Sleeping Beauty in another world

Sleeping Beauty in another world

Past Flashback

--------------------------

Sleeping beauty. The princess who could only awake with a kiss. Sound’s romantic, huh? Guess what? I am a sleeping beauty… though I am a male.Well, in reality there is a disease named Sleeping Beauty syndrome which, if you haven’t guessed by now, I have. This syndrome requires my body to sleep for 20 hours a day-with bathroom breaks and the desire for food waking me up at random intervals, usually together-. This severely inhibited me like no other. Only being able to stay awake for four hours a day was bad enough, but having your parents be the creator of the number one virtual reality game in the world-that was just terrible. Why was it terrible, you ask? Because when they created the game, they also created Ai’s who would self manage the game. Meaning they didn’t have to do anything other than meetings with media and a bunch of other unimportant stuff. Which also meant every four hours I had awake was spent in their company. To most people this would be completely fine, but to me it was hell. I was never a people person. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my family but my motto is “Too much of a good thing will always be a bad thing.” To this day, I live by this motto. Anyways back to the story.

Today I was turning 16. We crammed as much fun in as we could in three hours. On the fourth hour my parents gave me a special V.R pod that used special wires and a newly created to penetrate the “Dream section” of my mind. Using this, they were somehow able to make it so that if I fall asleep with my helmet on, I will go into their V.R. game “Yggdrasil”

At first, I only played the game to mess around. I never thought about taking it seriously. I made my character as a Jackal-type Beastman and named him ‘Anubis’. I had always loved egyptian mythology so I decided to create a jackal character. I started in a small desert town somewhere at the edge of the desert. I let my body get used to the feeling of being in a V.R game.

I learned with more than a little disappointment that the beast race wasn’t considered a good race to play. It had more cons than pro’s. First off it couldn’t wear armor. It could wear jewelry equipment, but nothing more. This basically meant that we were virtually naked for the beginning hundred levels, until you start to get good jewelry. As a trade off, beastmen started with 50 in every stat instead of ten. Second, we couldn’t use magic. Scratch that, our affinity for magic was about the same as a dead slug. Although we could use body enhancing just fine, the ability to not use magic was a severe penalty. The trade off wasn’t that good though. Instead of learning magic we could learn “Inherent abilities of the beast.” Apparently, only two Inherent abilities have been found and they were extremely weak. This made the beast class extremely unappealing. I didn’t care though, I just intended to play around.

I went to the library first, hoping to gather information about this world. I read nearly every book in their in about a week, gaining various stat points along the way. I then went to the beginner’s training center in order to wield the sword. It didn’t take me long to complete it-after all, when all you do is sleep all day I had a lot of energy stored up.

It took me a full year to complete all the training centers up to grandmaster. Along the way, I finally admitted to myself that I wanted to become strong in this game. I became a fighting fanatic, always looking for someone that could beat me. After finishing the master’s training, I began a long journey to find the grandmaster training center. I spent months on months looking for the center, never finding it. I finally decided to give up, knowing that I was missing something. I was pretty depressed after that. Battles never seemed to excite me any more. That was, until I met her, She went by the name of ‘Jace the Empress’. I first met her while I was exploring the desert. I was looking for the last earring of my ‘ Divine Beast God’ set. I had heard a rumor about the ancient tomb of Khamplon about two years after I gave up my search for the grandmaster training center. When I arrived at the tomb it was a giant pyramid. I did a quick sweep around it to find that it had four entrances, each facing a cardinal direction. I took the east entrance since it was the closest.

I took me 56 days to clear out all the monster’s on the inside. These monster’s weren’t pushovers. Each one of them had special abilities, something that I didn’t think possible. If it wasn’t for the fact that I played this game constantly and my stats were god-mode high, I doubt anyone could clear this dungeon other than me. By the way, the highest leveled player-Quicksilver-had broken into the 600’s recently. This game has been out for five years and is constantly expanding but it’s still pretty shocking how high level he is.

