They made it to the river as they scour the surroundings in hopes of any environmental backing. “This river is pretty fast, and it looks deep. Maybe we could use it.” says Kay as he kneels down next to it peering through the water. “Yeah, and look there, there’s a ton of popila bushes growing along the river.”,
“You thinking what I’m thinking?”, says Kay.
“Yeah, I’ll lead it through the popila which should slightly paralyze him when he touches it and then you shoot him with a few arrows slowing him down further and I’ll push him into the water making the river do the rest of the work for us.” Ven winked at Kay sending him two thumbs up.. Kay's hand was immediately directed to his face as the realization hit him, “That’s so cheap.”
Ven cut in protecting his pride, “Hey! Mr. I’m nervous, why don’t you think of a better plan that’ll succeed.”
“Fine, whatever.” Kay sighed as he stood back up surveying for a good vantage point to fire his arrows from.
“There are a few trees I could climb up from, options are good. Let’s continue walking along the river. We should run into it if we cover more ground.”
“Sounds good”, Ven says with more resolve casted among their spirits. They made their way through the rocks along the river bed as time passed by. “Man, when is it going to show up? It's already noon.” says Ven with a tired expression as he swings his arms around attempting to stretch them.
“Well, you could always go swimming.” ,Kay says with a menacing smile. “No way in hell am I going to swim, and stop bringing it up, me and water just don’t match.”
“Match, that’s putting it lightly, you should just learn to swim already.”
“What are you my mom?” Ven says as he speeds up to distance himself from Kay. “No, but I’m the best you got.”, as he matches Ven’s pace. The wind stops in that moment and the harmony of life around the forest all but dies down. The boys pause in their tracks as a shadow looms over them from behind. All the instant fear kicked in as adrenaline as they both swiftly turned behind them to see a large grotesque figure standing before them. It must have stood ten feet tall with arms that were like a gorillas’ in strength and saber tusks rivaling that of a wild elephant.

It’s eyes resembled that of a serpent locking it’s prey. In that split moment they both bolted straight to the vegetation hoping to block it from following them in.
“THAT’S WAY BIGGER THAN A NORMAL GOBLIN!” Kay yelled out with nothing but pure anxiety talking.
“Shit, what do we do!”, yelled Ven.
“Like hell if I would know!” They struggled to talk as they ran as fast as possible, diving and jumping through the forest. The huge steps taken by the goblin shook the ground making it harder for them to run through what seemed to feel like earthquakes.
They glanced behind them as they saw the goblin step over the trees crushing them in his path as what looked similar to a person stepping on sticks. “This is no use, we have to do something or he’ll catch up!”
“What do you suggest we do, oh great one!?”Kay struggled saying as almost tripping on a tree root. “We do what we planned from the beginning!” “But that won't work if he’s this huge!”
“It’s the best plan we got!” Ven said as a huge rock flew past him caused by the giant kicking it in his motions. Ven’s eyes widened from shock at the realization of it almost hitting him. “Fine!” Kay said, understanding their helplessness at this moment.
“Follow me!”, Ven said as he made a sharp right using the branches to help between corners. They made their way diagonally back to the river. Ven spotted a bed of popila bushes alongside the river in the distance. “Kay go to a high place, try to hit it in the head or something!”
“I’ll try!” They split up as Ven continues on straight to the bed. The Goblin inched closer to them taking Ven’s direction as Kay hid behind the rocks for cover. It’s large arm spread out reaching over to Ven in an attempt to grab him. The hand closed in inches from him in what seemed to be all but certain death. Ven closed his eyes and whispered to himself with tears rolling across his face. “God, save me.”
In that instance a gust of wind with the force of a hurricane blew the goblin back a few steps and slowed it’s pace down.
Ven reached the popila running perfectly parallel to them all but a few inches from them. The giant’s left leg stomped right on top of them, taking a number of three steps before forcing it to take a knee. Ven took a breather to relieve his almost depleted stamina. “How the hell am I supposed to push it into the river?” The Goblin’s eyes focused back on Ven appearing to be full of anger and malice. It stood back up making the effects of the plant seem nothing but temporary.
