???'s POV

I was rushing through the scorched battlegrounds, cutting down those who stood in my way, no matter if they were paying attention to me or not. I was in the middle of two warring sides slaughtering each other.

???: Dumb fucking idiots!. I can't believe they actually brought this whole debacle to where I live.

When the leaders of this whole shitfest finally noticed me killing their soldiers, they demanded I join their own respective sides in their petty squabble for power which brought the entire universe they live in into chaos. I ignored all of them, pushing myself to get there in time. The only thing on my mind was getting to her in time. I had already lost her once. I couldn't let it happen again. I rushed across the now war-torn world I once lived in with the love of my life. I've failed her once in the past, and now history is repeating itself all over again.

Flashes of a distant memory where I failed her the first time sprung up in my mind. I watched as she collapsed due to poisoning by a rival. I remember kneeling down, cradling her body as the poison coursed through her entire being. The poison was one that once administered, burns her life, her very existence till she was nothing more that a fleeting soul which was bound to disappear. Her tears falling down her face as I held her in my arms begging her to stay with me, even when I knew that she had no more that a minute or two to live. It was all for naught though. Even with all my powers as the creator, I still couldn't go against the rules those bound by the reality I created for the ones beneath me. When she finally passed, I was so grief stricken that before I knew it, I was destroying everything I could. By the time I had time to recollect myself, there was nothing around. I had destroyed and consumed the entire universe and was all alone again.

I stopped my recollection there, renewing my efforts to get to save her this time. I was almost at the home where we shared our memories together. It was on fire as the sounds of fighting echoed from within. I fought through hordes of the bastards, finally reaching her.

She had straight silvery white hair that seemed to reflect a rainbow of colors cascading down to reach her hips, was now sullied by the blood. Her gentle electric blue eyes were now fierce as she fought off her attackers. Her body that had curves in all the right places, as if to tempt anyone to look at her. She had pure milk white skin that was as soft as it looked, covered by her suit of lightweight armor colored black to contrast with her skin.

???: Aurora!!

I called her name as I cut through anyone keeping her from me. She glanced towards my direction, hope filling her eyes as she spotted me.

Aurora: Mark!!

She responded as she cut her way to me. We met up in the middle of the group of enemies, fighting back to back. I wouldn't allow a single attack to approach her. We fought for hours, awaiting the moment for our reinforcements to come. At long last, the sound of a horn blew in the distance, followed by the rumbling sounds of feet shaking the ground. A third party had intervened, cutting down the remnants of the other two sides. In the fray of enemies was Aurora's sister, Dawn.

Dawn was Aurora's fraternal twin sister. She had sun-kissed golden hair that fell in waves before curling at the ends that reached her lower back. Her blood red eyes that were filled with fire and wrath, calmed down to show gentleness as she saw that I was okay. Her lightly tanned skin seemed to radiate warmth. Just like Aurora,  she was dressed for war. She wore a robe tailor-made for battle.

----------------------------------------

When I first started living in this world, I first met Dawn. We had met on opposing sides at first, but after a treaty was signed by both of our employed sides, I looked for her. We hit it off and after spending enough time together, we got serious. I loved her just as much as I did when I met Aurora in the past.

After spending years together, I started to compare her to Aurora of the past. I felt the same with Dawn as I had felt with Aurora back then. So when I told her about my past relationship, she was surprised but horrified about it. I later learned that the same Aurora I had loved in the past was her estranged twin sister. When Dawn took me to see Aurora, I felt euphoric when I saw her. She recalled me from vague memories that she was able to retain from before she passed away in the past. After our reunion, I immediately felt guilty about it after looking over at Dawn. She just smiled, but I could see the pain when I embraced Aurora. We discussed it together, and agreed that should it work out in the end, I would stay in my relationship with Dawn as well as enter one with Aurora. It was a rocky start at first, but after a while, I believed they had gotten used to it.

I was wrong. If I had only seen the signs sooner, maybe we could've avoided such a tragedy, but alas what's past is past.

There was no time for me to notice what was happening because I would be busy. A few months later, the war started.

----------------------------------------

She approached us as Aurora and I finally had a chance to rest. Aurora fell into my arms as I gently lowered her down, sitting down beside her, before giving her a passionate kiss to show her I was here for her.

Dawn: It's good to see you two.

She smiled at us, before giving Aurora a hub and me a passionate kiss. After we evacuated to Dawn's world, we started to make sure that we were safe from the other two parties. Our third party was made up of people that wished to stay neutral in the power struggle. Once that was down, we relaxed, spending time together to unwind. We were about to rest in our bed when Aurora speaks up.

Aurora: Hey Mark, you know how I remembered us together...

Mark: Yeah?

Aurora: Can you do the same with Dawn?

Dawn looked shock upon what she had heard. I smiled upon hearing Aurora's request.

Mark: Of course, should anything every happen to any of us, I would like if we could somehow remember each other when I see you two again.

I approached Dawn. Dawn knew what it had meant for me to do this for her, as tears brimmed upon her eyes. I smiled comfortingly at her, but for some reason he couldn't quite understand, I saw guilt upon her face. Right when I was about to give her power, Dawn leapt towards Aurora, sobbing uncontrollably.

Dawn: I'm so sorry! Even though you love me and were willing to share Mark with me, I *hic* I...

Aurora as well as myself were bewildered for her actions. Dawn kept sobbing, apologizing over and over again.

Dawn: I *hic* I was so hurt *hic* when I saw you two embracing each other...

Aurora: What's wrong?

Aurora felt alarmed at her sister's actions.

Dawn: I felt jealous when I saw you t-two together *hic* that I hurt you.

