Chapter 17 - Transcended [2]

Chapter 17 - Transcended [2]

Cursed World, the world cursed by gods.

It had three continents, namely, North, East, and Western continent.

In the Blessed Epoch, the northern continent was ruled by the Kingdom of Dawn.

Unfortunately, once the world was abandoned, the everlasting glory of the kingdom was extinguished.

Overwhelmed by the war, enemies, and darkness, the kingdom fell.

However, even though the Kingdom of Dawn fell, its legacy lived on.

Among those were many organizations, beliefs, studies of magic and Fate, and even bloodlines of many powerful people.

The secret organization that the ruler of the Kingdom of Dawn was part of was called Transcended.

"And you say that I am part of that organization?" Aster asked the bearded man. The bearded man's name was Oliver, and he was one of the few survivors from the surrounding temples.

"Yes, I am certain. I have an item that can sense a person's aura, and I am sure that you carry the aura that a member of Transcended has." Oliver glared at Aster. He looked as if he wanted to tear Aster to shreds, even if it cost him his life.

"And why is that?" Ash asked curiously from the side.

"As if I know," Oliver said. "All I know is that he has to die, or the world will end."

"Actually, you may be a member of that faction as well." Oliver narrowed his eyes once he realized that possibility.

"Oh, I am quite curious if I am." Ash chuckled. "Can you check?"

Oliver was tied with a rope. His clothes were torn. He looked like a homeless man who was caught red-handed.

But his rage and determination clearly distinguished him as a capable individual.

"I can," Oliver answered.

"Alright." Ash approached him, casually untying his rope.

"Wait." Aster looked at Ash. He stood up, although painfully. He wasn't sure why, but for some reason, his injury was quickly healing. 'Maybe it's because I am almost an apprentice.'

"He'll attack us again if you untie him so easily," Aster said.

"Oh, don't worry, he won't dare." Ash chuckled.

He untied the rope. Oliver immediately took out an item from his pocket, pointing it at Ash.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

It glowed.

Oliver narrowed his eyes, but the moment Ash made eye contact, Oliver only lowered his head.

"You wanted to attack me just now?" Ash grinned.

"I wouldn't dare." Oliver quietly muttered. 'He is so strong, who'd be crazy enough to attack him. No wonder he is also a member of the Transcended.'

"So, what's the result?" Ash asked.

"Positive. You also carry an aura of Transcended." Oliver replied with his head still lowered.

"Oh, how fun. I joined an organization I didn't even know of." Ash laughed.

Even Aster couldn't help but smirk at the funny situation.

However, Aster knew things those two didn't.

Transcended was mentioned by Zoroaster. In other words, Aster may have had a karmic connection with it through the Zoroaster's manual. 'I am probably wrong, but at least I know that it makes sense that I am connected to them. How is Asher connected, though?

Aster approached Oliver, snatching the radar from him. The item looked like a mobile phone that was supposed to light up when it sensed something.

And indeed, once Aster took it in his hands, it lit up.

He approached Ash, scanning him. The radar lit up even more in some places.

'Something in his pocket?' Aster wondered. 'The coin! The coin is connected to the Transcended.'

Aster turned towards Oliver.

"What do you know about Transcended? How did you learn about them? And why will the world end if the members of Transcended are alive?"

"It's because..." Oliver looked Aster in the eyes. "It's because I say so."

Slap.

Aster didn't even hesitate to slap him.

He hated Oliver as much as Oliver hated him.

After all, Aster was stabbed because of Oliver's irrational hate.

"Answer the question." Aster seethed.

"I won't." Oliver gritted his teeth. "You can kill me, but I won't ever help the members of Transcended."

"He's a fanatic." Ash shook his head. "Whatever he knows, seems like he believes we are equal to devils."

"Yeah." Aster nodded. With another slap, he left the room.

"Thank you for helping me, Ash." He said.

"No problem. Will you let me keep the coin as compensation?" Ash asked Aster.

"No way, give it to me," Aster replied.

With a reluctant expression, Ash threw the coin at Aster.

"Hmm... how does it work?" Aster wondered, flipping the coin.

"Head."

The coin landed on head.

"Oh, lucky." He grinned. He could feel something connecting him to the coin.

His very existence had connected to the coin. 'Interesting.'

Flipping it, Aster called out again. "Head."

It was tails.

Aster could feel the connection being cut off. Something changed, but he didn't know what.

"I thought it would always land on what I call out." He grumbled.

"Nah, it depends on luck. That's why it's perfect for me. It lands on what I call out, not on what you call out." Ash laughed.

'Damn System. Why didn't it give me something more useful.' Aster shook his head.

He knew that, in the middle of the battle, flipping the coin over a hundred times just to get the combination he wanted was impossible.

Even worse, Aster didn't know if the coin only counted the first try.

"Anyway, I am off." Aster left.

He activated Zoroaster's Way Of Magic, cycling mana inside himself and enhancing his body.

Surprisingly, it worked well. Aster could feel himself healing faster.

'I am so glad I have twenty meridians opened. I doubt that it's possible to heal oneself if you don't have all twenty opened.' Aster concluded after observing himself.

He left the room, arriving in a busy corridor.

Usually, he would have seen many people depressed, maybe even a corpse of a suicidal person, but now, all he saw were happy and excited faces.

"So they learned that we found the exit."

Aster turned around, feeling a powerful presence approaching.

It was Nyle.

"Hey Aster, what's going on?" Nyle's smile made Aster cringe.

'What's with the damn smile? Didn't Boar just die when he went together with you?' Aster wanted to slap Nyle so badly, but he knew that it was a hard task.

Especially now that he was injured.

"What about the traitor? You owe me an explanation." Aster gritted his teeth once Nyle approached.