It took me four more days to navigate the damn pyramid and find the giant tomb of Khamplon. To my utter surprise there was no boss monster guarding the area. I searched the whole place from top to bottom before I even breathed on the tomb. I slowly pushed the tomb open, my tension at it’s highest. This tomb was really massive. At least 3 meters tall, it would have been a pain in the ass for anyone without a high strength attribute to push open. When i finally pushed it open, I hit the motherload.

I found the World class item ‘Pharaohs Flail.” It didn’t look like much. It had three thin bars-like slim baseball bats with no end- connected to a long stick. It may look like a weak weapon, but I knew how strong it was. There were only 13 world class items in the game. The weapon rankings were Common>Uncommon>Rare>Unique>Legendary>Divine>World.

There were no World Class armors. My father told me that If there were, they would only have been able to be broken or damaged by World Class weapons. Therefore, in a game that relied on skill even if you had a World Class weapon you could still be beaten. I also found the last earring I was looking for. I now had all ten rings and earrings, the necklace and seven out of 30 of the braids I could have in my hair. Unfortunately the braids only gave [ +5 strength and agility] but since there were thirty of them it was more than worth it. But even with these two items, I found something that had potential to be worth even more than these two. A book with runes! It was a thick book with the Ankh of life on the front of it.

Ancient Egyptian Sorcerers used Hieroglyphs in order to use magic. I grabbed the book and used my [ Instant Analyze ] skill to absorb all the information in the book. That’s one of the best things about this game. Even if you read a Divine Class spellbook, you could still sell it and gain the absolute value. No bullshit system that said you couldn’t trade or sell a book after you looked at it. This book was filled with Massive amount of information on Hieroglyphs. I put the book in my storage and decided to test a glyph I had read about. It was called [ Trap ] and like it’s name implied, when someone stepped on it a trap would activate… or so I hoped. Even though the book gave me massive amounts of info on glyphs, it didn’t tell me what to do with them. I willed magic into my fingertips and drew the glyph on the ground. When I did that, I gained three new skills. I also gained the option to change into an [ Egyptian Warrior ]. I was currently a martial arts class but I decided to switch. Surprisingly all my buffs and skills I earned stayed, and I also earned some new ones.

I equipped the flail and was about to give it a few swings before I was blasted from my side and straight into the tomb… which in turn activated my glyph which exploded, hurtling me backwards. With my beastial senses I could tell the attacker was human. Unfortunately, I could also tell that she was strong, if not stronger than me. This made me extremely happy. I was dying to test out my new items. I leapt up from the ground, expecting to see a powerful figure. Instead, I saw a tiny girl with an oversized wizard hat on her head. Seeing this, I couldn’t help but let out a loud laugh. She looked slightly peeved at this but held it in well.

“Give me the Flail demon or suffer my wrath” she had said.

“Oh? Why should I, Puny human?” I responded, playing out the role of a demon

“Because I am stronger than you could ever Imagine” she replied. Instantly a ball of molten lava appeared in her hand.

“Either her fire spells are really strong or she’s an.. is she an elemental mixer?” I thought with slightly raised eyebrows. Elemental mixers are an extremely hard and rare class to get. Like the name implies, they can mix elements together and create an even stronger form of magic. Unfortunately they are cracked glass cannons. They have extreme attack but extremely low defense, even worse than the average wizard.

“Well then” I began. I used one of the 6 Inherent abilties I had unlocked called [ Cheetah Legs] with tripled my speed for five seconds. I instantly appeared right behind her. My 6’3 frame over her 5’10 frame was nearly comical.

“Entertain me” and smashed the flail on her head. A massive crack appeared in the earth that shook the whole pyramid. “Powerful!” I thought. And I haven’t even scratched the surface of what this could do. World Class items require experience to unlock their abilities. I had thought I killed her and turned around. Like a fool, I was once again blasted against the wall, except this time molten lava was on my back. I growled then activated [ Vajra ] which is a skin hardening technique. I didn’t feel a thing as I wiped the lava off my back. The attack took out a small chunk of my health though. I turned back to look at her. She had a smug smile on her face.

