Short and fast chapter.
Ryle Crawford POV
------------------------------------
I was born of a lower noble. I do not like the life of a noble. ‘Meaningless’ was what I thought. I desired adventure. Not the life of getting stepped on.
Finally getting the approval from my father, I joined the life of an adventure.
I climbed my way up living as an adventure; I trained and fought harder than anyone. I was strong, cocky and haughty. Nobody can match up to me, A S ranked adventurer. A monster was what people said.
Parties from adventure guild wanted me. And even famous independent guilds heard about me.
I joined a party, they were good hearted people. A party of 5 A ranked adventure. We fought, we sing, we laugh, we drink. They were my beloved friends. Then, I suggested challenging a dragon. They agreed. And that was a fatal decision I made in life.
We journeyed to the dragon’s dwelling. A massive red fury dragon. We fought, we lost. 3 of our members died. 2 heavily injured. And I, escaped. I was a coward. I stood unmoved, trembling at the scene of that dragon. They defended me with their life.
I ran, carrying both of them back to town. I was strong, but not stronger than a dragon. Both of them retired. Leaving the adventurous life away and took their job as a farmer.
I thought of quitting the life as an adventure too, but the then- guild master smacked me, waking me up. “Do not repeat the same mistake” was what I learnt. But it was too late; I lost 3 of my beloved friends. I cried, I grieved. Craving their will into my heart.

The guild master was a monster beyond me. I begged him to train me. I want to get stronger. Not for revenge, but for the sake of my friends. Their will I inherit. He agreed.
I trained under him for several years until he passed away due to old age. Nobody can escape death. And I knew, at that time, I was just lucky.
I got stronger, way stronger than before. I stand above everyone. I was appointed the next guild master. But I was not cocky, I learnt my limit.
Then, One day, a disturbance caused by a different existence. He broke the town’s barrier. Even S ranked monsters have difficulty. What is he? I could feel the immense aura leaking out. It’s heavy. Never in my life have I felt this kind of pressure. Not even the dragon.
I approached him. He looked normal. Too normal. Silvery hair, Red fiery eye and small build. He looked weak. But don’t judge. I knew I could not. I was already trembling. My instinct was telling me to escape, to flee for my life. But I can’t. I have my responsibility as a guild master.
We talked. We agreed. He was not to go on rampage. But who knows? He will keep his promise? But I understood, we stood no chance, probably even with the kingdom’s armies. He was a monster. No ….. Something way beyond a monster.
What was his objective here? I asked. He smirked, rubbing his chin. It was creepy. It sends Chill down my spine.
I hope he is not planning anything.
