School

Chapter One

Sitting in a medium sized room there are a group of 12-13 year old kids looking anxious, worried, and a few, emotional. There are far too many kids crammed in this room, making everyone even more uncomfortable than they should normally be for their first day of school.

A young, stern, but nerdy pitched voice finally broke the awkward silence. "Good morning class, I'm professor Ged Gordon. It's a pleasure to be your instructor, why don’t we go around the room and introduce ourselves to break the ice shall we?". Announced a slim, young male who looked to be in his early twenties.

"Oh great, icebreakers. I wonder if teachers can think of a more annoying way to introduce everyone. It's such a superficial and in-organic way to get to know people, besides half of these guys won't even make it till the end of the week." a pale skinned, dark haired boy brooded in his mind.

"Alright guys, let's go from left to right. Tell us a little bit about yourselves, perhaps you could explain why you decided to enroll into military school." said Professor Gordon.

The girl in the far left seat on the front row spoke first. "My name is Bianca Wilt. I am the daughter of the nation's eighth king: Bennett Wilt. I enrolled here to train in the water arts in order to succeed my father some day." she declared.

"Holy crap, we're in the class with the king's daughter! We gotta be in the smart class right? Maybe that exam we took to get into the school was a placement test too!" a buzz cut headed, bland looking, short, but wiry kid stammered on.

"Dude shut up! You're being way too loud, it's super embarrassing. How am I supposed to make a good impression on a hottie like Princess Bianca if I'm seen with a suck up like you!" his blonde haired, blue eyed, lanky friend snapped.

"WHAT?! You're talking just as loud as I was, you idiot!" The bland looking kid shot back.

"Yeah? Well at least I'm not a-" "WILL YOU TWO BRATS SHUT UP, AND QUIT DISRUPTING MY FIRST EVER CLASS!" Professor Gordon roared, feeling embarrassed in front of an important figure such as the princess.

"Oh, yeah sorry." both kids said in unison.

"Alright, now that that's over with, let's pick up where we left off."

The class went through their introductions like normal until it reached the blonde kid who scolded his friend earlier. " My name is Jasper Reach, and I'm here cuz I need to be strong enough to marry the princess cuz she's rich and hot!" He proclaimed unashamed.

"...''

Awkward silence filled the room.

Bianca looked slightly uncomfortable, but was able to keep her composure due to her being the princess of Loch Wen.

"Ahem, uhh sure, who's next?" the professor asked.

"The name's Mol Jester. I joined this school to learn the water arts cuz I wanna be really strong and popular!" The bland kid announced.

"Tch, how original of you. At least he's honest. On a serious note though, this is insane. Why do I have to be placed in such a chaotic class? All I want is to do is mind my own business here and get strong enough to fix this screwed up system that we live in. I desperately hope I don't get stuck on the same team as the two simpletons when I graduate. Not like those two knuckleheads could graduate anyways." The pessimistic pale kid thought.

Nothing else to note happened until it was his own turn to introduce himself.

He was last, since he just had to sit in the back. "My name is Neo Tether... I'm going to become the king of this country... By any means necessary... Even if it means that I'm going to have to take out a few entitled scumbags in my way." He declared, while staring a hole through Bianca, clearly picking her out as competition.

"Why does this kid have to make a dramatic pause between every sentence? He's gonna be someone’s problem when he matures. It's literally my first year teaching, and I'm stuck with such a troublesome group. *Sigh*” Professor Gordon thought.

"Hey man, I don't like the way you're staring at my future-" Jasper said toward Neo in front of the whole class.

Before anyone could get another word out Mol smacked the ever loving crap out of his friend and sat him down.

Mol spoke to Jasper in a hushed voice. "That guy looked like the real deal man. We should not mess with him. Oh, and that comment you were about to make about "your future girl" made me have a near death experience due to secondhand embarrassment."

"Are you for real?! He's just some emo rando who's trying to look tough! Quit being a coward!" Jasper whispered back.

"Oh... that kinda makes sense actually. You're still embarrassing me though." Mol reasoned.

"Look, I have no problem with you guys if you just keep out of my way. Okay?" Neo said to the two.

"You should watch how you speak to people. What if you need someone’s help one day? Not gonna be very helpful for you is it?" Mol shot back at Neo.

Neo did nothing but shoot Mol a dirty look back.

Having enough nonsense thus far, the professor decided it was time to cut in.

“Alright guys, for the remainder of class I will go over some general rules and conducts, as well as let you know what is expected for you to graduate next year”

*3 hours later*

Students are filing out of the school’s front entrance at noon. Each one grumbling and complaining about the school’s strict requirement to graduate and join the military. Serving your country in the military is considered one of the greatest and most honorable things you can do as a career in Loch Wen. This is why most parents send their kids off to military school at age thirteen. The curriculum lasts one full year and is considered to be very difficult and intensive by most who have been enrolled.

“Our class was really packed. You would think that the school would build bigger rooms or something.” Jasper spoke as Mol and himself left the schoolyard.

“Nah, I heard that most kids don’t last until the end of the first week after they tell their parents the dangerous stuff you gotta do to graduate.” Mol explained.

“That's true, I guess parents get caught up in wanting their kid to be a war hero or something.”

“Forget that man, what was the deal with you in class today? You always told me that you wanted to be in the military so that you could find your parents. Not all of this garbage about wanting to marry the princess!” Mol said in confusion.

“I still want to find my parents. I only said that because Princess Bianca is such a heartthrob. I had to make my move before anyone else.” Answered Jasper.

“Well you can forget that bud. A princess definitely won’t marry an orphan like the two of us.”

“Maybe, but she doesn’t know that we’re orphans. Afterall, she only sees us as two guys who attend a very expensive military school. She can’t possibly know that our school is funded by the government for us.”

“I didn’t even think of that! Since when did you become such a smart person?” Mol said.

*The Palace*

“Gary, I want a background check on every one of my classmates. I want to know who I will be working with.”

“Right away Princess. I will have it done for you by tomorrow morning.” Answered the butler.

“Thank you.”
