Lain frowned and put the black mirror back into his inventory. Ever since he transformed into his game avatar, he realizes along with his spells and skills, many of his senses have become stronger. His sensory abilities are not restricted to which form he takes. Even while sitting on his throne, he could sense four pairs of unknown footsteps on the Divine Continent.
No matter how powerful his sense we're, how could he know if the footsteps we're unknown? He was not even focusing on the Divine Continent, but he subconsciously was aware of it. He was able to pick four different pairs of footsteps out of the thousands of NPCs on the continent, which was remarkable.
To show how amazing this was, one must look at how vast the Golden Nation was. The Golden Nation was separated into two different planes, each as big as Earth(our Earth). The first plane was the Divine Continent, which houses all the inhabitants of this world, who were giants of some kind. If one of these figures fall to Earth, myths of Titans and Gods would emerge once again, like what happened with the Gods of Olympus.
Most of these NPCs were at the level of Sages, which was a force to be reckoned with, considering that there were thousands of them. If one includes the NPCs above Sages, one would have a God Slaughtering army in their hands. Not even a party of 30 max level players could defeat such a force without suffering damage as well. Now that they have become real, their numbers would increase gradually over time, who knows there might come a day when there were millions of Gods running around on Divine Continent.
(AN: Inside the World Tree, level 100 is considered a God, level 90 a DemiGod, level 80 a Saint, level 70 a Myth, level 60 a Legend, level 50 a Sage, level 40 Hero, level 30 Master, level 20 Awakened, level 10 Mortals and below. This is a general placement of power inside the World Tree, it is prone to changes.)
The second plane was situated perfectly above the Divine Continent, however, there wasn't a shadow cast down on the Divine Continent, since the continent was floating on the surface of clouds. In fact even if one looks up from the Divine Continent, they would not see this continent. It was like illusion magic had been used to cover it up, and considering who rules this place, it might be possible.
This continent was like it was cast from gold as the entire continent was golden. The skies were filled with gold, the land was gold, the vast rivers were gold, everything was gold. Even the house, from libraries to churches were gold. However, while the continent was beautiful and could fulfill the deepest and darkest dreams of many, the requirement to live there was to be at least a DemiGod, so this place remains empty, as no one had ascended since the dawn of time.
(AN: The dawn of time here means when the guild was created. To the NPCs, time had only begun then.)
In the center of the continent, a huge palace made also from gold floated above the Golden Nation, making it above everything but the bronze statue of the Supreme Emperor. Maybe the statue was imbued with some kind of magic, making so that no matter where inside the world they were at, they would be able to see it.
(AN: Okay, I use Golden Nation in two ways in the paragraph above. I use it as a world, which is the last world of the tree. I also use it as a Continent, which is were Lain's palace is located. It should be easy to know how to imagine the words by using the context it's written in.)
Closing his eyes, Lain uses [World Connection] seeing everything on the Divine Continent. He saw bakers making bread, cakes and other pastries. He saw soldiers training their skills while fighting against each other in mock battles. He saw priests cleaning temples and churches, and preaching about the Supreme God( him) and the other gods. He saw kids going to schools while riding on dragons or other creatures of their choices. He saw everyone moving as one big community, each helping one another. The more he looked the more he became lost in the wonder of how could the Divine Continent is better than his original world. Maybe humans are really that corrupt, everything they touch become a disaster in the future.
Lain knew with his powers he was a God, so he would do what the God of his world didn't if needs be, destroyed mankind.
Lain shooked his head and continued using [World Connection], which allow him to see everything, meaning he saw them, his children. They were approaching the Divine Mountain at the center of the Divine Continent.
The Divine Mountain was the entrance towards the continent of the gods. One must climb the steps and complete all test that judges one to see if they were gods. If one was not a God, one would be attacked fiercely by the Divine Warriors of the mountain, before dying a sinister death, which one had no way of escaping or recovering from, since it was absolute death.
Above the Divine Mountain was a long golden bridge made of many lights. The bridge would fade between reality and fantasy, making the bridge a wonder for the eyes. This bridge leads straight into the clouds, to the continent of gods.
Lain cancels the [World Connection], smiling with happiness seeing his children. A love of a father is far more powerful than any word is able to describe. Just looking at them from a distance was able to make his heart beat faster and be filled with fatherly love.