“You're pretty strong. But I’m stronger” she said. Four balls of water that seemed to be filled with electricity appeared around her. I smiled

“This is going to be fun” I said aloud.

We fought in the tomb for almost two hours. She had a Divine class [ Teleportation ] spell, which was borderline cheating. Luckily it took up a good chunk of her mana every time she used it. I had finally managed to predict one of her teleportations and used the flail to smash her side. Unfortunately only one of them hit her, but it was still enough to knock her down. I grabbed her by the throat and said

“Any last words?”

“Join Me!!!” she literally squealed

“Hah?” I replied dumbfounded

“I can already tell you're a human. So I want you to join me”

“Mmhmm. You realize I am stronger, right?”

“Debatable” she replied. I slowly increased the pressure on her throat until she said

“o-okay! yo...ur stro..nger!” I loosened the pressure so she could speak normally.

“Good. now that we have this acknowledged, you said something about joining you. Join you for what?”

“I plan... on making the strongest guild Yggdrasil has ever seen. We will terrorize the world with our power. I only wish to have one other person with me on my conquest so our floor guardians are stronger. Please, I beg of you. Join Me!” She was in dogeza form. It was so funny I took an in game picture. I should probably mention this. Floor guardians, like their name states guard the floor they were created to guard. The game balances their power by the number of player a guild has and the highest level player in the guild. The more players you have the weaker the guardians are.

“Create the strongest guild” I said aloud.

“Fine, I will accept on certain conditions. First, the guild master is co-combined. We will be Emperor and Empress. Second, the location of the guild is chosen by me. That’s all” I said. She hesitated a few seconds before saying ok.

It took us three years to become the strongest guild. In-game years, of course. By then I had found the grandmaster training center-turns out it was at the bottom of the ocean. Only reason I went down there was to get bead for my hair- My glyph mastery had reached master level, same with my flail. Basically, all my combat skills were at master. What can I say, I play a lot :). Anyways, we created our our base in the middle of the sanja desert. In the middle of the desert there were monsters at about level 450-570 wandering around. There was a massive pyramid in the middle of the desert. It was at least 550 feet tall and seemed to cover 17 acres across. We made this our base. We had to clear out every monster that respawned their multiple times. There were fourteen floors in the pyramid. We each took seven floors. Jace-who’s name I had learned after we became guild partners- took floor 3-5-7-9-11-13 while I took the evens. We worked on the top of the pyramid together, which held all of our treasures. Which by the gods there were a ton of them. Divine Class sword just scattered about. Jace had acquired a World Class wand that could compete with my full upgraded Flail.

Jace and I had grown extremely close over the years. She was like a little sister to me, and I was apparently her “Idiot Beast Brother who is weaker than her.” That last part is such a lie… anyways, after we completed our ultimate guild, we started to terrorize the world. We took out the biggest guilds first, making sure that our name would be feared. It wasn’t easy. The fact that there was only two people doing this was a major disadvantage. But my two World Class item helped immensely. I had recently acquired ‘The Pharaohs Crook’ which was stronger than my flail, in its own sense. It made my glyph magic twice as strong, which was something to be feared. Just as Jace had wanted, we took the world by storm. We started massive continent wars in order to increase our territory. After two years of fighting we had managed to take over two of the five continents. The media was begging to do interviews on us. I had told Jace why I couldn’t do interviews and fully encouraged her to do them. At first she refused, saying we built the guild together and all the other cheesy bullshit. But in the end I finally convinced her, telling her it was fine and the like. After that, everything went smoothly, well until today.

Today

----------------------

I was hunting in the swamps. Jace had gotten the awesome Idea to make a moat around the empire we had created, and of course, I had to do it. Jace was a natural slave driver. Given, I was also pretty harsh when the situation required it. More than once I had to act like a Emperor should and force a civilian to the death, or make a public torture session. Not that it affected me much. These were Npc’s and we are humans. No need to feel sentimental for them. She had wanted four albino crocodile kings. We had three of them but of course if there wasn’t four it wasn’t enough.

