* Chapter 1

*

* Ser Rohn cursed under his breath as he ran after the paladin and his hellhound together with four other Knights and squadron of 10 guards.

*    They were hunting a group of DARKSPAWNS it wasn't his first time Darkspawns but it was the first time he did it together with a paladin or an hellhound The ba stards were f**ing fast. 

*    They had been chasing the Darkspawns through the woods for over 30 minutes and he was out of breath, considering the fact that he was wearing his full armor, helmet, shield and sword. 

*    Though it felt good hunting together with an actual paladin and a hellhound, which he knew would do alot for his reputation and help him woo the ladies. 

*    They suddenly burst out of the woods into a large clearing in front of a cave .The clearing was empty, but both the paladin and his hellhound were staring at the cave entrance as if waiting for something. 

*    The hellhound made as if to charge into the cave but was stopped by a shrill whistle from the paladin. 

*    "Good" the paladin said relaxing slightly "all we have to do is flush them out" 

*     The soldiers quickly formed a semi circle behind the paladin and Knights weapons pointed at the cave's mouth. 

*    "umm Ser shouldn't we ask for their surrender first?" Jon one his is fellow Knights and best friend shyly asked the paladin. 

*    "yeah you are right" the paladin  sighed."do that captain " he said waving in Rohn's direction. 

*   " surrender!! "Rohn shouted with as much bravado as he could muster" In the name of the King, the High priest and the seven gods, failure to do so will result in the use of lethal force if necessary!! "

* " now that, that is over with, get me some smoke grass and fire " the paladin growled impatiently. his hellhound letting out a growl of its own. 

*    A few minutes later they had gathered some grass and wood, made a fire at the cave's mouth and had a couple of soldiers fan it in with some leaves.

*    They waited quietly for a few more minutes, which Rohn used to study the paladin and his hellhound. The paladin was huge around 5.9 tall broad chested, wearing the usual paladin silver coloured armor,with an oak tree having only 7 branches painted on the front, a shield on his back, a black satchel slung along his back, and a long sword which he held with both hands, his face was covered by a helmet. He also had vial tied on a chain around his neck which Rohn knew had to be Elixir. He didn't have a Cape so he certainly wasn't one of the "FIVE". 

*     The hellhound was the size of a bull, with skin dark as night and little fur save for small patches here and there, eyes as red as blood and deadly fangs.

*    It was crouched, muscles tensed and ready to leap and attack. 

*     Rohn was about to start relaxing a bit when he heard a roar and saw a giant of a man charge out of the smoke a wood axe raised above his heard. 

*    He reached the two guards Fanning the fire smashing one aside and splitting the other open with his axe. 

*    The hellhound was a blur as it leapt at the man bitting down his hand holding the axe and pinning him to the ground with its powerful body. 

*    "Raaaaaghh!!!" the Darkspawn roared in anger as he heaved and threw off the hellhound with a burst of inhuman strength and black blood gushing out of his arm. The hellhound slammed into a tree with a loud crash remaining dazed for a few seconds before standing upright. 

*    Rohn and the rest of the hunting party charged at the Darkspawn roaring their war cries. 

*    "Down!!!" Rohn heard a voice shout from within the cave. The Darkspawn hit the ground immediately Rohn, the paladin and a few others following suit. 

*   A blast of flame spewed out of the cave setting alight every one still standing and scalding the backs of the others. 

*   

* The blast of flame ended as the Darkspawn who it out started coughing. 

*    "Get her!!" the paladin yelled as both he and his hellhound charged the huge Darkspawn with a axe. 

*    Another Darkspawn, this one a boy no younger than 16 charged out of the cave wielding a rusted shortsword. Rohn quickly stood up and went to intercept him. 

*    The boy stabed at Rohn, an attack which Rohn easily sidestepped. Rohn turned around and slashed at the back of his knees causing him to fall and cry out in pain. 

*    "Seems like you don't have a very useful ability" Rohn commented before smashing his  sword in the boy's face knocking him out . He turned noticing that the rest were still fighting the fire breathing lady. amongst those that survived the first fire blast only 2 Knights and three guards remained all them trying to avoid being roasted than attacking. The paladin was still dealing with the one using a wood axe, so he waited till she started coughing again then charged at her from behind. 

*   He was almost on her when she turned and let loose a jet of flame at his face. he was lucky to get his shield up in time to block the blast but was thrown off balanced as she came after him with a dagger even while coughing. 

*   "vicious b**ch" he thought as he threw down his scalding hot shield and fended off her clumsy attack with his sword .A quick strike with his sword sent her dagger clattering down and an upward slash put her down. 

*    He turned to go help the paladin only find find his foe already defeated. 

*    "Three darkspawns all in a day's work" the paladin grinned as he wiped his blade of the darkspawns body. "I didn't even have to use my Elixir" 

*   Rohn couldn't share his happiness not while he lost two of his Knights and so many soldiers."And I have to do all the paperwork " he thought dryly....
