It was but another tuesday night at the cancer hospital, in room B78 of the second floor in the 3rd hall. And in this room was a boy, well atleast what was left of him. His legs were missing, in fact they were amputated. If you couldn't guess already, this is our main character, Mason. Not much of one huh? Another thing about him is his arm was missing along with his legs. Only one arm, straight from the elbow down was just a prostethic.
Although this child was in such a terrible condition, with such unfair disadvantages, he still hasn't lost hope. If you would look into his eyes, they weren't lifeless nor sad. In fact, they were brighter than even the stars! Why you ask? Well of course it was due to him currently playing his favorite game in existence; Pokemon. Pokemon was a turn based battle game where one would control a tamed beast called a pokemon and use them to fight other pokemon trainers. A popular game appealing to young boys, and even spanning across the age gaps reaching middle aged men's interests.
He could be considered one of the best players. He had played every single game on every single system. He had constantly played every game and transferred his data over to the newer games. The latest pokemon game, sun and moon had recently come out and he had already caught every single pokemon in the game, including from previous games. Why still play when he has already completed this games purpose? He was of course catching shiny pokemon which he could boast about to the nurses and doctors, his only friends. He couldn't go to school in his condition, he had stage 4 lung cancer and although he wasn't told how long he had to live, he knew it wasn't very long.
The sun shined through the window into his eyes, he squinted his eyes and laid down, closing his nintendo. 'Ugh, im getting bored of this version, I need a new version.' He looked at the TV and turned on a show, of course it was Pokemon. In fact he hated the pokemon tv series, he believed Ash essentially made every wrong choice a trainer shouldn't make. It was supposed to embody the idea of being kind and benevolent yet the entire idea of pokemon contradicts it. It should simply just follow the story of an actually competent main character and how he deals with pokemon battles and exploring the world full of pokemon. Instead the viewers are given Ash Ketchum who in the simplest form would be called a piece of shit. He is the most annoying main character ever known to TV and the fact that he doesn't age makes the story even worse.
Mason was certainly into Pokemon, to even get sensitive over such a topic. The only reason he watched the show is because it was pokemon, ignoring the shit MC took some time, but he worked it out and actually kinda enjoyed the show.
Slowly, as time went on, his lack of sleep caught up to him.
'Hmm, strange, why am I so sleepy? More than usual even."
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
He still hasn't realized what was going on until he focused and looked around his room. There he saw his father, holding a pillow and a syringe.
His heart thumped fast. This couldn't be right? No way, his parents aren't like that.
'thump'
his heart couldn't help but beat faster.
Tears streamed across his fathers face.
"I'm sorry! This is what's best for you, this is hard on me too! I'm sorry!"
"huh, what ar-" is all he managed to squeeze out before his father pushed the pillow into his face. Screaming would do no good now, lacking an arm and being skinny really made this 16 year old's chances slim. He couldn't do anything as he died in the scariest way possible.
'why not just shoot me instead of making me suffer?'
He normally would have been able to do something to alert the hospital, but he was drugged by his father, it was already a miracle he hasn't fallen asleep. Soon his energy was depleted and his squirming began to die down.
"I'm sorry!I'm sorry!I'm sorry!I'm sorry!I'm sorry!I'm sorry!I'm sorry!I'm sorry!" His father kept chanting, almost as if he was convincing himself of what he was doing was right.
'no dad, you don't understand! I don't want to die yet! I WANNA LIVE!'
Thoughts couldn't be conveyed unfortunately so he was stuck under the pillow until his squirms died down and he lost conciousness and he died there on the spot.
That day signified the death of a boy, and the start of a legend.

Pallet Town...
A woman could be heard moaning, breathing, and gasping continuosly.
"Push!Push! A little more!"
A woman giving birth in the local doctors building could be seen. She wasn't anything too special, a pretty housewife with a talent in cooking. All that could be seen was the woman, a doctor named Dr. Malset and another woman. No sign of a potential father could be seen.
With a last push he baby came out, a healthy, pale baby came out crying. It's crying was much stronger than it should have normally been for a newborn baby. The doctor feared that there was something wrong, but with careful examination he found nothing wrong. Well except one thing. The baby's eyes were a deep shade of red which stood out.
'Its nothing, hes but a baby, the color will probably change in the future.' Thought the doctor.
"Let me see my child" Demanded the woman.
"alright, be careful now. Don't want anything to happen to it after all that effort." He smiled.
As the woman held her baby her eyes brightened and a smile broke, a face full of love was shown and she felt so happy just looking at him. She especially loved his eyes the most out of all his features.
"So about his eyes they ar-"
"Perfect" She interupted.
"Huh? Your not alarmed by them?"
"Oh why would I? They are the same as my husbands."
The doctor made a weird face. "alright then, I guess this signifies our new addition to our small population of pallet town."
He went up to a board which read 599 and rewrote 600.
"How convenient he was born just a bit after oaks son. I hope they will grow to be friends."
The woman smiled, "I too hope they would grow to be friends."
Little did they know that these two boys fates are intertwined much deeper than friends, they were meant to be something else, something more; Rivals.
