The air turned bone-chillingly silent as the sound of the chainsaw echoed through the trial ground.
But that silence was short-lived as the group of mortals erupted in fury.
"Bastard, what have you done!?"
"Have you lost your goddamn mind? How could you do something like that!?"
"He must be a lunatic! Everyone, quickly get away from that madman!"
The crowd furiously spewed curses at Samuel. The earlier scene of a little kid getting brutally cut in half by a chainsaw was just too cruel of a sight for their fragile hearts. But not one person dared to step forward and take action against him; fear had already crept deep into their hearts.
"Noisy." Samuel coldly snorted, he was starting to get annoyed.
He quickly scanned his surroundings, then ferociously charged toward the trembling old woman near him, slashing down with his chainsaw.
Clang!
The old lady's eyes widened with terror as the chainsaw and sword clashed. Her feeble hands trembled, struggling to defend herself from the impending danger. But, how could an old woman with a foot in the grave compete with a young and vigorous youth like Samuel?
Alas, Samuel quickly overpowered her. The deafening noise of the chainsaw drowned out her pitiful cries as it mercilessly sliced off her ugly head, splattering fresh blood on the snow-white floor.

With a sinister grin, Samuel focused his attention on a middle-aged man standing just a few feet before him.
As Samuel's cold gaze locked onto him, the man shuddered, feeling an icy chill run down his spine. He took a step back fearfully, while his fingers clenched tightly around the steel rod.
Samuel kicked the severed head toward him and dashed forward. The middle-aged man hastily dodged the flying head and focused on Samuel again. However, Samuel was already in front of him, brandishing his chainsaw with murderous intent.
With deadly momentum, Samuel slashed down, aiming to cut the man in half. However, the middle-aged man somehow managed to block the chainsaw with the steel rod, foiling his attack just in the nick of time.
Samuel didn't even blink. He immediately grabbed one end of the steel rod with his left hand and slid down the chainsaw towards the man's tightly clenched fists, with a chilling intent to chop the man's fingers off.
The middle-aged man's pupils shrunk in terror, and he quickly relinquished his hold on the rod, instinctively protecting his hands from the menacing chainsaw.
However, much to his misfortune a steel rod came hurtling at his round head, ruthlessly striking his skull. Instantly, his vision blurred, and a wave of dizziness overwhelmed him.
Seizing the opportunity, Samuel didn't hesitate and quickly followed through. The next second, the middle-aged man's headless corpse lay peacefully on the cold floor, lifeless and bloody.

As the mechanical voice echoed once more, Samuel experienced something truly unique this time around. A strand of golden energy surged from the ground, flowing into his body and strengthening his bones, organs, and muscles. It then wrapped around his chainsaw, enhancing the sharpness of its razors and greatly improving its speed, making it a weapon of even greater peril than before.
This was the result of upgrading his weapon-body Constitution, With each point gained, Samuel's body and weapon became stronger. This was something everyone here was unaware of, and even Samuel had just found out about it now.
'Such a mystical feeling, it's both soothing and addictive at the same time. Undoubtedly, killing them was the right choice.' Samuel thought as joy blossomed in his heart.
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Previously, when there were no changes even after the trial had begun, Samuel found it strange that no abnormalities occurred even after ten to fifteen minutes had passed. Carefully recalling the trial's contents, one detail immediately stood out to him - the mention that there could only be 10 inheritors. If more people remained by the end, the trial would be considered a failure, and as a result, everyone participating would certainly die.
A realization struck Samuel like lightning; the trial wasn't about facing external forces, but rather, it involved fighting against internal forces. The trial was a bloody fight for survival, where participants must eliminate one another. Only when ten people remained standing in the end would the trial be considered a success. The image of that godly figure looking down on mortals, killing thousands without so much as a blink, amplified this crazy theory in Samuel's mind.
Buzz Buzz Buzz...
The Chainsaw's two rows of razor-sharp blades started to move violently, emitting a wild sound, causing others' hearts to shiver upon hearing its buzzing.
With a loud laugh, Samuel unleashed a bloody massacre. After killing three mortals, his strength had almost doubled, and as he continued his killing spree, he only grew stronger with each life he stole. These weak mortals were definitely not his match!
The huge number of human casualties meant nothing to him; he butchered them like pigs, showing no mercy as he carried out the bloody slaughter.
Samuel's black hair danced in the wind, his eyes were like fierce lightning. He looked like an evil god that emerged from the depths of purgatory, slaughtering his way into the human realm.
"Everyone, let's attack together and kill him!"
"That's right, there is strength in numbers... Ahhh!"
The mortals started to gang up and assault Samuel with eyes full of hatred and madness. They had battled till their eyes turned red, only fighting remained in their minds.
These mortals tried to fight, but they were utterly defeated and killed by Samuel.
[Trial ends in 20min 26seconds]
"What a pleasure..." Samuel closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. He felt a warm sensation coursing through his body, strengthening every fiber of his being and sharpening his mind as if he had just been reborn.
By now, he had ruthlessly slain three to four hundred mortals, and his strength had undergone an overall transformation, reaching new heights that he had never imagined before.
"Ahhh–!!"
Suddenly, a miserable cry echoed from one corner of the palace.
Samuel's gaze turned towards the source of the noise, and a cold smirk formed on his face as intense killing intent surged out from him.
In his line of sight, Samuel witnessed a young woman holding a sword that had just pierced the heart of another girl.
'Looks like they are beginning to figure it out, and it should be fairly obvious at this point. Just from the fact that I alone can fight against hundreds of people, they should have realized that something is wrong. No, that's not it, even if they had discovered it earlier, they might have lacked the resolve to forge ahead with their decision. If that is the case, then they are truly pathetic!'
'Being restrained by one's values even in such a deadly situation, how lamentable!' Samuel thought with a hint of disdain as he forcefully slammed his hand onto a youth's head. Blood started to pour out from the youth's orifices, and he collapsed to the ground with a resounding thud.
Samuel laughed heartily as his body moved quickly, continuing the slaughter. Since these people were going to die anyway, they might as well die at his hands and contribute to his path of success.
The massacre continued until there were only 4 minutes and 8 seconds left.
Samuel coldly glanced at the slaughterhouse, the majestic palace was filled with innumerable corpses lying everywhere. Only ten mortals, including Samuel, remained standing upright with their blood-bathed bodies.
The brutal trial had finally ended. Samuel felt an urge within him to get rid of the remaining nine people right away.
The idea of facing such variables in the future was unpleasant to him; who knew if there would be another clash down the road. It was best to cut them down now since he was sure that he was the strongest at the moment.
But to his misfortune, an unknown force was restraining him, making it impossible for him to even budge.
"Congratulations on passing this trial, you have earned yourselves a reward." A cold and emotionless voice suddenly resounded throughout the heavenly palace. "Try to mentally summon the light screen, it should appear before your eyes. Only you can see your personal light screen, but, of course, I can still see it."
"Quickly collect your rewards and get out of here. If you are still here after a minute, you will be eradicated. Your time starts now!"
Samuel didn't dare anger this supreme existence. He mentally willed, and a light screen suddenly manifested before him.

'Eternal Chaos, Mask Of Deception...' Samuel calmly stared at the glowing screen, a light of curiosity flickered past his eyes. He wanted to quickly read the description of his newly acquired innate skill and cultivation manual, but time was running out rapidly.
Next, his gaze turned complex as he stared at the word 'Transmigration' on the stary light screen. After taking a deep breath to calm himself, he glanced at the nine remaining inheritors, etching their faces deep into his heart.
"This is going to be a real pain." Samuel sighed, feeling helpless as he shook his head before declaring:
"Begin transmigration."
