s anything to slow me down. When a group of three is ready to attack at the same time, I look directly at them, which paralyzes them for an instant, which is all it takes to blow one’s head and decapitate the other two.
Eye of Dominion feels like something made specifically for me, the use feels so natural, like I've done this for a lifetime.
As i feel myself getting carried away by the feeling of battle, I manage to notice that I've been steadily advancing towards the creatures, and that there’s more and more, each one more rabid than the other.
[Rejuvenation capacity at maximum, suggesting retreat]
The moment I hear Hallie’s voice, one of the creatures manages to bite my left hand, blocking me from using the Overlord to defend. Those distensible jaws are really powerful, i feel like my hand got stuck beneath a fucking spaceship!
Hallie! Discharge, now!
An electrical current flows from inside my body and electrocutes the beast, after which it falls to the ground immobile, allowing me to shoot its head off. When I notice that my hand has teeth holes in it, even with Rejuvenation’s healing, I just holster the gun. I’m gonna have to reload soon and I won't have enough time to do that uninterrupted, besides I can hardly pull the trigger right now, my index finger is almost torn off.
It hurts like hell, but the desire to continue pushes me to ignore it as much as I can. There’s also the aftereffect of the skill I just used. The feeling after the discharge is weird, but not painful, really hard to explain, like a colony of ants moving through your veins I guess.
Another couple of wolves jump at me from behind, but thanks to Hallie’s magnificent targeting function, I get a couple of indicators showing me that there are two hostile targets moving in close proximity. I can’t see them but knowing they are there is enough.
I turn around as I deploy the mantis blade, and it passes right through them. One’s half skull falls to the floor, and the other thrashes around with it’s snout missing, and it collapses shortly after.
Glancing at the incoming wave, I just can't help but smile.
Let’s fucking go!