After thirty minutes of trying to find a damn crocodile I found it. This thing was massive. Like, big enough to swallow a dragon massive and not have a stomach bulge massive. Teeth bigger than the tallest of men, with scales that looked like a nuclear warhead couldn’t scratch them. I smiled. This was my kind of fight. I activated the glyph for lightning with my crook. A massive symbol appeared in the air and fired an even bigger lightning bolt. I jumped at the beast, using [ Cheetah Legs ] for a quick start. I appeared in front of it in the blink of an eye. I smashed my flail down on its nose. It roared in pain. I smiled a bright smile before It’s tail smashed into my chest, hurtling me backwards through about five trees. Activating [ Dragon Scales ] I rushed at the beast again, summoning the glyph for air at my feet, jumping at the same time the glyph activated to give me an extra boost. Upon trial and error I discovered that glyphs could be activated with thought anywhere on my body, but didn’t have the extreme buff that my crook gave them. Up in the air I activated [ Paralyzing eyes ] + [ Bloodlust ]. Using momentum, I imbued my flail with dark energy. The flail bats became pitch black. [ Bludgeon Strike: Armor Piercer ] My flail smashed down on the crocodile, making it roar in pain while the scales cracked under my power. I narrowly dodged the tail that swung over my head. Using my crook, I grabbed the tail as it passed by me. Planting my feet on the side of the tail, I jumped, landing on the crocodiles back.Running towards the head, I smashed it’s head multiple times with my crook, making it roar in pain. I repeated the process, smashing, dodging, and basically making the crocodile extremely angry. Something worried me though, why hadn’t it used any moves. I clearly going to kill it if it didn’t show any strength. No need for a weak crocodile in my moat. I slipped on some grass, interrupting my train of thought. The edge of its tail grazed my shoulder, sending me spinning.

“If force won’t make you show your power, lets try.. pissing you off.” I transformed into a four legged jackal. In this form, I was twice as fast but my modes of attack were limited to biting and clawing. Well, I could also use glyphs but they were weaker than what they should be. Instantly appearing on the crocs head, I used [ Dark Claw ] + [ Claw Strengthening ] + [ Body Enhancement ] to deal massive damage. Finally breaking the ridiculously tough scales on its head, I planned to crush it’s brain but suddenly I was shot forward. I barely managed to land on my feet, my claws finding purchase in the wet ground. Suddenly, the croc opened its mouth. I didn’t know what it was doing until I felt myself get pulled forward.

“Wind..no this is!!” I knew what this was. My dad had shown me a sneak preview of it in the testing rooms.

“Gravity magic! But this isn’t supposed to be out until next month!” I had no way of defending myself. I strengthened my body to the max. I considered switching back to humanoid form but If I did I would loose purchase.

“Shit! What the Fuck!” I yelled in my mind. Suddenly, a massive tree smashed me from behind. I plummeted into the crocodiles mouth, swallowed whole. I tried to claw at it from the inside but the croc even had scales in it’s mouth!

“What kind of a cheat animal is this?” I thought. I went deeper and deeper down its stomach. After about five minutes I noticed something strange… I was still sinking. I could even breath.

“Ah shit. Game glitch. Stuck in a crocodiles stomach… that’s cool.”

I tried to think of things to entertain myself, but it was a serious pain in the ass. I couldn’t even move a muscle. Suddenly, a bright light appeared in front of me.

“Hell yea!” I shouted, but since I was in jackal form It came out as a loud growl/yelp. The light blinded my whole body.

I felt cold hard floor underneath me, but my eyes still hurt. Suddenly I heard laughter

“Hahaha! She’s so weak she can only summon some ugly beast!” After that was said, more voices joined in on the laughter. Finally the light was fading from my eyes. I heard a voice in my head say

“Servant, what is your name?” Servant? The fuck? I’m, an emperor. I’ll play along though, can’t wait to see the reaction when she knows my name.

