Guys! Help!
I went to bed last night, with Eevee, and I cuddled, and read him his favourite stories and everything, like we do every night. He was scared because we'd watched a horror movie, and I told him that no matter what I'd keep him safe.
When I woke up Eevee was an Umbeon!
What can I do?
Man, I should have stuck to bug pokemon.

This is one more datapoint! Can you confirm that Eevee evolved overnight? That would fit into the idea that Umbreon evolutions require nightfall to happen!

That's not proof, it's correlation. Maybe it was the horror movie? Umbreon is a Dark-type, that much is confirmed-confirmed, no matter what people who don't believe in Dark-typing think. So maybe the dark emotions of the movie triggered the evolution.

Duuuuude, you can't just dismiss your pokemon friend because they evolved in a way you don't like. That's messed up.
Sure, Espeon is Bestpeon, but like, damn, Umbreon is a close second.

Could be a foreign trainer coming to Johto, or they traded for it. It's not super uncommon that a well-off parent will get their kid a rarer pokemon as a starter.
