Like any other magician, I continue to search for ways to improve my magic. Even with the title Arcane God under my belt, I still seek more knowledge in the field of the arcane. And now, after centuries of research, I will attempt something no human has tried before – true reincarnation. Indeed, I will enter the realm of the dead only to escape and live once more.
You may be wondering why I want to reincarnate when I’m practically immune to death by aging due to my immense magical power. The reason is simple: I wish to replace my magic veins with the magic core of the Dragon God – I killed it by the way – to further increase my strength. As you’ve guessed, it would require what I’ll be doing now.
The process starts with my death, initializing my cycle of reincarnation. By then I would have no control. It’s up to the devil hiding within me to protect my memories as my soul is cleansed. Afterward, she will wait for me to enter a new body then slowly fuse the magic core to my system. With my magic still yet to awaken, my infant body should accept the magic core easily; or at least better than my current body. It’s not certain that it would work, but I’m willing to take the risk.
If I fail then that just means I’m not worthy. Besides, I’ve lived far longer than most of my race and I’ve accomplished many things. I’m already content with my life. My attempt for more power is just an extra. I would like it to succeed though.

“Ok, it’s time.” I uttered, earning me a reply from a certain devil.
[Kill yourself already.]
Mirelia Astrah, the last of the Nevan Devils and a major key to my plan. How I got her participation? We had a deal. I killed the Devil God – the cause of her tribe’s extinction – so now she’ll help me. I don’t fully trust her so I also used a contract empowered by fate magic. As long as I do my part, it’d force her to do hers. Since the life of a great deity was involved, it’d be impossible for her to resist it. Even I would have a hard time against such a powerful contract.
I sat on my favorite chair and looked at the result of my efforts. Books, scrolls, magical items, everything in the room were my treasure. “I wonder how long it would take me to return here.” As I spoke, images of the past flooded my head.
My road didn’t just revolve around magic. Enemies, allies, friends, and a lover; as a human, I believe I was able to live my life to its fullest.
A smile appeared on my face as I remembered my time with the woman I loved. Thinking about it now, she was the reason why I became a magician. She was born sickly and wouldn’t have lived past twenty so I tried my best at magic in hopes of curing her. In the end I only extended her life for a decade, but I managed to make her happy.
She left with a smile, so I will too.
Before Mirelia could complain, I closed my eyes and cast a spell, one that instantly crushed my heart and brain. It wasn’t the first time I died physically, but with no magic to place my soul back, I finally drifted to the world of the deceased.
Next time I opened my eyes, I was in a new body…
A female body named Shiina Aizawa.
