Description:
The JF-200 is a 6th generation heavy fighter of the New Asian Air Force. It is the most expensive and advanced fighter of the New Asian Air Force, carrying aboard an advanced array of electronic warfare and stealth equipment, including active radar, infrared, and visual masking. It is larger and heavier than all other fighter aircraft, with an impressive top speed and weapons load. It has a distinctive and rather radical overlapping X-shaped wing design, with the top wing sweeping forwards, and the lower wing sweeping backward, which improves wing area and airflow stability during high AOA maneuvers. The raised drooping T-tail design allows for a small cargo chamber, with the loading ramp located in between the four engines, giving the aircraft the ability to act as a troop carrier for frontline rapid insertion/extraction. Pivoting nozzles and lift jets give the aircraft VTOL capabilities when lightly loaded (<35,000kg). Sensor suite fusion is utilized extensively to allow comprehensive information to be presented to the crew. Infrared sights and LIDAR technology allow the crew to operate effectively in low-visibility conditions or at night. The aircraft relies extensively on electronic radio wave canceling via phased array antennas mounted along most of the fuselage and wing leading edges (ARM, “active radar masking”) and jamming to stay undetected, or if detected, un-trackable by most weapon guidance systems.
Variants:
JF-200A (original production variant)
JF-200B (upgraded variant with improved loading ramp and cockpit canopy design)
JF-200C (current standard variant with upgraded radar and increased energy store, at the cost of a slightly smaller cargo chamber)
EJF-200A (electronic warfare variant with most of the cargo chamber and weapon bays taken up by electronic warfare equipment)
CJF-200A (AWACS variant with most of the cargo chamber taken up by aerial command equipment, designed to carry a further 5 personnel)
