She had seen war, she had fought wars, and she had won wars. Yet the sight of her chivalry’s burning corpses churned her stomach in ways it had never done before. This wasn’t how her legacy was supposed to end. She had come this far to destroy and kill the Dark Knight, bringing his head back to her kingdom as a prize. To show the world why she deserved to keep her title of being a great hero. To right her previous mistakes. She had come here to end the cycle of suffering this dark magic wielder has created, to an end. Aeliana stumbled around the bloodstained and ashened battlefield, before standing up straight, her axe in her hand, and her magic turquoise flames wrapped around it burning bright.
She was a phoenix. The concept of death meant nothing to her.
With steel-like determination, and a glare, Aeliana sprinted forward, her raven and orange hair blowing with the current she created. Once she reached Aerion, the dark knight, she swung her flamed axe across, trying to slice him in half from the middle of his torso. The dark armoured mage dodged, disappearing and appearing behind Aeliana, where he sliced downwards, hitting her armoured back and piercing through it. Her blood sprayed out into the air and Aeliana screamed out in pain. The attack had dark magic coated in it. She felt her mana slowly draining as she continued to bleed. Her muscles were growing weaker. Aerion chuckled maniacally and walked to the front of her and grabbed her chin, lifting her head up. His mask only allowed his soul-less red eyes to peek through, locking with her anger-filled blue eyes.
“I don’t know why you continue to fight for a kingdom; no, a world that was ready to spit at your legacy when you lost against the Red Dragon. I could have given you an opportunity to rule by my side, and look down on these pathetic, putrid beings. You could have controlled what they did, and made them fear you.” He lectured.
Aeliana spat in his face as a reply, and Aerion laughed.
“I shall never become like you. Never! I’d rather die.” She spoke through gritted teeth, her tone venomous.
“Then you shall die.” Aerion nonchalantly replied. He stood up, dropping Aeliana’s head, and lifted his sword, that looked more like a slab of purple iron more than anything. Aeliana closed her eyes, and allowed her fate to take course. With swift movement, Aerion lumped off the young knight’s head.
In that very brief remainder of consciousness as her pupils darted all around, Aeliana thought back to the happy memories of her life. Her younger sister tried to persuade her into becoming an adventurer who banded a party, simply because she wanted stories. Her mother often remarked that she had a personality of a happy-go-lucky drunken bandit, not a serious and chivalrous knight. Maybe that was her way of dissuading Aeliana from becoming a knight. But the young woman was far too stubborn to give up on her dreams. When Aeliana had become a knight, and brought home stories of winning wars, her younger sister often commented about how mundane that all sounded. All in all, her memories of her family were filled with laughter. With a smile and a single tear, the life from Aeliana vanished.
The once great hero had died.

The scent of freshwater and a gentle breeze washed over Aeliana’s unconscious body. It took a while before she opened her eyes, and blinked. Was she alive? Was this a dream, and she hadn’t fought Aerion yet? Her eyes slowly adjusted, Focusing on the clear blue sky above her, and the white clouds that slowly moved along. She was alive somehow. The universe believed that she was worthy of another chance at life, and she wasn’t going to take this for granted. The young woman slowly got up, and brought her knees to her chest, groaning out. She was stripped to a white tank top and white shorts. Her feet were bare, feeling the cool pebble beneath her sole.

Aeliana’s head snapped up as the light blue screen that appeared before her. Her heart rate skyrocketed. What was this? Her fingers slowly inched towards the screen, a golden ring forming underneath her tips as she placed it on the screen.
She clicked the enter body and a menu page appeared next. This was very interesting. Aeliana had never seen anything like this before and it greatly intrigued her. Her eyes roamed over the various icons which included an information page, an account page, a quest board, a wallet, a map/navigation, and inventory. She pressed the information icon and watched in anticipation as a new screen popped up.

A wave of relief washed over her. She was happy that her magic had followed her to
this world, the thought of restarting from scratch scaring her a little. However, being D-Classed greatly saddened her. All her hard work had been thrown in the garbage. There were also a lot of limitations. She couldn’t use an attack back to back, and if she did, she would lose a lot of points. She simply couldn’t rely on magic alone anymore.
Yet, on the bright side, with her knowledge of combat, climbing up the class ladder would not be that hard. With a deep sigh, Aeliana looked over the menu page of her system and clicked on the inventory, hoping there would be some kind of clothing. To her surprise, her axe was there, looking quite degraded. Her eyes then trailed off to the side, where four different items of clothing, and a pair of dark brown combat boots. She clicked in each item, watching in awe as it materialised on her body. First was the beige tank top, next were the brown cargo pants, followed by the red bandana that wrapped around her head.
Finally, a tattered brown cloak that laid upon her shoulders, and draped down her back.
Now fully dressed, Aeliana stood up and began making her way into the woods, trying to find something or someone. With her systems still open, she clicked on the map and pinpointed where she was, an icon of her head placed on top of a region called Bornfield, that was located in the Iron-Nest realm, further located in Mystia, confirming that she wasn’t in her world.
She continued walking, the woods slowly ending and making way for an open field. Once there, Aeliana swiped her hand to the left, closing the system and looked up at the green field, watching as various farmers tended to their animals and crops. Children played about, screaming and giggling in happiness.
Aeliana watched on with fondness, the sight reminding her of home. A home that was no doubt in flames, knowing that Aerion had begun his plans of world domination.
She shook her head, pushing those thoughts down. If her sister and mother were to die, she wished the universe would bring them here.
In this moment, however, she was going to live up to her sister’s wish. She was going to form a party, have an adventure and write her stories.
“Yer lost, young woman?” A gentle feminine voice spoke up. Aeliana snapped her head towards a tanned woman with long brown hair, hazel eyes, who wore a beige kirtle. Aeliana shook her head, a grin spreading across her lips.
“No, I’m not lost ma’am. However, I am very hungry.” She joked. The woman let out a laugh and beckoned the young girl to follow her.
“Well, you are in luck. I cooked too much and I’m more than happy to give you some.” The woman said, her smile growing. “I’m Peggy Field.” She then introduced herself.
“Aeliana Morgaan.” The former knight replied, with a smile of her own.
“A beautiful name for a beautiful young girl.” Peggy complimented. Aeliana let out a bashful chuckle, scratching her orange roots and dragging her fingers down to her black tips.
“Thank you.”
