A valley made up of dark colored stone with patches of grass on their tops. Two people stood facing each other.
One was a tall man with lean muscles and grey skin a few tones away from the color of the stone around him. His hair went down to his shoulders and he had thick goatee on his face.He had blood red irises and what should have been the whites of his eyes were the same black as his pupils. Armed with a sword and shield he stood in a defensive stance. He was a warrior.
The other person was a young looking man with brown hair. He held a quarterstaff with carvings decorating its exterior. He stood prepared to attack his opponent.
Both men were covered in wounds, sweat, and blood. Their breathing was heavy as they had both been engaged in combat with each other. Adding the fact that they had also been facing other people before this they both were growing tired.
“Your pretty good.” The one wielding a quarterstaff said. His opponent had put up quite the and he had to respect him for that.
“Your pretty good yourself.” The one armed with the sword and shield had a grin. He was enjoying himself throughout their fight and felt satisfied even if he were to lose. However he would feel even more satisfied if he could win.
“You ready?” A grin also appeared on the wielder of the quarterstaff asked.
“Of course.” The warrior responded.
Both men prepared for their next clash and became more focused. A few seconds passed by.
1…
2…
3…
3 seconds. At that moment the one with the quarterstaff swung his weapon and a wave of shimmering energy flew out. The warrior blocked it with his shield but when he was about to charge forward the one with the quarterstaff ran extremely quickly and jumped up and attempted to hit the warrior from above.
The warrior raised his sword up and blocked the attack making the quarterstaff wielder move behind him. As the quarterstaff was swung at the warrior from behind he changed how he held his sword to backhand grip and aim for his attackers arm. Both attacks managed to hit and the warrior was knocked off his balance though the quarterstaff wielder was also hurt even if it wasn’t that much damage.
Taking advantage of the warrior being off-balance the quarterstaff wielder did multiple more attacks. These attacks were all done in quick succession but the strikes had a strong force behind them. Adding on that some of the strikes had the shimmering energy that had been used earlier as a projectile, the damage done was good. Well good for the quarterstaff wielder, bad for the warrior.
The warrior had now fallen to the ground, dropping his weapon and shield away from himself. The quarterstaff wielder walked over and attempted to do a finishing blow on the downed warrior. The warrior however managed to dodge by rolling over and aiming a finger at his attacker, he cast a spell.
“Magic Missile!”
A transparent energy came from his had and concentrated in front of his finger. As the transparent energy took the form of the spell the man had cast it began to release a white glow. All this happened in a second and the magic missile barreled towards the quarterstaff wielder.
Side-stepping the attack the quarterstaff wielder mumbled under his breath. “So you still had enough mana to cast a spell?” Though Magic Missile wasn’t a powerful spell and it didn’t require much mana to cast it caused surprise for the quarterstaff wielder. He had thought the warrior had run out of mana already.
Taking advantage of the brief moment that the quarterstaff wielder was confused the warrior got up and ran for his sword. Though not as fast as the quarterstaff wielder he was still pretty damn fast. Grabbing his weapon he raised it in an effort to block the attack of the quarterstaff wielder who was already in front of him. The strike from the quarterstaff pushed him back a bit but didn’t knock him off-balance.
Stolen novel; please report.
The quarterstaff wielder sweeped his leg in order to knock the warrior off his balance again. The warrior however moved around him and chopped at the back of the quarterstaff wielder‘ head with his hand. The quarterstaff wielder ducked his head to dodge the strike.
Bringing his sword towards himself the warrior then stabbed at the quarterstaff wielder’s back. The attack connected and the sword went through the quarterstaff wielder’s back. To get the warrior to step away the quarterstaff wielder swung his weapon behind him causing the warrior to step back, leaving his sword in his opponent’s back.
Grabbing the hilt of the sword the quarterstaff wielder pulled it out causing blood to spill. “Probably shouldn’t have done that.” The quarterstaff wielder clicked his tongue at his mistake.
Channeling the shimmering energy into the sword the quarterstaff wielder threw it. The sword flew in a straight line leaving behind a trail of light and went directly towards its owner. Seeing the sword rushing towards him the warrior dodged out of the way. Missing its target the sword impaled itself into the rocky walls of the valley.
Seeing he had no weapon the warrior got ready to fight barehanded. Charging towards his opponent the quarterstaff wielder attacked with light blows switching to a heavy blow when he knew he wouldn’t be blocked by the warrior.
Eventually after some more strikes the warrior was hit in the head and he fell down. Suffering from all his injuries he looked at his opponent straight in the eyes. While looking at his opponent straight in the eye the warrior died.
“It looks like I’ve one.” The quarterstaff wielder breathes heavily and fell in exhaustion. He had killed his only remaining opponent, winning.
“Rewind.” A disembodied voice rang throughout the valley. As the voice faded the wounds on the warrior disappeared and the same went for the quarterstaff wielder. They weren’t the only only ones affected though, their felled opponents also were healed. After the wounds returned to normal on the dead they came back to life perfectly fine as if they hadn’t fought.
The environment began to glow before morphing into the ground. What was left after was a flat plane with twenty people lying on the ground. In the sky large holographic screens appeared. On them were the words ‘Winner - Aire Phiros’
When the screen appeared cheers could be heard. Surrounding the plane where the combat had occurred were raised stands full of people who had come to watch the fights.
On a larger platform a blonde man with fancy clothing stood, clapping. Next to him a woman with red hair stood wearing a black dress with a beautiful design. Behind them on a seat was a male teenager with black hair wearing casual clothes made up of a jacket, shirt and pants.
“Ladies and gentlemen we have our victor!” The blonde man spoke with a elated tone. When he spoke more cheers came from the crowd.
“Now our victor,” he snapped his fingers and appeared in front of the quarterstaff wielder named Aire, “tell us what is it you wish your reward to be.”
Aire began to think about what he should ask for. After some time he spoke. “I want a better weapon”
“I see so you wish for that. Well then go find Tura at the Draconic Forge. She’ll get you what you want.”
After that he snapped his fingers and at the very center of the arena a large pillar of light appeared. “Participants please make your way to the exit.” After that he teleported back to his original location next to the red haired woman and the teenager.
As the participants began to make their way to the light pillar the viewers also began to file out of the stands moving to the exits located near them. Once everyone had left the exits in the stands closed and the light pillar faded away.
“Another game finished. What did you think about this one Boss?” Turning to the teenager the blonde man asked a question.
“Nothing amazing happened. Maybe we should spice things up a little?” The red haired woman spoke her voice emotionless.
“Good idea Holly we should do that.” The teenager referred to as Boss by the blonde man responded to the silver haired woman, Holly’s, question excitedly.
“Boss you really shouldn’t change the rules no previou-” The blonde man was cut off.
“Screw my previous incarnations Halburn. I want enjoyment screw their rules. I’m the boss now the previous me’s aren’t.” Boss said. He glared at Halburn until Halburn gave up and said, “Fine.”
“Great now how about we add teams? Adding on to that how about we make raids. The participants try to defeat a creature and the ones who do the most damage or slay the creature first win.” Boss continued listing ideas he had for what to make the next games about.
“We should probably ask our team first, no?” Holly said. The team in charge of managing everything would need to know about what to do to prepare the games like Boss wanted it.
“Right.” Boss nodded and then got off his seat. “I call a meeting.”
A flash of light and all three disappeared.

Spell Explanation - Magic Missile: One of the most basic spells it is mostly used by those who are early into their magic development. Magic Missile is a more damaging version of the spell Mana Bullet. The reason for the increased damage is the fact that Magic Missile explodes when it comes into contact with an object. Still many use Mana Bullet for its easier casting.