Lain looks down at Gaia in his laps and saw her smiling from ear to ear, as she said, "I'm guessing you sense them as well? From your expression, I can tell you are genuinely happy, which made me relive. I can not remember seeing you with any of them before, as all you did was create and left them to me." In the past, Gaia would have cried or hide her emotions as this would bring her pain, however now she was happy to see her man accept her children. She had once thought the reason he had not come to visit them, even if he didn't visit her, was because he was disappointed with them, however, seeing his expression, she was calmer and peaceful than before.
Lain smile, even though he was feeling pain inside every time she brought the fact of his absence in her life up. Signing, Lain said, "I'm happy to see them, even though this would be our first actual meeting, as a family nonetheless. At the end of the day, they are my children, my pride and joy. Even if they were to do something wrong, I would never hate my children, because if they did something wrong, it was caused by the parent's lack of teaching, not by them." A parent could take their misgivings out on the world, however, they must never bring those problems home, and take it out on their children.
(AN: I wanted to just write kids, instead of children so many times, but I felt children fit better in the story than kids.)
Gaia nodded, " That good then, now, can I ask the husband to make a throne for me? Or would you rather me sit in your lap when meeting our children?" Gaia teasingly said as she bats her eyelashes at him, shyly. The more time she spends around him, the more open she became around him. If this was the past, with not knowing her place in Lain's heart, she would never have dared to act this way with him. He literally holds her life and death in the palm of his hands, after all, one wrong move and she could disappear.
Something awoke inside of Lain when he saw her acting like that, it was an intense primal instinct, to take her here and now, however, he knew they must look like parents in front of their children and not people in heat. How would it look if they were all over each other during the meeting? Wouldnt their children lose all respect they had for them? So even though he was reluctant to have her leave his lap, he said nothing as she left his embrace.

Gaia as she got up, could feel his body tense up slightly before relaxing. It was like he was about to do something however he decides against it in the end. She was able to tell what he wanted to do since she was a master in things like this. She wasn't a mother if she couldn't read such obvious signs, and definitely couldn't be a goddess if she couldn't read all signs present before her.
Leaning down, Gaia kissed Lain on the lips, caressing his face lovingly as she spoke in a soft voice, "You don't have to be so careful around me. I'm your woman, a man showing their woman that they love them is something any woman would want from their man."
Relief washes away Lain's anxiety, which made him smiled, as he caressing Gaia's beautiful complexion, "I'm not used to showing my emotions, so it will take some time to adapt."
Gaia laugh, laying in his arms before getting up, "Even the Supreme God is not an expert in something? If word spread, your divine faith in the worlds would be tainted."
Divine faith? Lain frown in his heart, this is something else he didn't add inside the tree or maybe he did but didn't remember. The concept of faith is vague to anyone who heard the term. Depending on the God or place the faith originate from, the faith could be different. Even if it's the same faith, if it is located in a different place, a separation could happen, creating a new religion. Lain was not afraid of much, however, one thing he was scared of was a religious war. These kinds of wars could stretch centuries, never reaching a conclusion. More people died in religious wars than any given war back on Earth(our Earth).
(AN: Again I'm not sure if this accurate, however, I do know the death count in the crusade was very high, reaching a frightening level.)
Lain nodded, and laugh with her, hiding his thoughts on 'divine faith', "Just don't tell anyone then. Okay, get ready, they are almost here. I will create a throne for you. I just hope this place will lose its emptiness with you here with me." Lain signed regretting not creating any NPC's for the Golden Continent. He had wanted to create a unique backstory for it, claiming only beings who have reached the level of gods(DemiGod) could reach there. However, he had a feeling no one would reach the level of God for a very long time and that's if the NPCs could even grow in the first place. This was not a game anymore after all, and even in the game, it was hard for NPCs to grow, if not impossible.
(AN: DemiGod is considered the level of Gods as well. Just one is a true God while others just touch the seat of divinity.)
Golden Nation, did have the Supremes and the National Gods, which should be on the Golden Continent, however since they had to watch and monitor the world, they stay on the Divine Continent, since that would be the first place the invaders would appear at.
(AN: I have decided to call the continent below the palace, Golden Continent. It's hurting my brain to keep switching how I use the context to describe what I'm talking about.)
Lain pointed to the right of his throne, causing a mass of mana to flow out of his fingers, creating a throne standing on an equal level to his. This was actually a test on Lain's part, he wanted to see if he could use magic without chanting or using Silent Magic to cast a spell. He was surprised he actually succeeded, however considering a high-level player could use lower-level spells without chanting or Silent Magic, and he was three times over the player max level, it makes sense be could cast any spells except Super Tier Spella without chanting.
