My life was a pretty normal until I turned 14. I grew up the only son of two doting parents who cherished me. I achieved better than average grades in school and was recognized as someone trust worthy. I had few hobbies to speak of but that just left with more time to apply myself to my studies. But that ended that ended the spring after I turned 14.

That spring was the time for my yearly appointment at the doctors. As I sat in the doctors office the doctor walked in with sour look on her face and told me to go out and bring my mother back to the office. I did as she asked wondering what she needed my mother for. When we both sat down the doctor, with a face so pale that made her look like she had spoken with Death itself, gave me and my family news that would change our lives. I had been diagnosed with a severe genetic disorder and had at most 6 months to live.

After hearing that news I fell into a state of depression that I didn't come out of for a whole month. Having come out my room with a new outlook on life I decided live the small amount of time I had left in normalcy so as to not let any of my friends and relatives worry.

I continued that way for three months until one day I was hit by a car and completely paralyzed, all I could do was look around see that I was in hospital room with my mother crying in a corner being held by my father with a look of anguish on his face. So I closed my eyes and never opened them again until I felt a warmth embrace me and a kindly voice.
