Two figures watched an immensity of cold steel, darkness and light and all power over Abōeo. It felt like an eternity since they’d first seen that behemoth of glittering silver-black light, the faint orange light of its engines pale against the sunlight that shone off its form. So bright…

The Eternity Falling flew over Abōeo. The eternity falling flew over the world, a compromise, compact fairly given… they watched from the shade of forest’s edge, a small hill that did nothing to diminish the grandeur of that thing of steel.

Two figures. One looked out across the waves and the half-shadowed spires of humanity, one across the endless skies. Golden light gleamed as they waited, rivulets of fire running down the sides of the Eternity Falling in mesmerizing patterns. Orange glowing, so bright, darkness dispelled in the radiance of compromise.

They watched, one awed, sibilant sad, as the light grew to a crescendo and an age longer than age brought itself to an end. They watched the end of darkness, wondering- futures, possibilities… they watched the fire of Polarity Light, infinity bound and set to work.

Felt, power, the end of things as those two figures on the top of a small hill, stone before steel before air felt the gentle sunlight and watched gently glittering waves, the homeward return of half the sibilant. Watched as the Eternity Falling disappeared into the endless dark of a gentle blue sky. Perhaps forever, who could know.

They watched for a minute more, then set down a dappled forest path, remembering the darkness. Remembering sacrifice, and they heal-

Eternity, ended.

The final remnants of a behemoth of black steel, quiet darkness, beneath the shadow of God.
