Sun and Moon

Sun and Moon

Sun and Moon

Centuries ago, there was a man who sought to bring about a great discovery… but brought about his demise for the descendants of the land. What he discovered would destroy the very peace and balance of the world, but this did not start from him, no this started from above.

A few years before this “man” came into the story….

The sun and the moon were both things that brought balance to the world. Without them, we would never know when to sleep and when to work or do other activities. In the daytime the sun would see the people of the day go about their lives, the children would play while the adults would gossip or work. In the night, however, the moon would witness the most heinous crimes of the shadows. The moon was disgusted by what humans do at night, it thought “This is the true essence of a human” It felt saddened by this realization, and he wept. As he wept a teardrop that was like blood yet distinct fell from the moon and landed in the soil of the earth.

Months went by, and the moon kept witnessing the atrocities of mankind, while the the sun saw the beauty of mankind. With the months going by a womb started to appear in the soil a red glow started to emit from it. An aura that felt “demonic” something not of a human. What emerged 9 months later was a monster with sharp teeth, fur like a wolf, and long ears, but the face of a human.

The moon was intrigued by this new creature.

It watched for months as it hunted, terrorized, and killed the humans.

“Have you heard of the disappearance of Violet's husband?”

“Yeah, she said he went out to the woods to get some Firewood for the night but…. never came back”

“Gosh these incidents keep happening”

“I know this started a few months ago, I just hope the government starts to investigate what’s going on”

“Yeah, it’s getting out of hand”

As the humans talked and theorized about what could have happened to these people. The sun was also curious about the affairs of the night.

Darkness had fallen again, like any other night but this night was different, this was a night that would change the course of humanity.

But before that…

We follow the story of Karl Von Darwin of the Darwin family, a very distinguished family with a line of geniuses and scientists. His goal is to make a huge discovery and to be written in history as a very intellectual man.

This is the beginning of the turning point…..

As I look out of the carriage I see the bustling city of Beelzebub.

*Finally I’m here*

We finally make it to the gate before being stopped by a guard.

“Hey, hold it right there”

My driver starts to shake, I have no idea why his shaking it's just the usual search. The guard started to walk toward my carriage and knocked on the door.

“I’ll need whoever’s in there to step out please, this is just a mandatory search”

I can hear him chuckling from beyond the door.

“Alright” I reply

When I step out I see a man not much older than me, about 23 with broad shoulders, brown short hair, green eyes, rusty armor, and a spear.

“Could I ask why you’re searching our carriage?” I ask while pointing to my family's crest on my carriage.

He smirks “I understand you’re from a very famous family but fame doesn’t matter here, honesty and equality do”

I stare deep into his eyes “I understand, how long will this take?”

He starts to stare into the sky to come up with an imaginary number.

“About 15 minutes” he answers

“That’s too long” I snap back

“Alright since you’re from a distinguished family I’ll make it 10 minutes”

*What happened to “Honesty and Equality”

you idiot*

“Fine make it quick” I finally yield

“Will do”

<10 minutes later>

“Alright your good to go”

I can clearly see he took some items from my luggage, but I don’t pay much mind to it.

“Thank you”

I checked to see if he had taken anything important, and to my relief, all he took was 3 silver coins. I squeeze my pocket watch, it was handed to me by my late father. I reminisce about the times when I would visit his lab and watch him work.

He was a smart and powerful man, yet he was the most gentle man I could think of.

I hope you’re doing well up there.

My carriage finally arrives at the place where I will be staying to further my education and career.

“ We’re here young master”

I smile “Thank you for everything, tell Mother hello for me she must be worried”

We shake hands.

“I’ll do that,” he says as he gets back on the horse.

*His a timid man, but his a man with a golden heart he stuck it out with us through thick and thin when my father passed*

I talk to the lady at the reception table and tell her what room I’ll be staying in, she hands me my keys and points me in the direction of my room.

I thank her and walk towards my room, as I’m about to reach my room I overhear two men discussing something.

“Man, it’s getting worse and worse as the days go on”

“Tell me about it, more people keep on disappearing”

“Even the Griffth Agency has lost two detectives trying to figure out what's going on”

“When do you think the government will step in and issue an order to the Guild”

“It might take awhile I don’t think they understand the severity of the situation”

“THOSE FAT SONS OF-”

“Keep your voice down”

“I’m sorry it pisses me off that we can’t do much without that order”

“If only we could step in these innocent civilians wouldn’t have to die”

“You don’t know if they died?”

“Oh yea that’s right you haven’t heard”

“Heard what?”

“You just came back from hunting this week”

“They found the body of an old woman this morning down by the lake, she….

Had no blood in her body and her head was torn off”

“...”

“I just wished we could step in”

That was a depressing discussion….

It makes sense though, from what I heard they can’t do much without an order from the government the guild doesn’t have much power.

They're just an army disguised as adventures. Almost a century ago a great king thought that the army was a bit intimidating for the contrary and made them uncomfortable. (The king's name has been erased from history)

He was right.

The low-rank soldiers were petty thieves who would patronize the civilians, the king saw this as a problem but he couldn't quite find a source of power to replace the army with.

As the years went on a Guild was starting to make waves in the empire.

The king took this as an opportunity to replace the army with the guild, after years of struggling he finally managed to replace them but due to pushback from the Senate, it had a lot of drawbacks.

But even with these drawbacks, it was a lot safer with the Guild because it was a bunch of young adventures who just wanted to do what was right.

*Now that I think about it this might be the key*

*The key to a great discovery!*
