Chapter 6: New Tokyo (2)

Looking at the face of the man currently driving the car, a strange feeling welled up in my heart. He was one of the several 'servants' that I had obtained in the past month.

If I remember correctly, his name was Han, right?

Getting curious, I directly asked him, "Hey, your name is Han, right?"

The man who was called responded promptly, as if responding to the command of a superior. "Yes, my lor… I mean, yeah, my name is Han Yoo, sir!"

"Have all the required arrangements been made?"

It was really important that all the things I commanded were done properly. This would solve a lot of problems even before they emerged and make my next actions much easier.

"Yes, all things have been arranged. Your new residence is already prepared, along with a month's worth of food," he proclaimed proudly.

He was smiling from ear to ear as he delivered the news, as if asking to be praised for his accomplishment. Although it might seem inappropriate, he was really like a dog asking to be praised after fetching a bone thrown by its master.

"Also, we have prepared some daily necessities and other things for your comfort and convenience," Han continued. If he had a tail, it would surely be wagging furiously.

Shaking my head, I replied with a smile, "Good work!"

It was a simple compliment, but it brought a huge smile to Han's face, as if his life's purpose had been fulfilled.

Sigh! Really, their behavior is equally amusing and terrifying. I'm glad that I can get such devoted servants so easily, but the fact that it's so easy to do is equally disturbing.

Moving my right hand in front of my eyes, a small, purple globule of energy appeared above it, dancing from side to side like a naughty child teasing its parent. Honestly, it was kind of cute. It was quite adorable for a non-sentient blob of energy, though that wasn't entirely accurate. The blob was intelligent but not quite alive in the same way as a person.

Thinking about the ability I had trained up, a proud smile appeared on my lips. Truly, it will always be my proudest work—at least until I leave this cursed world.

After appreciating the blob of energy for a while, I dismissed it and commanded it to return to its home. Almost immediately, it dove inside my forehead and disappeared completely from view. Truly, it's an amazing ability.

The ability was called [Dominion Energy Generation]. Rather than an ability to control minds or influence people, it was an extremely simple ability to generate a specific kind of energy. It was a genius idea. If I had chosen any other ability, it would have taken time and effort to develop, and the ability would've been quite weak at the beginning.

Doing it this way ensured that, even at its weakest, it would just generate a smaller quantity and take more focus and time to produce. The properties of the energy being generated wouldn't be affected. The properties of this energy were the core part of this power and the foundation for all my actions and advantages in this world. In fact, I made sure that the majority of the 'load' would be carried by the energy itself rather than by me.

The energy I could generate was miraculous and possessed several amazing properties:

Domination: This is the primary ability of [Dominion Energy]—the power to dominate and exert absolute control over any mind it touches. Instantaneously, any mind it contacts is molded to obey the user without question.

Intelligence: Being psychic in nature, it possesses considerable intelligence and can flawlessly execute complex commands to the letter. However, it is not truly alive—at least, not in the way a person is. It can also sense its surroundings.

Follower: Upon its creation/generation, it automatically recognizes the mental imprint of its creator and becomes an extension of their mind, dutifully obeying every whim and command.

Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.

Mover: It can traverse space effortlessly, moving almost instantaneously according to the user's wishes and commands.

Imperceptibility: Only the user can perceive it; it remains completely undetectable to anything and anyone else in existence.

Storage: This energy can automatically transform into another form to be stored within your 'mind,' and it can easily move out too. As the owner of this energy, you cannot be dominated by it.

Color: It is purple in color—because, why not?

Basically, all these things were inherent properties of this energy, and all I needed to do was visualize myself producing it. [Dominion Energy Generation]—such a simple ability. It only took me half an hour to start producing some, and in a few weeks, I already possessed an entire bucket's worth of energy. It really is a useful ability, considering what I've accomplished in just a single month.

I smiled at the thought, thinking about all the people in my service. After controlling Hasegawa, all I had to do was use his connections to meet my other bosses. Making excuses to arrange a meeting was easy, and soon I was in control of the entire company, including one of the major local shareholders named Hiroshi.

Hiroshi was a rich man—not mega-corp-level rich—but still wealthy enough. Using his connections, I contacted several people responsible for recruiting from the satellite cities. In fact, I was surprised Hiroshi knew people like that yet still chose to remain in this hellish place. When I asked him why, the answer was obvious.

"My Lord, although I can go there by spending money, all my business is located here. If I go there, I'd basically have to work for the mega-corporations in one way or another. Here, although the mega-corporations are still powerful, I'm still a major shareholder in a mid-sized company. There, I'd just become another person on the streets, controlled by the mega-corporations. Here, I'm the boss of a large company, and life is fine. I don't want to go to the domed city, but these connections are still useful, so I keep in contact."

It made sense. What was the saying? I'd rather be a chicken's head than a phoenix's tail.

All this was accomplished in a single week. Of course, I didn't stop there. In the next two weeks, I went around controlling every recruitment agent in the city, making them my 'servants.' I sent them back with a single instruction: 'Make arrangements for my entrance into the domed city.'

Of course, the actual instructions were much more detailed, but this was the gist of what I said. In only three days after all the agents went back, my new virtual ID and metro ticket were mailed to me.

As I was reminiscing, the door of the car suddenly opened, and Han's voice sounded in my ears. "Sir, we've arrived."

Too respectful.

Although he wasn't bowing his head, he might as well have been. Even after a month of constant exposure, it's still hard for me to cope with how they talk to me.

After arriving at the highest floor of the building, Han and I finally reached my new apartment. It was located on the top floor of the building. Han moved first, unlocking the digital locks and opening the door for me.

Still too respectful.

I entered the room with Han, and after talking with him for a while, he left. After all, he still had a job to worry about and bills to pay. Anyway, it wasn't my concern. Thankfully, everything had been arranged by my servants so that I could become a citizen even without getting a job. After all, money talks, and Hiroshi had a lot of money.

Walking toward the master bedroom of my new place, I jumped on the bed. Slowly closing my eyes, I fell asleep.
