Synopsis
Order. Peace. Sacrifice. These are the virtues of the Paladai, an ancient group of warriors who take it upon themselves to end wars before the countries involved inevitably destroy themselves. After centuries of service, the Paladai Order is about to crumble.
In a medieval land torn apart by war, no one is safe from the carnage. When young Ashea witnesses the murder of her father, she chooses to join the prestigious Paladai Order as a means to seek revenge. After eleven years, she has all but given up hope. That is until she meets Jarin, a royal messenger who may hold the answers she has been looking for, answers that may also mean the end of the Paladai.
But Jarin is not without secrets of his own. Growing up in the kingdom of Dacia, he is taught that Paladai are nothing but interfering interlopers, bullies, and murderers. While on a critical mission that could end the century war his kingdom has suffered through, he is rescued by the Paladai and forced to on a journey that may very well claim his life.
Can Jarin and Ashea set aside their differences and work together? Or will their own prejudices end up killing each other?
