Chapter 1

Hi! I am Kael. I am speaking to my imaginary friend right now. Yes. My imaginary friend. Who? Who is reading? We're friends right.

I am currently walking on the sidewalk. My destination is to my house in 1196  Mac Street. But on the way I deviated my course. Why? Because two men in black suits are stalking from behind me. I have notice them yesterday after I saw that ... monster.

It happened early in the morning. School starts at 6 am. A public highschool that has so many students that they made freshmen and sophomore classes in the morning and juniors and seniors in the afternoon. Subjects are so crammed that the lectures are so fast. Questions are mostly ignored or neglected until class is done.

Let's get back topic. Our school has been established a 100 years ago. That's why our PE uniform has the Centennial added to it. The oldest and the first building is the administration building. It is built in wood unlike the newer buildings which is in concrete. The campus had a couple or more trees in the corners. Then I came in about 5 am in the morning. Why? I was elected as president of the class that's why! And the adviser of our class just gave me the key saying, "Be early. That's the only key of the room. So if your absent then everyone is absent." Tsk. Lazy bum.

Here I am walking towards my classroom. Oh! Before I forgot I am a sophomore and since I was a freshmen I have heard alot of stories surrounding this campus. Like some students being possessed, doors closing on it's own, strange trees unable to be cut by any materialss. Yeah. A lot of crap and all. I don't believed it.

When I rounded the corner, I saw my xlassmate . Zoe. She is so punctual in fact I had once thought to give her the keys but I rejected the idea. I don't want to become as that lazy bum teacher. My responsibility, my work, my job, I would do it to the best of my abiity.

I nodded at her, she further lowered her head. She is a very shy person. Head always lowered, and doesn't really open up to anybody. Usually I don't remember most of the names of my classmate. I have said that this public highschool has SO many students, right? To tell you exactly how many. In our class we have 70 students all in all. Every class attendance took too much time that's why we write it on a paper. Roll calling and then checking if the number on the paper is the same. Then attendance is done. She is an introverted person with her long black hair partially covering her face.

As I was about to unlocked the door, a hand caught my arm. It was Zoe's. Our eyes met, and I was shocked by the seriousness in her eyes. Unlike other times where she stares blankly on the open.

"What are you doing? I need to op....."

Then I heard noises coming from inside the room. From what I have heard, it was wood hitting another wood. My eyes opened wide in surprise. Someone is in there? I shook Zoe's hand and opened the door then turned the lights on.

What appeared in my eyes flabbergasted me. Chairs were stacked over each other and was out on the sides forming a circle on the center of the room. What happened here?

"Hello? Anybody?!"

There was no response. If Zoe's hand is not pulling me back out then maybe I have scoured the whole room for anyone. I believe somebody is here. But Zoe tug me hard that made me turn to her. "Leave". Something is strange in here. Zoe really never talked much. Today is different for her I think.

" What's wrong?"

She shooked her head, hair still partially covering most of her face except for her eyes,"Can't tell."

"Then how will I know what is the problem? Come on let's start putting these chairs back into proper places. Class is about to start in ... 27 minutes."

I roamed the room and found no one. Weird. Then who made noises a while ago in here? I have put down 2 chairs and Zoe is still standing outside.

"Hey come on. Need some help here." I grabbed her hand and pulled her in. That's when all hell broke loose.

The electricity went out, and its still early in the morning which is to say... I can't see a thing! I broke my hold in Zoe's arm and took my phone to flash the light.

"Out of all the times this happened today. Geez." Then I notice Zoe was not behind me. Let me clear that, what I mean is not behind but above me. She is hovering in the air, legs kicking and her hands on her neck.

"Zoe! Zoe! What is happening to you?!" I tried to pull her down but then I saw how she behaved. She is choking. I grabbed a chair and stood on it to reach her while grabbing a scissor on the teachers desk simultaneously calling her name.

I hastily wave my phones flashlight on her, trying to see what's strangling her. But I saw nothing. She is scratching her neck hard. I can see the horror on her eyes and also the resolute ness. She is in pain, but a scream never came out. Then while being choked she said, "Cro..ss."

Cross? How did she know? I was not able to think anymore at that time and took out the cross necklace tuck inside my uniform. I wave it at her and she took it. Sizzling sound could be heard as she press it on her neck. She fall down hard on the ground.

"What happened? Are you okay?" I jumped down as I supported her up.

*Cough*Cough*Cough*

She put her arms around my shoulder and through gritted teeth she said, "Run."

I took her out of the room and we ran as fast as we could. As we stepped out, electricity turned back on. Occasionally I would looked back and see the lights on the area where our classroom was, are flickering on and off. In my watchful eyes I could see the wall dented with a bang. Then the floor, again and again hastily approaching us. I put all of my strength on my legs to speed up our pace.
