And that day . . .

And that day . . .

'Humans were hated by the gods. The gods whom the people never believed in.

As humans we only feel greed. Its the only natural emotion, one without cover. This greed had helped us by making us superior to any other creature on this planet. But in the end we are reminded again that we are nothing more than JUST humans. We are not superior to the land, the wind or the sea. We can always be thrown away. This land that we destroyed for our greed can always devour us.

And so it did.

About a thousand year ago or so humans became extinct. The revenge was complete. The once prosperous world, highly advanced and complete for humans was now just hollow. The land reverted to its natural state. The air became cleaner and the water pure. The man made buildings were just junk now.

But the gods knew that it was not just the human's mistake. Its the way they think. So they were given a chance. A chance to make it right.

And that is how the first man, complete with all the knowledge bestowed upon him by the gods, was born.

His name . . . as named by the gods themselves was . . . Agartha.',

the old man took a whiff of his cigar and laid back on his chair. The two children, who appeared about 5 or 6, had a dreamy look in their eyes were now suddenly pulled back to reality. they pestered the old man saying, 'Tell us more.' One of the children named Tsithy asked, 'Old man, is that really the end of the story?' he said in an uptight position and his ears tingling with curiosity looked at the old man. 'Make something up if you don't like it.' replied the man in a harsh tone. 'At least that is what I did.' ,whispered the man sliding his hat over his face ready to take a nap. Tsithy now slightly angry stood up and started punching the old man's arm. The other child, named Evara, laid on the floor near the chair with his arms and legs stretched out thought out loud, 'It feels more like a beginning.'

The boys are from a small island called Marmoris which comes under the kingdom Levaerun. The island is not that famous for anything but is a major stoppage point for the sea merchants route. Due to this the island has a vast diversity of different races of humans. The two boys have lived on this island from the day they were born. Tsithy is an orphan and lives with the old man Inej. Evara was told that Tsithy's parent's were merchants but when they had him they disowned him because they were not ready for a child. Evara is the Town's baker's son.

Tsithy is an extroverted child with lots of question's coming in his mind always. His influence made the socially awkward Evara a bit of an extrovert too but he still had a small conservative side to him. They both attended the town's only school. Although neither of them was good at studies the only reason they went to school was because they did not want to be bored.

One side of the island was a port while the other side was full of small hills, lakes, and forests. There were animals in there but not the dangerous kind. Evara and Tsithy often went to forest with the old man Inej to pluck mushrooms. The old man Inej sold mushrooms as a form of living. Even though he was called old man Inej he was not that old. Inej was a 50 year old merchant who had come to settle on Marmoris after an incident in the past. He took in Tsithy to keep himself engaged but has never once left him.

The life on the island was pretty good. It was peaceful and safe. But Evara always felt like something was missing. He thought, 'Everything here is good but I don't want this life, i just want to be more free.' Evara always told Tsithy that he did not feel satisfied yet but Tsithy would pay no mind to it.

10 years later.

Tsithy and Evara both are now 15 years old. They are tall and healthy boys. With Tsithy hitting a growth spurt and being more taller and muscular than Evara. Both of them were training under Old man Inej, who was now actually old, to be sea merchants. They had been training under him from the age of 10. He always told them, ' Being sea merchant means you have to strong as much as you are smart.' Tsithy being physically more stronger picked up the training much faster than Evara and became a full fledged sea merchant in a mere 6 years. He was a prodigy. He was the first sea merchant born in Marmoris to be this skilled. He was the centre of the spotlight.

During lunch one day when Evara and Tsithy were sitting on the branch of a tree, Tsithy told Evara, 'Its my time finally. Now I am not just an orphan. I can be someone now.' 'Yeah now you think you are big shot huh.' ,said Evara jokingly. They both smiled at each other and took a bite of their watermelon. Tsithy continued after a pause, 'I am thinking of leaving Marmoris.'

'What... but your training is not final and you are not yet 19, you can't get a license for being a sea merchant.' exclaimed Evara with shock on his face. 'I know I know' ,continued Tsithy 'but I don't think anymore training is going to make a difference and about the license i can just work under a merchant as an apprentice until i am 19 and that way i can gain experience first hand' ,finished Tsithy. 'But ...',Evara said still in shock. 'You know Evara its my dream. I have told you this before but you know my parents they left me because they didn't want me. I want to prove it to them that they were wrong, even if I have never seen them I want them to know that ... I am here'. Evara looked at Tsithy's face that was as confident as ever but his hands were trembling. Evara knew Tsithy was giving it his all. He gave a hard smack to Tsithy's back. He stood up on the branch  with watermelon in his one hand and shouted out loud, 'They will know for sure who you are'.

A week went by but Tsithy did not have the courage to say to old man Inej about his decision. This made Evara frustrated so he orchestrated a plan with Tsithy and asked him to wait by the port with his luggage and he will bring old man Inej to him so that he can be clear with him.

The next day early in the morning Evara sent Tsithy to the port and was going to back to old man Inej's house. On his way there he saw a big crowd of people near the town notice board but he just ignored it and went straight to the house. Inej was sleeping so he tried to wake him up. Inej was really old now so he woke with a grumpy face and was angry on Evara for waking him up so early. Evara was too excited to keep quite so blurted out, 'Tsithy is waiting near the Eel Port for you. He has something to say.' As soon as he was finished saying this Inej jumped out of the bed and held Evara's dshoulder so tightly that it was starting to hurt him. 'Why is he ther? Why didn't you stop him? Its dangerous there today.' ,shouted Inej. 'What! Why what is it today..'Evara asked. 'Its the new moon today you idiot and . . . huh . . . uh',Inej started panting heavily. He was having his panic attacks. Evara was stressed out and was panicking himself but somehow he helped Inej to be stable and rushed to Tsithy towards the port.

As he was running his father stopped him midway. He had a frightening look on his face. He was trying to say something to Evara but Evara was in too much hurry to even listen. He dashed out of there as fast as he could. His father was still screaming from behind telling him to stop. His father's voice became lighter and lighter too him as he approached the port. Before he could see Tsithy through the corner of his eyes he saw a giganteas silhouette of a boat disappearing into the dense clouds. Due the new moon day the whole sky was filled with heavy clouds and the waves were more violent than ever. Evara ignored everything and anything and just zoomed past there. He jumped over the fences and finally reached where he left Tsithy.

He couldn't believe his eyes. The port was gone. The whole wide port had vanished as if it never existed. all remained were some broken boats and a big gorge as if something had chunked out the whole port. Evara was too confused to reason anything and just started calling out for Tsithy at the top of his lungs. 'TSITHY. . . WHERE ARE YOU ... COME OUT .. RIGHT NOW.......TSITHY'. For fifteen minutes straight he shouted till his neck became sore.

His hair became unseemly  and he was sweating from the top of his head to his toes. Inej arrived at this time with Evara's father behind him and many of the town's people. Inej dropped to his knees and couldn't say a single word. The town's people started saying, 'He has been taken ... .. .'
