Faithful Meeting

Faithful Meeting

Aya Cruz,

You go to the rooftop this afternoon 4:00.

Xxx

It was a small note, but why need an envelope?

"Oh, that's like, 30 minutes from now." Hanna said while looking at her wrist watch.

" come on girl, you must go." Jennie said.

But I think differently. " Come on, girls. This is just a prank." Sabi si Aya.

The two frowned at what Aya said. Hanna folded her arms while Jennie placed one hand on her waist.

"And why?" Hanna's eyebrows rose. " If you are afraid, we can come with you."

Jennie nodded. "well?"

Aya thought, it was her first time to get something like this. Love letter? Aya don't think so. She's too young to be accommodating to people like that. Besides, she's not yet interested in having a boyfriend especially that no one knows what her special powers are. If any of her secret admirers found out (if he really is a secret admirer, and not just a prank), he might just faint with fear.

"I don't think this is a good idea." Aya protested. "I'll just go home, if this won't stop by tomorrow, I'll deal with whoever it is."

With that, Aya closed the locker and went her way. Hanna and Jennie did nothing but obey.

Aya went to school early, she didn't sleep much because of the letter that was put in her locker yesterday so she woke up early too.

She went to the locker to get her things when she noticed a letter was placed in front of her row of books..

"Another letter?" in Aya's mind.

While Hanna and Jennie weren't there yet that she knew were just messing with her, she opened the envelope to reveal the letter.

Aya Cruz,

I waited yesterday but you did not come. I will wait again later. If you haven't come yet, I will meet you myself.

The tone of whoever wrote it is quite demanding. He was waiting yesterday. Later he will wait again. What is his plan? Aya thought this all to herself.

She didn't bother telling Hanna and Jennie about the letter when the two arrived in the classroom. They were busy preparing for the quiz later on calculus.

The teacher asked Aya if she would join their quiz as she is just new to the class. Aya said that she already knows the lesson so she will join the quiz.

She was also able to prepare last night, because she couldn't sleep, she just took the time to study for the quiz until her eyes became heavier by 2:30 AM. She pushed back the thoughts of having received a 'love letter' by someone anonymous that she didn't know if she knew or not.

She only knows a couple of names inside her classroom, she doesn't know anyone outside of her class yet.

The class has already started as well as their exam. She knows a couple of the questions, thank goodness. Aya is not really as smart as what you may read from other books. She do just fine to get a fairly satisfied mark. She knows that she must kept a low-key profile so she won't be able to get so much attention and discover what her family does.

So at the end of the quiz, Aya got more than half of the item correctly giving her a passing mark. It's not bad to think, pass if pass.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

The day passed by peacefully for Aya and her friends. But the time had come for her to meet the one who had sent her the letter. Will she go or not? What if it's just a prank and make her wait until the closing hours of school? Or maybe it's just a trap and she'll be damned there?

Aya doesn't think of it much. She didn't inform Jennie and Hanna because they were definitely after gossip when they found out.

" Aya, you haven't come home yet?" Hanna asked her when Aya was going somewhere else.

" Ahh. No, I have things to do yet." Aya's excuse.

"Where?" Asked Jennie.

"Uhmm.. Library. I have something to research." Aya lied. Well not really. She will actually go to the library but not because of research but to pass the time and deal with her letter sender. Aya didn’t want to think it was a secret admirer.

Hanna and Jennie went home first while Aya went to the library. The library is just located opposite to the hallway of the second floor classrooms.

The library is divided into two sections, with elementary sections composed of children's books. There are also high school sections composed of encyclopedias, atlases, and other fiction books for teenagers.

Aya browsed through the fiction books sections and was very delighted to see Harry Potter series. She's been a fan of harry potter ever since she laid eyes on one of its films. She has the collections of the movies and the books but she left them in Manila. One of these days, she will read again those books.

She was already reading the chapter four of the book when she look at her wristwatch. Their meeting time is near. She sighed at the feeling of not being able to read further but Aya promised to herself that she would return to borrow the said book.

She stand up, returned the book to the shelves and went to the rooftop. Carrying the small note placed in her locker, she bravely took the stairs that will lead her to the rooftop. She was trained in martial arts for defense since she was young and she hopes she will remember some of it if her situation is ever dangerous now.

She opened the door and went to the place. She scanned the place and her eyes catch an unfamiliar boy at the corner, seemingly looking at the bottom of the school. His back facing her.

She approached the man but before she could even speak something...

"Aya Cruz, right?" Said the boy. His back facing her.

"Yes." Aya replied. " Did you send the note earlier?"

The boy nodded and he slowly turned to face Aya.

"Kai?" Aya's eyes widened. Kai Reyes. The most handsome boy in school. This is her classmate and the women are really teasing him. How could it be?

Kai's eyes went shining. "EHHHH!!! You know me??!!" he looked like a kid when Aya probably knew him.

"uhmm.. I guess so?" she said frowning.

"Guess? So you just guessed my name?" Gradually the luster in the man's eyes disappeared.

What? Aya was confused.

"No, I kind of know you." Aya said.

"Hmmmmm.. Kind of." Kai's eyes turned into a puppy sad eyes. He pouted his lips as if sulking.

Aya didn't know what to think. How come a heartthrob guy acting like this?

"No. I mean of course I know you." Aya's smile hesitated. "You're a...."

Kai looked at her. His eyes gleaned again as he waited for Aya to answer.

"...handsome and smart classmate." Aya urged herself not to raise her voice like she was questioning herself. But what she said is really a big question.

Kai's face turned from a crying puppy to a confident handsome young man (That was quick) to face Aya.

" Well, you'll never see a handsome man like this." Kai said confidently and Aya felt as if suddenly there was a strong wind.

"So what brings you to my presence?" Kai asked.

Aya frowned. Didn't he send a letter to Aya that they would meet and then he would ask why Aya was there.

Aya lifted the note for Kai to see.

"Ahh. That letter." Kai remembered. " I remember that."

"What do you want?" Aya asked.

Kai look straight to her eyes, expression turning serious.

"I know you can see ghosts." Kai finally said.

Aya was shocked. He knows? How? When? What will he do now? More importantly, what will Aya do in this situation?
