He who is known as the Hollow Knight without a name for his name has lost to time. Drifting through the endless expanse of the void, his consciousness adrift in a sea of darkness. Memories flickered like distant stars, illuminating fragments of his own past with a haunting clarity. He remembered the towering figure of his father, his dead pale colored face, his stern gaze and the weight of his expectations pressing down upon him like chains.
As he struggled against the suffocating emptiness that threatened to consume him, he couldn't help but wonder why his father rejected him and sealed him within that this timeless prison and why he dubbed him a "Failure". Was it out of fear? Or perhaps a misguided sense of duty? The answers eluded him, lost amidst the swirling currents of his fractured mind.
Amidst the swirling chaos of the void, he paused, his mind swirling with questions and doubts. With a weary sigh, he spoke aloud, the sound of his voice echoing throughout the emptiness.
"Why father?" he murmured, the words carrying a weight of longing and resentment. "Why seal me away in this timeless, cold, painful prison? What sins of the past must I atone for?"
But the void offered no answers, only a cold and indifferent silence that mocked his pain. With each passing moment he felt the tendrils of despair getting tighter and tighter to drs him further into the abyss.
However in that dark, cold, timeless, cruel prison a single light was formed, it formed within his heart which made him more determined to escape his own prison.
Drawing upon reserves of strength he never knew he had he gripped the chains that held him down. Forcefully he pushed and pushed himself out the chains even injuring him as long as he could escape.
He reached out to the void's power as if to absorb it as his own to escape with it and combine it with the light of of his newfound determination. With all his might he escaped the chains that held him down now running towards a single fragment of light.
As approached and grabbed the light he was enveloped by it as he rose from the void like a newfound Phoenix.
Landau Family Manor, 4th Era 345th Day, Loakholm Month
"Yhael, come down you'll be late!"
a faint adult female voice could be heard outside the young boy's room.
Yhael Zekard Landau, 4th child of Liam Landau and Theresa Landau as well as the 2nd son and youngest. Now possessed by the Hollow Knight is currently laying in his large bedroom that could be described with two words, over the top and magnificent.
Yhael's eyes flickered open as he slowly got up his bed and shouted back.
"Coming mother!"
The once former knight of the abyss looked at himself in a large mirror to see a young male teenager of around 176 cm and had abyssal black eyes with his skin tone being pale white he could he considered ill and combined with black hair that reached his shoulders.
"That's me?" he inspected his own face carefully still dazed from the suddenly transportation to a new body.
After finishing inspecting his own body he went out from his room and went down to the kitchen.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
Reaching the kitchen he is met with a beautiful silver haired woman with hair that reached her shoulder and wore a business suit with a sword placed around the left side of her belt.
"You're late, care to explain yourself Yhael?" her eyes were stern so as her voice.
The Hollow Knight now Yhael stumbled upon his words as he realized the woman in front of him was now his mother. He shook his head and spoke with calmly.
"I overslept mother,"
Theresa sighed as she placed a plate of well cooked scrambled eggs combined with hotdogs and fried rice.
"Hurry up and eat your breakfast, I'll be waiting in the car dear" She spoke, her voice losing the sternness of her tone replacing it with the warmth of a mother's gentle voice.
After finishing his breakfast, Yhael quickly headed outside and got in the a beautiful silver car of his mother.
"Have you thought of a course to join yet?" Theresa asked while starting up the vehicle.
Yhael who was focusing on recalling the memories of himself as young boy looked up at his mother confused.
"Sorry, what was that again mother?"
Theresa replied with a sigh and spoke once more.
"The course you will be training in either in certain weapon or magic which one will you be choosing?"
Yhael being the Hollow Knight already had the mastered ability of the sword and even bow and lance, so he replied with the only choice you left.
"Magic, mother"
Theresa looked back at the road as she started driving and spoke back.
"That so? Well you better start searching for weapons imbued with magic."
Right, Yhael was born without a mana core the very thing that would allow him to even be able to use magic at an early age but he could never not until now where he can use trinkets or weapons imbued with magic.
In this world most children are born with mana cores that start at the most basic tier being Yellow Sun, the second tier being Ocean Blue, the third being Flaming Orange, the fourth being Crimson Blood, the fifth being Abyssal Black, and the sixth being Pure White.
Then there is the Primordial tiers, which are Lost Purple, Dreaming Green, and finally Godly Cyan, however unlike normal mana cores you must break the limits of the Pure White mana core if you even wanna reach one of the Primordial tiers.
With only 10 people being able to reach the primordial tiers thus they were given the title of Demi-God because they're power were really that of a demi-god.
But what about the people born without a core well they were considered lesser beings by most especially by the nobles of the world.
Only Yhael was a special case since he was the son of Liam Landau, the 17th Lord of House Landau, and was a master of the Black Dragon Sword Style and of course reached the highest rank of a swordsman that being a Sword God.
Even then Yhael was still considered lesser by most nobles, but they didn't say it in public due to the fact he was the son of two of the most powerful beings in Etheria. While he did not have a mana core, Yhael trained in the way of the sword under the Pure Sword Style reaching the rank of King while reaching the rank of Master in the Blood Blossom Sword Style.
Combining this knowledge and the knowledge of being the Hollow Knight, Yhael can possibly become the Strongest Swordsman in Etheria.
After a quick 30 minute drive they finally arrive at Xyrax Academy one of the best schools for aspiring warriors, mages, scholars and such.
"Alright, are you ready for the trial?" Theresa looked back at her son, with a wary look.
Yhael chuckled and replied with a ignorant but calm tone.
"I'll be fine mother,"
Theresa smiled as her son opened the door of the car and went out of the car. Standing in front of the large gates of Xyrax made Yhael look so small compared to the gates making him seem like an insignificant ant.
Walking through the gates, he went in the academy immediately met with crowds of entry students ready to take the trial to becoming a fully fledged student of Xyrax.
Some were scared, others were confident, others boasting about their skills, all the while Yhael stood there observing the academy's interior before being interuppted by the loud voice of one of the teachers.
All the students looked at the man who called them out who was none other then Robert Alstor, known as the Hero of Alastria, as well as being the man who threw mountains at Titan classed monsters.
Robert was completely clad in the crimson armor he was known for except for the helmet, his left eye being covered by an eyepatch with a massive three clawed scar on his left cheek.
All the students were in awe at the powerful man in front of them who was literally to some Strength Incarnate.
Speaking, his tone was stern and commanding, his voice deep and somewhat raspy.
"Today, is the day all of you shall become students of Xyrax!"
All the students shouted with pride and determination.
"Now before becoming a proud student of Xyrax you must first beat the Trial"
Suddenly the proud shouts disappeared almost instantly after hearing those last words.
The Trial, a test widely known throughout Etheria as the most extremely difficult test as well as deadly due to the monsters and conditions of beating it.
"You will all be passed through the portal behind and be transported to the Realm of Doom."
"To beat the test you must find all pieces to repair the portal and take down the most powerful monster that guards it" Robert explained.
Everyone was quiet, thinking of their plans once they begin the trial some were already forming teams, others were just shaking in fear while Yhael kept a calm expression but his grip on the handle of his longsword was tight.
"Everyone, enter the portal"
Hearing the words come out from Robert, everyone ran towards the portal transporting every teenager into the realm of doom.
