My story started from my earliest memory. I was three years old when I was playing in my room with that teddy bear that had a golden bow. It had been my birthday the day before and I received that teddy bear from my parents. I was wearing my blue onesie, surrounded with joyful and cheerful emotions between the arms of my loving parents in a pile of stuffed toys. That moment I felt like I had everything I ever wanted and like I had the “perfect” life. My mother, Jealene, had beautiful hazel eyes, golden brown hair, and a smile that could melt your heart. My father, Arton, on the other hand had a more stern look in his eyes. He had dark brown eyes and a look which could often come out as a bit scary. I had brown eyes, and light brown hair. Every day I had became more and more sure that I would spend all my life filled with joy and luck, like those few years. As I was just a child, I couldn’t understand my parents`s arguments sometimes. Neither all the hightened voices and mean words they would throw to each other. Few years had passed of me still believing I had the ideal life I wanted. As every child has to, it was time for me to begin a new chapter in my life. Once second I was at home, playing with my toys all day, my body filled with positive energy and happiness. Then, the next second the fearful emotions dominate over my body. I’m suddenly standing in front of a big building with my mom next to me dragging me by the arm inside of the building while I tug away and try to run. She suddenly stopped dragging my arm, paused and kneeled down matching my height. She had a calming expression on her face, while patting my head and reassuring me that everything would be fine. “you`ll do just great, don’t you worry Adiel. You will make friends here and have fun all day. Guess what? You`re even going to learn some new things here!”. As I still had a confused but scared look on my face, my mom pulled my arm and took me inside of the building. I saw children running around and playing games. There were several women dressed similar having a conversation. After a minute of walking down the hallway we saw a desk and a lady working there. She greeted me and my mother with a very generous smile. She shook my mom`s hand followed by the words “Welcome to East Shores Elementary School”. A school? I didn’t know anything about a school. Apperantly the building that my mom had dragged me into was for learning and having fun. She had brought a backpack with her, gave me the backpack, kissed my forehead followed by the words “see you soon…”. Those words increased the curiosity of what she could possibly mean. She quickly walked out the doors without looking back. I turned around to face the kids but they we no longer there. The hallway was empty, only with me and the pretty lady with a generous smile. She reassured me that my mother would be back very soon and guided me through the hallway into a big white door. She then told me to enter inside and introduce myself. The look on my face describes a discombobulated feeling. As I entered inside I could feel everybody’s eyes on me. I was the last one to come in, and I noticed around 20 other children just like me. There was a woman standing in front of me. She was fairly young, had long blonde hair, ocean blue eyes and a heartwarming smile. She welcomed me into the new class. I had straight away noticed all the tables, chairs, toys, and the colourful room which she called ”a classroom”. The children in the classroom had waited for me to introduce myself, but instead, I got very embarrassed and awkward so I just walked over to an empty chair that had been reserved for me, next to a brown haired girl with light green eyes. I became even more embarrassed when the woman said “would the students like to introduce themselves?” as I didn’t have a clue of what we should have done. Luckily one of the children stood up and said “My name is Lorrey Shackling” followed by the similar introduction by the other children. At that point I had remembered the names of most of the children and I had been the only one left that hasn’t said a word yet. The woman who they called a “teacher” told me to introduce myself like the other students did. I slowly stood up noticing all the looks of the children pointed towards me. I didn’t have control over the fact that my heart started pounding faster and my hands and legs started shaking. I could feel my voice cracking as I started speaking. My heart dropped when I saw the confused looks on the children. At that time I thought “what is wrong with me? Why can`t I be like the other kids?”.
