New: [Meditation] lv. 1

Along with his battle report, he also gained another new [General Skill], [Meditation]. It seemed that just doing something for long enough, or with enough of a basic understanding, allowed for certain [Skills] to unlock.

I've wanted to pick up [Meditation] since back before; when I had the chance to see that other skill, [Complex Meditation]. The longer I spend in idle meditation, the more [HP] and [SP] I'll be able to regain.

Quintin now had twenty-five [AP] to play around with after leveling four times. Yet even as exhilarating as the prospect of growing stronger was, he was beginning to question his spread of points.

If I have more [Str.] then I can stand my ground more easily. [Dex.] is great, but there will always be a moment when I need to get in close. I can deal a devastating blow, but the [Monster] or person, in turn, has an opportunity to use their [Str.] to deal me damage regardless of how much more nimble and fast I am at that moment. I got lucky against the [Hob] when my projectile took a chunk out of his maul handle, which caused him to lose his balance and impale himself.

[Strength]

-Stat

Dictates how much power is generated from physical exertions.

The more strength one has the easier it becomes to overpower those with lesser strength in direct confrontation.

A small tie-in with Vitality where health/stamina is concerned.

+1[HP] per point.

+1[SP] per point.

Only my hands, feet, and lower arms and legs are hyper strong. My body is still susceptible to being knocked-back or bowled over. If I would have been dealing with the same number of Intruder Wolves instead of Goblins, then I may well have died instead.

Quintin mulled over his options. [Dex.] was a long game choice that gave a minuscule addition to [MS], but over time he thought it would become worthwhile. Not to mention how his fine actions and reactive movements were noticeably sharper.

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

The [Battle Robe of Many Tumbles] does a lot of work for me in that department. I can afford to play an even longer game with [Dex.] in exchange for some points in [Str.]. I need to power myself up to challenge the possibility of being overpowered!

He didn't feel anything particularly different, but he was sure to find out more during his future fights.

He found it strange that no one had been overly surprised by the sheen of metal from his hands and feet. He attributed it to probably being seen as armor like gauntlets, even odd as they were in design. Quintin surmised he probably wasn't even in the top ten-thousand strangest people to ever walk into an Adventurer's Guild anyhow.

Not wanting to waste his time sitting around any longer he stood and walked further into the goblin tunnel.

Relying on his hands and [Sinisphere] he went further on. Sometimes down, sometimes straight. The pathway was a changeling as it corkscrewed down, and felt like walking through the bowels of a gigantic, easily-amused beast.

Damn Goblins. There's no sense in the way they dug this tunnel. It's like they went any way the wind blew... A slight wind?

Quintin felt a subtle breeze and the smell of death along with it as it continued unabated. the scent grew more and more fragrant with each new footfall. Eventually, as he came closer and closer to the source, a lone signature registered within the range of [Sinisphere].

A goblin stood motionless around twenty meters up ahead. A greedy intent trickled from the outline as it stared into the darkness with its back to Quintin.

Where there's one Goblin there will be others. I wonder what it's staring at?

It didn't take him long to figure out. He activated [Envision] and was greeted by sporadic light sources beyond where the Goblin stood. Past the creature, the tunnel opened into a chamber of sorts that housed an underground village. Quintin willed the peeper-tendril of sight up to overlook a few stone buildings, as well as some fur tents.

The light sources were actually bonfires. More Goblins and even a few Hobgoblins could be seen eating and chattering away around them.

A ding accompanied his observation of the Goblin hideaway, which startled and caused him to pull [Envision] back in.

- Exploration

- Point of Interest

Finding new places in the world is exhilarating!

Points of interest will slightly glow

apart from the surroundings while in very close proximity

This world certainly likes to play games, but I wouldn't call the local denizens friendly. 15 more regular [Goblins] as well as at least two more [Iron-Beak Hobgoblins], and that's just around the bonfires...

Quintin was unprepared to turn back having traveled this far in already. More and more his desire to engage with Whorll and all its mysteries stoked his adventurous spirit into a fine blade of bright intent —

My course won't be stopped.

Not here.

Not ever!

Quintin planned in the quiet of the tunnel.

The [Goblins] happily feasted and chattered away while unaware of the predator that lurked close at hand.