“I am Anubis” I thought in a mighty voice. The light was gone in my eyes. I opened them too see cold marble pedestal. I realized I was laying down, so I quickly rose. I scanned the room too see a bunch of teenage looking kids staring at me, laughing. In front of me was a beautiful girl, looking to be no more than 16. She had short red hair that was slicked back behind her head, barely reaching below her chin. She had a small chest but looked to be well endowed in the ass area.

I tried to transform back into my humanoid form, only to find that I couldn’t. No matter how much I yelled [ Transform ] in my mind nothing happened.

“God damn game glitches” I swore in my head.

“What is a game glitch?” The voice asked. What is this idiot talking about?

“What the hell do you mean what’s a game glitch? A game glitch is self explanatory” I said in an irritated voice.

“Well excuse me for not knowing what it is” The voice said angrily. Whatever, I’ll just leave. [ Game menu ]. This time, the menu popped up. But when I tried to log out, there was no button. All my stats, items, quests, everything else worked except map and log out.

“Now now class, now that Alana has finished with her summoning, go to lunch. You will report back here in thirty minutes.” A bunch of “Yes sensei” was the response. The red haired girl stretched her hand out, as if to pick me up. I slashed them, not wanting to be touched. This time, even more laughter erupted.

“HAHAHAHA!! She can’t even control her own familiar!” The kid’s were cracking up at this, while the red head girl stared at me with frighteningly dead eyes. I felt some unknown pressure forcing me to the ground, tying my limbs together. I recognized it for what it was- Binding magic. But it was pretty weak and I was able to shrug it off with pure will. Apparently, I shouldn’t have done that because I heard a loud gasp behind me. This time, even stronger magic was trying to bind me, but it was still weak to me. I growled and turned around, dissipating the magic as I moved. I used [ Bloodlust ] on the the fat bald man that was trying to bind me. I was so used to doing it with my body instead of the skill that it came out naturally. His body froze then he fell backwards unconscious. The students screamed and ran out of the classroom.

“What are you doing!!” the voice shouted. I assumed it was the redhead girl, because she was the only person left in the room.

“Is that you?”

“Yes”

“Where are we?” I asked. If i knew where I was I could send a message back to Jace.

“What do you mean where are we? You should already know where we are. We are in Sabidan, the capital of the Empire of Sortania.”

“What the fuck?” I thought. There is no such place in Yggdrasil. “Don’t lie to me” I said in an angry voice.

“I’m not lying!” She protested loudly, giving me a headache. I used the skill [ Detect Lie ] that I had learned from Ammit the Devourer.

“Swear to me that you are telling the truth and only the truth”

“I swear, on the name of Alana Monteria, that we are on the continent of Yhema, the capital Sabidan of the Empire of Sortania” She said in a straight voice

My detect lie… did nothing. This skill looks into your very soul to judge you. Even if you were being manipulated, it could still detect the lie. Any politicians dream. Though I was a bit skeptical. This was a video game, how can you see the soul? If she was telling the truth then… I was no longer in Yggdrasil. I was somewhere totally different.

-----------------------

Alana’s Pov

My name is Alana Monteria. I was born as the third daughter of the monteria clan, the daughter of the clan head and a random whore he fucked on the street. I was considered nothing more than a drunk mistake. My father never failed to remind me of this. I hated my life and my father. No matter what I did it seemed like no one liked me. My mother died when my father found out that I was his. It seems she hid it from him in order to gain power.

I was five when my magic talent started to blossom. We had our own mage so I asked him to teach me magic. He accepted, though he had a disgusted face on when he did.It seemed that I had an affinity to water magic. I did always like water. I seemed at home when I was in the water, more relaxed, more powerful. I was always ahead in my studies. I absorbed knowledge like a sponge.

