Some weaker people immediately ran away or got hurt and surrendered. Meanwhile some stronger ones crushed the clones the very first second of battle. The entire crowd was watching silently.
Hielo looked at all the participants disdainfully.
Do they think they’re something special because they can defeat people one cultivation layer above them? he thought.
Though there was one he kept an eye on. A girl from his own clan, the Fire Bird clan, a phoenix like him. But she was a normal fire phoenix. He liked her. There are many good talents here. Of course his son Hielo was unmatched. But many here still had potenial to become a Great Emperor, maybe even a Celestial Emperor. Who knows? thought Master Fuego.
Chispa didn’t feel like she could win the entire tournament. But she could go far atleast.
“Brother, Father.” said Chispa respectfully to them.
Master Fuego and Hielo stood up and both looked pleased.
“You did well Chispa.” said Hielo. He patted her head and smiled his killer smile.
She blushed a bit. But faked a cough and said “Thank you big brother! Father how did I do?”
“I think you did a good job Chispa.” said her father.

Hielo thought that Chispa did well. And he showed it by patting her head. “Let’s go and eat.” he said.
“Yes.” said Master Fuego. They all walked together to the main hall and people looked at them with admiration.
They really are a powerhouse! thought some in the crowd.
The main hall was a beautiful palace with luxurious decorations. The eating hall was gigantic, thousands of people could be in there. There were some seats made of abtruse crystals. Abtruse crystals are very powerful assests for Zun cultivators as they use abtruse energies. But for emperors they are useless. Those seats were for powerful families and of course, Hielo’s family sat down there.
After eating all the participants went to practice cultivation in the Black Fire Mountain. It was a place with very dense and thick Qi so it was an idealistic choice to practice cultivation.
“I’m off to practice cultivation with the time we have left. I feel like I’m very close to becoming an empress!” said Chispa cheerfully.
“Alright good luck!” said Master Fuego.
“Thank you!” said Chispa, then she used their family’s agility technique Fire Steps to basically teleport to the cultivation rooms.

A few hours later cosmic energies clouds started forming in the sky and cosmic energies cleansed a cultivator. Everyone in the crowd wondered who had broken through the Huang Qi layer. And at the tournament? That’s amazing! It must have been a cultivator who had gained insight when fighting.
Hielo and his father smiled like they knew what had happened. Chispa had become an empress! And she was just 15 years old! If Hielo didn’t exist, she would probably be praised as the most talented!
Chispa came out and everyone noticed that she had become an empress.
“That’s amazing!” said someone in the crowd.
Master Chi laughed and put his hands on Chispa’s shoulder. “I guess your brother didn’t steal all talent.” he said.
“That’s the Fire Bird Clan for you! All cultivators there are very talented!” said someone else in the crowd.
Master Fuego was very proud of his children. Though he didn’t show it.
“Alright. It’s time to start the main tournament!” he said.
