5. The Club President is a Looker!

"We'll stop here for today."

"Finally..."

"Thank you, teacher."

"Where are you planning to go today?"

"Teacher about the homework...."

"Hey Yoshida, don't give me the cold shoulder."

Students started barging out of the classroom, some planning to spend their time in idle chats in cozy cafes while some still concerned about the upcoming tests. Since the rest of school had already got to their clubs which made the noisy bunch even noisier with the reverberrations of the empty corridors and hallways.

I was in quite a hurry. I didn't expect the class to run this late, coincidentally on my first day at the literature club. Thinking of some excuses I ran as fast as I could. My stiff muscles weren't synchronizing as per my desired speed. At that moment, I regretted not doing any cardio since first grade. My hair was dishevelled and slightly wet. The torrential rain outside nullified the voices of my hasty steps and heavy panting. The ID card hung on my neck shook violently. It collided against the metal belt producing a sound that was similar to a knife cutting vegetables on a plastic cutting board.

Shaaaa- {sfx}

The ground floor, the first floor, the second floor and the...third floor.

To the the left was a dull brown door, labelled as 'The Literature Club.' I coughed lightly, calming myself down. I reached out to push open the door. However, as I clasped the door's handle, it was rotated by someone on the other side and pulled open. This time I didn't have to lower my head to meet this person's gaze.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

I could see them. Very vividly. Right in front of me.

Deep ebony eyes, thick long lashes, seemingly drawn by a skilled artist's brush.

How should I put it...There were just too pretty, so pretty that I subconciously held my breath. I got so mesmerized by them and was in such an awe that I failed to even look at this person entirely and realize that they were saying something to me. The build of this person was still smaller than me and their face-

Swoosh! {sfx}

The face drew closer. I got startled by this action and reflexively stepped back, finally hearing the words said by this person.

"Your complexion doesn't look good. Woah...your face is very red, did you run all the way here? It also seems like you got wet in the rain. My my, get inside first." I followed this person to the club room in a daze.

"I suppose you are the person I inconvenienced. Izumi Fujita? Did I get that right?"

"Ah? Yes, how do?..." Turning off the air-conditioner, she motioned me to have a seat. The way she walked over, pulled the chair, had a seat herself. Every single movement was dignified and graceful. Her diposition well mannered, never letting her composure loose. The fans in the club room made a creaking noise somewhat annoying to a point. The tea cup was slid to me by her long, slender fingers.

"How do I know your name? Well, that's because I'm the club president here." The reply was found to be within my expectations.The reason was that I found this pretty face a bit familiar.

I stood up immediately and made my greetings. I was extremely nervous, the revelation was enough to snap me out of my daze.

"Pfft...you don't need to be so formal. Hah, it's good to have an adorable junior to help out with the club. Would you like to have some ginger tea? It's still warm."

"Yes, thank you. May I know your name?" She glanced at me with a peaceful countenance.

"Right, How careless of me! I'm Jiang Wei, third year. I'm a foreign exchange student and this is my second year of being the literature club's president. It's nice to have you here." She responded smiling radiantly.

- It was like, the sudden encounter at the opening ceremony was replaying yet again in this club room. Everyone had their summer uniforms on and the cherry blossoms were withering away

"Little Miss, would you like to join the literature club?" -

"Wei-san,"

"Yes?"

"This ginger tea is really delicious."

"I'll pour you another cup if you want. No need to feel shy, Izumi."