“When I was ten my father sent me to Jakin academy to get rid of me. Luckily for me, this was perfect for me to cultivate my magic. This was the best magic school in the country, possibly the world. When I first arrived I noticed I was far ahead of the rest of the students.I quickly advanced in my studies. I had hoped to impressive the other students, but due to my shy nature I never talked much. This started the rumor that I thought I was better than everyone else, making more people hate me. But even still I perspired, never giving up hope in search of knowledge. I never flaunted my talent. When we had magic test’s I used the bare minimum of power to past, which then started that I cheated when I was younger and that I was extremely weak now. I was constantly bullied by other students. I had considered suicide multiple times but in the end I was too scared to do it.

Today was the day we were going to summon our familiar. I was in the advanced class, despite my actings. It seemed teachers could tell that I was stronger than I let on. I forgot to set my alarm, so I ran to class barely making it for the start of the lesson.

“Aaaah Alana, nice to see you could make it.” Mr. Larkson, our summoning class teacher said. I nodded my head. Over the years I used my voice less and less until I simply stopped using it. When I was walking to my table The Queen of the bullies- Clarrisa Ravenheart- Tripped my, making me smash my face against the table. This caused the class to roar with laughter, much to my embarrassment. I got back up and struggled to my desk.

“Quiet Kids. Now, as I was saying. When you use summoning magic, you pour magic into the magic circle that is specifically meant for summoning. Using the Arkaic ruin formations, Magic is sent into the beast world and corresponding to your level of power a familiar receives the call, coming to you. When the familiar t comes into this world a [ Servant ] spell is automatically cast on it when it’s feet touch the circle.” After explaining how to do everything, It was finally time to summon. I hoped to get some type of water beast as that would increase my strength greatly.

Some kids got avian type beasts, others got weird looking creatures, some got useless beasts. When it was Clarissa’s turn, she actually managed to summon a dragon! A real fire breathing dragon. Instantly everyone clapped for her, cheering for her at her great accomplishment. Dragon’s were rare creatures-almost impossible to summon- and extremely strong when they grew up. Right now her’s was a little baby dragon but soon it would be a massive beast.

Finally it was my turn. I walked towards the magic circle slowly. I was nervous, and the unencouraging shouts of my classmates didn’t exactly help. Once I reached the podium I began to pour my magic in. I did it slowly then picked up speed. At first nothing happened, but a few moments later a pitch black hole opened up to reveal a small black skinned creature with large ears that pointed upwards. Everyone began to laugh at me, but a few moments later when it opened it’s golden eyes I could see extreme intelligence in them. I asked it’s name and it replied

“I am Anubis” In a powerful voice. I gave mine next. Everyone in the classroom playing with their new pets. Anubis randomly said something about “Game Glitches.” When I asked what it was, he called me an idiot and said it was self explanatory. I responded back angrily but left it alone. The teacher told it was time for lunch. I went to grab Anubis but to my shock he slashed my hand, leaving five slices across it.

“What the hell? Servant magic should prevent him from harming me!? The only reason I can talk to him telepathically is because of the magic!” I shouted in my head.

Lazily the teacher stretched out his hand to do binding magic. I thought the problem was solved, but to my shock again Anubis repelled the magic without using any mana himself! The teacher also realized this and used a stronger binding spell. Once again Anubis simply repelled it with will alone. He turned around and faced the teacher. One second the teacher is staring at Anubis while preparing another spell, the Next second he froze up and then a terrifying bloodlust emanated from Anubis. I think Mr.Larkson died from shock because he simply fell down and collapsed on the ground. The other students screamed then ran out of the room. I assumed they were going for help.

If not, I was most likely about to become a chew toy.

Anubis turned around and walked towards me slowly, his golden eyes seemingly staring into my soul. He then asked me questions about where we are, which I responded he should know then told him the location anyways. He shouted at me for lying to him, which in turn I shouted back. He told me to swear that I wasn’t lying to him. I gave him my full name and included the continent and empire we were living in. He just sat there, giving me a dumb look.

“How come… you don’t know where we are?” I asked in a confused voice.

“ Well I am…
