SENIOR YEAR
"Why does he have to sit by me in every class we have together?"
"Why does he always ask me to be his partner in every group assignment?"
"Why can't I ever focus when he's around me?"
He's just a boy. A very tall, very nice, really cute boy.
His hair is pretty messy today. I wonder... "Miss Henry?"

Crap. I shake my head from my daydream and look around. The whole class is staring at me including Mrs. Meyers, who I think is waiting for me to answer some question she just asked. I smile and try to give her my best innocent face while silently apologizing.
'I'm sorry, what was the question?". My classmates snicker as Mrs. Meyers shakes her head and tells me to pay attention. I slump down in my desk feeling my skin getting hot from embarrassment. If I didn't have a tan complexion, I most definitely would be as red as a tomato right now.
When the bell rings, I slowly gather my things and watch as Jonah walks out of the classroom.
"You have it bad, girl." my best friend Tessa says as we walk into the hallway.
"I know, I know. But you know I've been crushing since middle school. Nothing new here." I say with a shrug.
But she's right. I do have it bad. I've had it bad for Jonah McCarthy since 6th grade. Sad thing is, he also knows it too.
