As I wake up, a splitting headache throbs through my skull. The cold emanates from the floor, making me shiver. I glance out the window and it's pitch-black outside. Silence envelops the room. Checking the clock, I realize it's eight o'clock in the evening. I felt a chill run through my spine as I recognized that I wasn't the only one in the room I slowly turned around scanning my surroundings.

The kitchen.

The living room.

The closed bathroom.

I quietly and slowly move towards the corner of the living room.

THERE. I..

I...

I SAW IT.

I saw something peeking through the living room window. I quickly turned on the light, and they disappeared. I tried to calm myself down, but my body was sweating all over, and my heart was pounding so hard that my chest hurt.

I close my eyes to calm down, but I can still see it very clearly even if I close them. I couldn't control my breathing I could hear footsteps slowly getting closer.

Thud.

...

Thud.

I open my eyes to see a disfigured person coming close to me.

Beside me, on the wall, I could see fishes, frogs, and snakes melted to the wall.

I hurried to the switchboard and switched on all of the lights.

He.. He was gone!!

In the corner of my eye, I could make out the fish and snakes melted in the wall; when I looked at the wall, they disappeared.

I could see a golden eye staring at me from the corner of the window.

I take deep breaths without closing my eyes and calm myself down.

"You Can't Scare Me Yuu("ghost" with the golden eyes). STFU and I know kung fu" I said while making gestures of a martial artist.

With that, I calmed myself down. I pick up Timmy (Kazuki in a high-pitched voice)" Ahh Kazuki -sama don't be scared because we have each other"

"STFU Timmy I am not scared you are!" I exclaim to Timmy

"Anyway, Timmy, let's make sure all the doors are shut and all the lights are on. You're coming with me OK?"

(Kazuki in a high-pitched voice)"Alright kazuki-sama let's do this"

I ensured that all the doors were locked and all the lights were kept on so that everything was full of the light I needed.

"Deep breaths, Kazuki. You can do this." Once I've calmed down and collected my thoughts, I take my shirt off and embrace the floor. The floor here comprises tiles instead of tatami mats, making me close to the earth.

I don't know if there is a scientific reason for this but ever since I was little sleeping on the grassy field under the shade of trees. Maybe it's because it reminds me of that time, which is probably why it calmed me down now. "Now, I put my shirt back on. Since I'm not an effing exhibitionist" I don't have much appetite today so I decided to skip my meal tonight.

I look outside the window, it's dark outside and probably cold. So I put on a muffler and sweater and decided to walk outside. I've always wanted to do this when I was a little kid. Just as I imagined the city is illuminated by street lights and the sound of vehicles moving it's like the city is a living organism that twists and turns according to the will of the humans living there. It might come off as I'm not too fond of it or something but I like it very much here it's like you are never alone so I feel way better.

So, hoping to get to know it better, I lock the door behind me and stroll outside.

(Kazuki in a high-pitched voice) "OMG Kazuki-sama you brought me with you that's so sweet"

"Shut up Timmy you are here to be my emotional support"

(Kazuki in a high-pitched voice)"But I thought you liked being alone Kazuki-sama"

"Timmy sometimes yes I would love to be alone but that doesn't mean I don't feel lonely"

(Kazuki in a high-pitched voice)"OMG Kazuki-sama, if you feel lonely call your girlfriend oh- wait you are maidenless my bad and might I add, friendless"

"god damn it, Timmy. You sure are rubbing it in huh?."

"Well anyways let's explore a bit, and of course, we will avoid the places that are too dark Timmy."

"Alright Timmy let's tread these unknown parts of this organism. Go spy for me, Timmy. (Throws Timmy into the next street hiding behind an electric pole)"

"What do you see Timmy?"

(Kazuki in a high-pitched voice)"Gahh Kazuki-sama that hurts."

"I don't care Timmy now shut up and tell me what you see?"

As I passionately recounted a rather ridiculous dramatic sequence, I was suddenly interrupted by the sound of laughter behind me. Upon turning around, I discovered a small boy and his mother amused by my antics. Feeling embarrassed, I swiftly altered my behavior and hastened to leave the scene while carrying Timmy with me. After that unable to bear the embarrassment, my face became flushed and so warm that I could feel the cold air brushing my cheeks. I returned home and decided to continue this endeavor next holiday.