Mark thought back to those moments whenever he embraced Aurora, remembering looks of pain and guilt on Dawn's face every now and then.

Mark: Dawn, what did you do?

Dawn looked away from Aurora temporarily to look at me, but she only looked even more guilty. As she tried to control her sobs.

Dawn: Mark, you were the only thing keeping me tied to this life. When we first met, I cared nothing for my life. When you came into it, I felt like my life began anew. So when I learned about you and Aurora, I was jealous. I hated the fact that she was able to just waltz into my life again out of nowhere and I believed she was going to take you away from me. That coupled with the stress of the war that I *hic* I...

Aurora: Dawn?

Dawn: I poisoned you because I wanted Mark for myself. I always saw how much he loved you and your memories of the past and got jealous. I'm so sorry. *hic* I'm so sorry.

Upon hearing Dawn's confession  I felt furious. I was about to attack Dawn for what she had done, but I was stopped. Before I could do anything, Aurora jumped in front of me, stopping me from attacking Dawn.

Mark: Why?!

I felt furious after hearing what she said, and yet the one whom should be feeling the most betrayed had protected the one who hurt her.

Aurora glared at me, her eyes telling me to cease my actions. I was confused, wondering why she would protect Dawn. After making sure I wouldn't try anything, she turned to Dawn.

Aurora: Can you tell me why you did it?

Dawn looked ready to burst into tears once again.

Dawn: After we learned of your relationship with Mark, I always felt that he had stopped paying attention to me and instead focused all of his attention on you. I thought he didn't care about me anymore

I was about to retort her claim, but while thinking back, she was absolutely right. After meeting Aurora again, I focused mainly on her and Dawn on the side. I immediately felt shameful. Even when I was rushing to make sure Aurora was safe, I had momentarily forgotten about Dawn.

Aurora: I would've felt the same as well if someone just walked into my life and took what was most important to me. I'm sure Mark would feel the same way if someone took us from him, right?

Aurora asked, already knowing the answer

Mark: I-I..

I tried to defend myself, but I couldn't. Aurora knew this as well.

Mark: I'm sorry for ignoring you.

I apologized, walking up to Dawn to comfort her. Aurora hugged her as well.

Aurora: How much time do I have left?

Dawn looked down before answering. We could see how difficult this would be for her to answer.

Dawn: Probably until the end of the day.

Aurora: And there's nothing we could do?

Dawn nodded her head as she started explaining about the poison, still visibly shaking from her actions. I had a bad taste in my mouth, considering it was a similar poison to the one she first died to, only more delayed.

Aurora kept silent, biding her time to reply to her sister's words. After a few moments, Aurora looked up at me.

Aurora: Mark, are you able to do the same as you did the last time when I passed away?

I looked at her, shocked. I immediately nodded to her words.

Aurora: I want you to make it so so that Dawn and I still remember you should we ever find you again.

I started to explain to her the difficulties if I would restart the universe once again.

Aurora: You can tell just as much as we can that this universe is a failure. I don't have much time left, and I want to know that someday, we'll be able to spend time together again. And that you'll love us both equally then.

I was about to retort, but didn't have the heart to deny her request. I stepped towards Dawn, linking the three of us together.

Once a soul is given the power to remember, whenever they would pass away and reincarnate, they would have memories of their past lives. They could remember everything they would need, from ways to strengthen themselves, to ways to survive and thrive in a hostile world. They would also have some protection from those who intend to do them harm. They would be able to manifest those powers to protect themselves from others with ill intent.

Mark: I don't know how much time will pass before we'll be together again, but I promise I'll bring us back together again.

I vowed. Aurora and Dawn nodded, deciding to spend our last moments together.

----------------------------------------

After Aurora passed away, I turned to Dawn, noticing the uncomfortable tension in her body. No Aurora around to stop me from hurting her. I sighed tiredly.

Mark: I'm sorry for ignoring you. I promise that when I bring us three together again, I”ll be sure to love you as much as I love Aurora.

Dawn nodded at my words, visibly relieved.

Dawn: I'll should be on my way then as well, huh.

I nodded at her words.

Mark: It'll probably be pretty painful for everyone else.

Dawn nodded, getting up to grab a more effective and quicker poison to use on herself. She returned soon after.

Dawn: I love you Mark.

Mark: I love you too.

I responded. Dawn smiled, resting her head on my body as I awaited for her to pass on.

After making sure they've both moved on for now, I got up, walking away from our bed. I stood for a moment, realizing I was all alone yet again. I felt distraught, thinking it was my fault for Dawn ending up that way. If I had just loved and focused on her as much as I did with Aurora, then maybe this wouldn't have happened in the first place.

While I mourned and wallowed in depression, the war continued to rage on. After a few days, men from both sides visited in yet another attempt to coerce me to join their side, or else I would pay for it. I ignored them all as I thought about this shitty universe that keeps on screwing me over. Even when I was the one who created it for all to live, it still likes to fuck with me.

Finally, unable to stand it anymore, I got up, slowly approaching the two sides.

Mark: I'm going to make sure this never happens again.

I vowed out loud. Following soon after, I went on a rampage to destroy and consume everything once again. So in the next universe, maybe we could live a better life than the one we did in this one.

Once I was done, I floated by myself in nothingness.

Mark: Third time's the charm.

I reassured myself as I went to work to recreate the universe and reality that would become the new home for the people I love and myself.

----------------------------------------

I awoke from my sleep, shaking off the memories I dreamed last night. I struggled to rise as I felt a familiar pressure weighing down on my body.

???:Good Morning, Big Brother!!! (x4)
