This time he did not spend a lot of time looking at his new system, with one look he instantly realised that anything inside already cost more CP than he had available, so he went on with the next part of the tutorial.
You have activated an inventory card: You gain access to the inventory system, an infinite timeless storage space for your personal belongings. Well let's see how it goes then. Jason swiftly opened his status window once more and mentally shouted 'appraisal!' while focusing his attention on the name of the skill at the bottom of the screen. He also might have posed as a certain street fighter character performing a wave motion fist. God I hope nobody saw that. Ignoring his internal suffering the system prompt showed him the way to continue his tutorial.
Appraisal successful.
Appraisal skill
Allows the user to view the status screen of the appraised object or creature.
The amount of details that can be seen depends on skill level.
The chance for success is based on skill level, perception and the strength or value of the object or creature.
Skill is trained by successfully appraising objects, amount of experience depends on the chance of success.
After he finished reading this prompt Jason quickly looked away from the screen and started scanning his surroundings, looking for targets of appraisal to quickly increase his skill level. He was however surprised to find himself standing in the middle of a huge group of people, no creatures, who were all looking dazedly in front of themselves without paying attention to anyone else. There were not only humans here, but also other's such as people with bunny ears, green goblins, and one that looked a lot like a humanoid slime. His sudden surprise didn't seem to go unnoticed by everyone however, as he suddenly felt a heavy hand on his shoulder. He yelped in surprise and turned around to see a burly, brown haired man with a huge grin on his face.
Before he could ask any questions the man gave a laugh, slapped him on the back a couple of times, knocking the breath out of his body, and introduced himself.
"Hey there kid, my name's Braum. I'm a highlander and I was stationed here by the gods this year to take care of the newbies. I can't answer any questions but I can tell you that you should try to finish your early tutorial as fast as you can and continue with the mission. Once you start that you should try to complete of much of it as possible without rushing though. That's all I can say for now, go on, hurry up and level up your appraisal skill somewhere."
After that the burly man walked away to a nearby hill where he went on to stand and look over the hundreds of people around him and came to the conclusion that none of them were going to be active until they finished their tutorial up to the part where they had to level up the appraisal skill. It seemed to be an unconcious manipulation of the system that kept them from getting distracted.
He decided to follow the burly man's advice and started using appraisal on whatever came to his eye.

After appraising for a good 10 minutes his experience hadn't even increased by 10% and he was starting to get frustrated. Wasn't his perception supposed to be comparably high. Also there were more and more people starting to 'wake up' from their tutorial and they were all busy trying to appraise every little thing they could find after they experienced their welcome by the highlander.
He didn't know why but for some reason a sense of urgency had started to appear in him when he saw these people bustling about to complete their tutorial. Appraising whatever his gaze full on he entered a state of trance as he appraised the things and people around him. This kept on for a short while, when a fanfare of sound different from the usual system prompt pings rang in his ear. Bewildered he looked at the messages in front of him, and got surprised by what he read.

For a second everything went black. Then light broke out once more and Jason found himself lying in a bed. He didn't really understand how this could all be real but based on what he had experienced since he woke up he was relatively certain that right now he woke up in a house in Littleroot town. The world was surprisingly realistic, considering his expectations when he found out he would be sent to a Pokémon world. He quickly thought of the mission card and a blue screen showed telling him of the details.
