To day was the day!
Big brother was getting married to his sweet heart and both were on cloud nine. I, on the other hand was not really thrilled. Don't get me wrong, I was happy for them and all. But getting stuck in a chair in my sunday best with a tie a bit to tight for my neck had me anxiously gripping the sides of my chair and shifting my feet trying to get enough friction to calm my jumpy mind.
The wedding decorations were arranged on a golf course so the guests faced a raised platform with a alter for the ceremony. A single lane road that went around the golf course ran behind the platform as it bordered between the platform and a large lake that was the main feature of the golf course.
I was luckily had a seat in the middle of the row so the social butterfly's could not easily get to me. But the weight of so much on humanity weighed on my mind as a crowd for my antisocial self was like hot peppers on the way out - burning hot. I was surrounded by friends and family that I had not seen for years each trying to say hello, all the while I tried to sink lower and lower in my seat as my eagerness to be here was rapidly vanishing like dew before a hot summer sun.
As the time came closer the more energized the crowd became. Shouted greetings, jokes, and good natured cursing rebounded, crying young ones and classical music merged into a cacophony that reduced me to slamming my heel into the leg of my chair to keep myself sane and cognitive.
The priestess climbed up the platform and motioned for the congregation to quiet down. The crowd partially quieted but was still yapping and laughing away. She turned and grabbed a microphone from its stand and skilfully shut down the noise makers in the crowd. And so the ceremony began.

The bride appeared at the rear of seating and walked down the asile to the platform holding a bouquet of roses with flower girls throwing poppies before her. The bride and the flower girls were dressed in flowing dresses of black lace.
With the bride and her entourage arrayed on the platform, a hunting horn sounded and my older brother, the madman, rode down the asile on a white horse clad in a white suit modified so that the inner thighs of his pants where white leather and the rest of his pants where of white cloth. He dismounted his horse, handed the reigns to a waiting attendant. and bounded up the steps to the platform beaming from ear to ear.
The priestess after a few words began the ceremony,
Will you take this woman as your lawfull wife?
I do
Will you take this man as your lawful husband I do?
I do
I started to drift off as the ceremony continued until I was jolted awake my a loud horn sounded as a large semi was coming down the road at a rapid rate. As everyone turned to glare at the intrusion the semi's engine roared and speed up.
I seeing the disturbance as a plausible excuse started to extract myself from my seat in a effort to the edge of the crowd. As I was almost to the ege of the crowd the approaching speeding semi swerved and crashed to the platforms edge sending the priestess and decorations flying. As the shock registered, some of the crowd surged forward while the disinterested took out thier phones and started to take selfies with the wreckage.
My big brother took off his now worse for wear white suit jacket and put it on his bride as the blood from injuries from flying decorations was plain for all to see. Big brother then turned around and headed to the smoking semi's cab.
