Part1: A Dark Future Lies Ahead!
My adventure began the day I've left my noble status in the ashes to chase my dream, my dream is to become a true adventurer and explore this world without being confined by my status.
Before the day of my departure, I've told father and mother that I am leaving the family to go out into the world, father didn't take my claims lightly and at that point we began arguing. Insult after insult, reason after reason, at a certain point, father had forbiden me to leave the mansion grounds, all mother did at that dinner table was stare at me, without saying a word, no, she didn't need to say anything as her stare described RESENTMENT. Midway of arguing with my father, I've left the dinner table and headed for my room, once I was in, I heard my door lock.
*click*
»Of course.«
I thought to myself, they wouldn't want me leaving after that kind of stuff happening. Unlucky for them, I've planned ahead and made sure one of my buttlers came to my door at exactly midnight. Before that I had to pack my stuff into a carrybag, while packing up my items I look at the clock.
*Time: 11:40PM*
I have plenty of time, I reached for my True Adventurers book, I tripped and knocked a number of books on top of me. Once I saw the mess I also spotted a particular black stone amid the books, I reach for it and pick it up, the instant I had touched it, the stone started pulsing in a red color aswell as a burning sensation on my palm began, the burning sensation made me scream in pain. The stone suddenly stopped pulsing and the pain went away, leaving me with a nasty burn mark. While I am wrapping my hand in bandages I take a quick glampse at the clock.
*Time: 00:05AM*
At that same moment I heard my door unlock, I quickly stood up and threw this mysterious rock into my bag.
»Sir, are you ready for departure?«
I quickly rushed past the buttler so that he didn't notice my hand.
»You'r ride to the airship docks is prepared.«
As I quickly rushed downstairs and out into the courtyard, there he was, my father.
»Xivi! STOP THIS NONSENSE! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE GETTING YOURSELF INTO!«
I just stood there at that moment, giving him the stare of pure hatred.
*sigh*
»If you won't listen to reason, then I'll use force.«
My own father drew his sword on his son just to prevent him from leaving.
»How about this? If you beat me in a dual you may leave. HOWEVER! If you lose you will dedicate your life to our family bussiness!«
I dropped my carrybag, it was partially opened and saw the stone pulsing again, this time without my own touch. I felt like my body was warming up rapidly. Father tossed me a sword and we began the duel. Our swords colided a number of times, I've been on the loosing side, then as I was knocked down on the dirty ground, time had slowed down and I've felt immense power surging through my veins, that's when I swung my sword at my fathers.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
*crack*
*shatter*
I've seen my fathers sword shatter in half, after that I pointed my sword at his throat.
»I win Father.«
As he looked at me in shock of what I did, I hid my emotion of it aswell, making myself look like I've been aware of this ability for a while.
»Now, you will let me leave, just like we agreed.«
*5 Minutes Later*
Just before I took off in the carriage he told me the following.
»Beware of that power you possess, it has killed your grandfather in the past.«
Before I could ask any question the carriage started leaving and even after asking him question on my way out, he refused to answer.
*1 Hour Later*
Because of the delay with my father, the airship I had reserved had already left, that made me wait for it's arrival back.
*3 Hours Later*
It was almost morning, that's when a energetic adventurer approached me.
»You look oddly familiar, have we met?«
I refused to look him in the eyes and denying his claim, somehow he remembered who I was.
»W-Wait! You're from th-that royal family! Din-«
I quickly put my hand on his mouth preventing him to say my last name.
»Ahh, I see. Don't worry then, I won't give out who you really are.«
This person proceeded to sit next to me and he just started introducing himself.
»Sorry for that. By the way, my name is Mavis Lodge, you can call me Mavis or Mav for short.«
Since he introduced himself it would be rude for me not to.
»Alright. I'm Xivi«
As we were having a conversation something popped into my mind.
» Are you an adventurer by any chance?«
Mavis looked at me with excitement.
»You know it! One of the best in fact!«
I shook off his last part as he was probably self praising himself.
»What about you? What are you doing here by yourself?«
As I lean back on my chair and look at him.
»I'm a new adventurer.«
The first thing he told me at that moment surprised the hell out of me.
»I've got a idea! Join my guild! There a ton of people in it! New and old!«
To me that just sounded like some self advertising promotion, but since I was knew I figured that having a helping hand at the start would make things easier for myself. Midway through our conversation we had to part ways, his airship arrived and he left to a small region called Ramstone. For myself, I was heading for Hagtooth Ridge, a prime location for new adventures.
*2 Days Later*
»I've finally reached it! Rei's Adventurers house in Hagtooth Ridge!«
The place was populated with new adventurers and Rei's Inn was hosted by high elves, while sitting at a table writing down the description of the high elves appearance, my name was called out. The moment I got to the desk, they started asking me questions, many, many questions, questions about my past life, what I want to become and many more. After that session was over, I had to sign my name onto a sheet of paper with my own blood. I hesitated for a moment for I have never inflicted self harm but...
*slice*
Once I signed my name onto the paper, letters and numbers appeared, displaying my current stats. I was dissapointed nontheless (Visit 2nd page for stats), the results that I had gotten in physical and magical points were considered below average. While looking through the stats I had noticed that my points in Mind were drastically higher than any new adventurer, the elf spotted it and pointed it out to me.
»Wow! We've don't get this many new adventurers at the start, having such high mind points is astonishing. Since you're a bit exceptional, I'm going to leave you with a hint, don't get too cocky because of those points or you might just end up losing your life.«
The elf then stamped the paper and at that moment I was officially declared an adventurer. One thing I noticed just as she was putting the form away, was that my guild name spot was empty.
»Excuse me, 2 days ago I was invited into a guild but the name is not displaying in the form.«
She looked at me with a smirk.
*chuckling*
»Oh you idiot, everyone knows you can't accept a guild invite if you aren't officially a adventurer.«
At that exact moment I recalled the words I've told to Mavis that day, I've had told him that I was a adventurer instead of will be one. There was no use in panicking over that as I could just join another guild at some point, so I just brushed that thought away. Just as I stepped outside the door of the inn I took a deep breath.
*Breathes in*
*Breathes out*
»Finally, my noble life was left in the dust and now I can focus on being a adventurer.«
