"Five years ago, things were different. The world was a paradise compared to the shithole it is now. Humanity prospered in an era that would have heralded a technological period of political, social and economical stability. In simple terms a time when everyone in the world could lead a good life. Space exploration to conquer the solar system, nanotech technology to get rid of terminal ailments like cancer, artificial rejuvenation of the sahara desert to support crop production. These are some of the goals, scientists and great minds alike were working towards. Then they came. The first founders, claiming that humanity was an impure race that needed to be exterminated. The USA, China, Russia, england, Chile and south Africa were the first to be hit. They targeted the leading economical nation in each continent… yes Teena, what is it?"
A blonde girl with short hair, dressed in a grey overall raised her hand.
"Excuse me sir, you called them founders but my dad said they look exactly like us. Are they humans too?"
The instructor frowned.
"Common misconception. They may resemble us but they are not humans. A founder is a shifter race, a shifter can alter their musculature and bone structure to look like anyone. Furthermore….Yes kaito"
"Then how can you figure out if someone is a shifter or not?"
An asian boy in huge glasses asked.
" through blood. A founders blood is purple. It contains a certain chemical component that messes with electrical devices. So the safe Havens have come up with a device that can tell apart a founder from a human. Which brings us to my next point. During the early months after the third coming, as they called it, elite founder groups infiltrated the world's governments, seeking to destroy us from within..."
"But why?."
Everyone looked at the cold looking black kid seated at the back, who had interrupted.
The instructor took off his glasses and wiped them, then he cleared his throat and put them back on.
" yes? Thats a brilliant question. "
Everyone else was confused.
"What do you mean instructor?" Kaito asked.
The instructor sighed and sat down on the edge of the makeshift table.

"In war, infiltrating an enemy base is an effective battle strategy, especially when it comes to intelligence gathering and assassination. But that usually applies when the military power of the two sides is equal or not too big. The founder's technology is centuries ahead of what humanity has. So they could have simply overwhelmed us with their superior military power, but they didn't. This shows that they had another plan, besides wiping out the human race from existence. They were searching for something and the attack on the world's leading nations was to weaken the earth for easier subjugation. The great general, Sebastian ondija, a shaman from west Africa, was the first of the five great generals to discover humanities last hope, the Safe Havens. Can anyone tell me what I'm talking about?"
Teena raised her hand enthusiastically,
"My dad says that the safe havens are pocket dimensions, constructed by the planet's will to provide a secure base for us".
" That's a good answer Teena, seems like your dad knows a lot. Maybe, he should come and teach you guys instead, I so need some time off."
The students all laughed at the joke.
Ketor, who was seated at the back, looked at them all and sighed, not joining in on the laughter.
"System, are you done with the update?", he asked in his mind.
Five years ago, when the aliens, who called themselves the founders came, Ketor's hometown in Nairobi, Kenya was attacked during the second wave. The things he saw during that day proved to be too much for a 10 year old kid and he fell unconscious in an alley during the attack. Luckily he was saved by the army and taken to a bomb shelter with the rest of the survivors. When he woke up he found himself with an entity in his mind, which called itself, the primal will system. At first he freaked out, thinking that he had gone crazy. After a while he adjusted to the system's existence though he still thought he had gone insane. Being an orphan, he had no one to talk to so he chose to keep it a secret.
" Ding, update complete. System restart in 5,4,3,2,1"
After the countdown, Ketor felt something shift in his mind and following that he fainted.