(AN: By writing this paragraph, I remove a massive weight off my shoulders.)
The throne Lain created was a brown throne that seems to be made out of the earth. The throne had many plants growing out of it, making the throne extremely peaceful and natural as nature itself. The throne has a more elegant appearance, than Lain's Throne of Chaos, which had a brutal appearance and imposing aura, that demands submission.
Gaia was surprised at her throne, as it fits perfectly for her role as the Mother Goddess of Life, Nature, and the World Tree.
Gaia thank Lain and walk over to her throne, sitting down, causing her throne to shake, as many plants burst out of the throne, bearing fruits immediately. Power started to merge into the throne, causing an aura of nature to surround it, looking peaceful, however, one should not be a fool as nature was a brutal force, which likes to hide behind the scenes before striking a deadly blow.
Lain was admiring how Gaia's throne seems to have taken some of the energy of the Throne of Chaos, gaining some control over the World Tree, however since he was the Guild Master and Guild Weapon, all the power actually still remained in his hand.
From this, he concludes his words had a certain amount of power imbued in it. This might be the result of him being the [Rule Creator], anything he said, probably would result in the World Tree accepting it as an order. He has said he wanted her by his side as his Queen, which the World Tree accepted as him given her some of 'authority'. After all, what is a Queen without power? Maybe a flower vase or even less than that?
Gaia stop looking at her throne, and look at the door. Lain did the same things as he senses the big moment was about to begin.
As they wait for the doors to open, a synchronize voice of the two guards from earlier, echoed throughout the Throne Room, "Your Majesty, Crown Prince Lucifer End Chaos, Second Prince Yama End Chaos, Third Prince Raul End Chaos, and Crown Princess Raina End Chaos, requested access to the throne room, do you allow them access?"
(AN: After asking my little sister about which name to use for the ruler of Heaven, we decided on Raina, as it seems like a combination of Lain and Gaia's name put together. The name also seems powerful and divine which is a plus I guess.)
Lain face twitch, as he cannot understand why the guards of the palace hallways seem to have an overview of the Throne Room. The Throne Room should be outside their responsibility, as they need to have the power to protect this place, which they lack even though they were around level 70.
The one that guards the Throne Room was himself or to be more precise, the representative of himself, his statue. He didn't make it have half of his stats and power for nothing. With the statue present, the Throne Room became one of the safest places inside of the tree.
While irritated, Lain understands these guards were doing everything to please him, their Emperor, after all serving him in any way was a great honor for them. If he responds angrily to them, Lain was sure they would commit suicide, which would cause more power in the long run.
Inside of the World Tree, he had two statuses, one of them being the title of the Supreme God, which is worship in every world other than the Golden Nation. The other status was that of Emperor, which is solely focused on the Golden Nation, where no one calls him the Supreme God other than the clergymen.
"Grant them access; I must thank my loyal guards for protecting the palace hallways; without your aid, I don't know if I could sit so worried free on this old throne of mine." Lain's voice resounded throughout the palace, extending all the way to the Divine Continent, making everyone fall to their knees, and cry tears of joy for the guards. Many were also jealous as well, wondering why didn't they gain this honor? If they did, they could die with a smile on their faces; because they know, that they would never be forgotten by anyone as long as the Supreme Emperor existed.
"There is no need for thanks, Your Majesty, serving you is the purpose of our existence. You created us, gave us a purpose, and that is what we will do, fulfilling the purpose of serving you until or last breath."
(AN: If I'm not wrong, lines like these are mention many times throughout the Overlord light novel, between Bone Daddy and his interaction with his NPCs.)
Even without seeing them face to face, Lain was sure they were kneeling and probably quivering with joy, because of his words. If he had not 'seen' this himself, he was sure he would never think people would value his words so deeply. From this, he knows he had to be careful of what he says to the NPCs, as they seem extremely loyal to a fault to him. If he said jump off a cliff, they would answer, 'how high?', not why.
The doors to the Throne Room creaked opened, causing an ear-piercing screech throughout the palace. Because of the fact that when one enters the room, the Throne of Chaos was absorbing all the surrounding light, one gets an uneasy feeling something wasn't right. When you put the noise with the atmosphere, one gets a forbidden room, full of danger.
