This is my first fanfic as well as my first attempt to write any type of story so I'll be experimenting with different writing styles and the time line may be a bit wibbly wobbly. I've written two prologues both can be read or not and it will not effect understanding in chapter one, as I plan to reiterate some things as I go.
The first prologue I kind of wrote on the fly, so it's kind of shot from your hip and get stray bullets in your friends butt. Enjoy.
Prologue 1 Jack and Jill:
Jack was running late to the OBGYN. The thought of the wrath of his overly hormonal pregnant wife, made Jack spint the last 100 meters. He arrived sweating and out of breath which did much to erase the disgruntled look from Jills pretty face.
'A for effort but not out of hot water yet' he thought.
He came over to where she sat and kissed her cheek while murmuring.
"Sorry I couldn't find parking."
She was opening her mouth to say something when a female voice called out behind him.
"Mrs. Smith, this way please to room four."
Jill got her rotund figure out of the chair with the assistance of her husband and followed the nurse leaving a relived Jack to follow.
'Just in the nick of time' he thought.
He arrived in room four just as the nurse was handing over a paper smock.
"Please change, Dr. Evil will be with you shortly." the nurse said, closing the door on her way out. Jack couldn't decide if the nurse was efficient or just abrupt.
"I hate changing into these things, I thought I was just doing a follow up for the DNA testing, why to I have to wear this."

Jill grumbled as she exchanged her maternity dress for the hated paper smock. She sat on the exam table to take off her shoes as Jack replied
"Well we've already payed for an office visit might as well check under the hood." causing Jill to chuck a shoe in his direction. With reflexes born of uncounted repetition of similar past matrimonial missiles he caught the shoe in midair and put in down next of it's mate. Jill smiled at him and again was about to say something when the Doctor knocked on the door and came in after getting permission to enter.
Dr. Evil was an older lady whose platinum blonde hair had aged gracefully to silver without much notice. She was an excellent Obstetrician and was in high demand. The Smiths had gone to her for that reason but stayed because of her bedside manner. So when she came in with a serious professional face instead of her usual warm smile and banter, Jack got a bad feeling the the pit of his stomach.
"Good morning Mr and Mrs. Smith" said Dr. Evil in a calm but subdued voice.
"Good morn... what's wrong with the test results!" Jill demanded immediately intuiting something was up and was never one to beat around the bush. Jack came over to the the exam table Jill was sitting on and put an arm around his wife, pulling her close.
Dr. Evil eyes filled with empathy and said.
"There's really no easy way to say this but your child is...
