Alex was faced with a dangerous predicament; behind him was all of his comrades, who were too wounded to be of use. With his Shadow Blade activated, he mindlessly charged into the midst of all of the mice.
The mice clawed at him and fired their rays.
Alex dodged what he could, and what he couldn’t, he used a new sub skill of Shadow Blade, Shadow Shield. He obtained the sub skill when he was battling Gwenden in his final stage of training.
As he absorbed the light rays, his mana decreased each time it hit him.
He jumped onto the arm of one of the mice, when it swung its arm to hit him.
Alex no longer thought about anything else but killing the mice and spilling their golden blood all over the floor.
He ran up the mouse’s arm, and as he ran, the other mice, who were targeting him now, shot at the mouse he was currently on.
The mouse was targeted by his comrades, and was shot multiple times on the arm and body. Its final death scream pierced Alex’s ears, and caused him to grimace in pain, as he jumped off.
He had now killed one, with 29 more left standing.
Alex re-equipped his pistols, and dual fired them at the opposing mice. Instead of regular ammo, he used Shadow Bullets, and managed to injure a few of them, causing them to slow down.
Alex moved back into the midst of all of the mice, causing them to stumble and hit each other. Their blood was spilling all over the place, and in the center, Alex was drenched in the golden blood of the mice.
Even with his superior battle prowess, Alex was unable to kill them all, and was starting to lose.
Alex, who was lost in bloodlust, managed to take down 3 of the mice, but the rest of them kept on pressing forward.
Alex ran out of both stamina and mana at the same time, and once both of them reached their lowest point he collapsed. His clothing was in tatters, and durability was near 0. All of his ammo, both regular and special, was used up.
Alex fell to the ground, miles away from where he started, and waited to die.
He heard the thunderous boom of the chasing mice, and those that Irene had stunned beforehand, had all recovered.
Facing the horde of tens of giant mice chasing after him, Alex stood there, turned towards them, and then from behind him, was a torrent of bullets.
Standing behind him, appearing out of nowhere, was Mark, equipped with a submachine gun.
Saved in the nick of time, Alex followed his friends and fell down, face hitting the dirt.
Mark stepped over Alex’s body, and moved forward, his gun still in his hand. The mice all stopped in front of him, and Mark open fired again.
This time, his bullets would blow up inside of the mice, causing them to writhe in pain.
But, seeing as how they normally had to hunt the mice in a large group, Mark wasn’t enough to kill them all, and he was already low on both health and mana, due to the fact that he had to escape from the mice after he was captured.
But he persevered, and managed to take down 10 of the oncoming mice, causing a pool of golden ichor to spill on the floor.
The already bloody mice were caught up,slipped, and fell, buying enough time for Alex and Mark to recover enough stamina to escape.
Alex looked into Mark’s eyes, and understood what Mark was trying to do.
Before the mice could get back up again, they moved off in different directions.
Alex went left, and into a side tunnel that led back to the starting position, while Mark ran back, leading the mice away from Alex.
Alex ran to where his friends lay, and saw that most of them had managed to recover their health.
After everyone had prepared to move, Alex and the rest moved in the direction of the dead mice, looting them for their items, such as; Fur, Blood, Teeth, Claws and many more.
Once the looting had finished, they followed Alex to where Mark had run off to.

Mark had run off to a concave area, where they would be able to trap the mice, and then run back for reinforcements. It was the same area where they had faced off 3 mice at the same time.
Mark looked around, and saw that there were multiple dents and scratches on the walls, along with some blood stains, of both Shadow and Light creatures alike.

He ran up into a small area above the entrance to the concave section, and waited for the mice to come, before blowing up the entrance and escaping.

The group that was lagging behind the mice, tried to to attract the attention of the mice, while they chased Mark into the cave.
The mice were stained with blood, and instead of shining white, they shone a golden colour, because of all the blood that was on their fur. Many of them had open cuts, and holes that were leaking blood as they ran.
When they finally entered the cave, they were too fast to slow down and stop, so the first one crashed straight into the wall.
Mark jumped out of his hiding place, and once Alex and the rest saw he had escaped, they bombarded the entrance, causing it to fall down and crush one of the escaping mice.
Once the remaining mice had been successfully trapped in the cave, Mark turned around to face Alex and the rest of the user group.
“THIS IS ALL THATS LEFT?!”
They flinched at how loud the shout was to their ear, and the force that came with it.
Alex then told Mark about how after his capture, most of the force was too confused to do anything, due to the loss of leadership. The mice killed off most, before many regained their senses, and many more were killed when they were arguing about what to do.
“There are more left, but they deserted in the middle of the fight.”
“Well you are the one one’s I’ll consider “alive, the rest will have to be killed for deserting.””
Mark led them back to the entrance of the cave, and conjured horses from the shadows, for them to ride on.
Once they reached the nearest outpost, Mark requested for more troops.
Alex, John, Jack ,Henry and Irene were given the choice of if they wanted to stay, or leave and take on a different quest, because of how difficult it would be.
Alex, John, Jack and Irene all chose to stay, however, Henry was traumatized by his lack of ability to do anything, as he lacked combat skills.
Once the new Extermination force reached the entrance of the mice cave, it was no longer glowing slightly, instead, it was pitch black.
They moved in front of the area with the mice, and everyone started to load up their weapons with AOE damage type ammunition.
A scout was called to look inside of the cave, but when he reported back, to the group’s suprise, there was nothing.
They scoured the entire dungeon looking for the mice, but all they saw were mobs in the 40-50 level range. Nothing was even near the mice’s 80-140 range, after days of searching where the mice might have gone, they stopped.
Mark then disbanded the group, and they all went back to the outpost.
Alex stayed behind in the dungeon, and once he was alone, he began to massacre the low- leveled mobs.
He was furious at the mice that disappeared, and took it out on the small lizards in the dungeon.
Alex had spent the trip over here fantasizing about revenge of his loss, and was hell-bent on getting it.
Everywhere he went, the body parts of the rats would be sent flying. He unconsciously activated his Shadow Aura.
He spent days taking out his anger on the lizards, and they now ran when he approached them. But that didn’t stop Alex, he gave chase, and killed them all.

Back in the main base, the Commander read over Mark’s report, and next to him, was the old man Alex had run into on his first day. There was a large problem brewing behind the scenes,
as the Factions of Light and Dark faced off against each other.

Once Alex had gotten over his rage in the cave, he exited with a new title “ The One Who is Relentless”
After he left the cave, any adventurer who visited these caves would find a large amount of bodies, and the stench of rotting flesh. Those brave enough to venture deeper inside the cave would not find a single living creature.
Alex started to walk back to the outpost, to where he would be teleported back to the main base.
