When he came to, Kaden found himself squinting hard, as the corona of the sun above him were squeezed to the side by a sleek robot head looking down at him. He could feel the slightly jagged grass digging into his skin, but honestly, right after whatever happened a few moments ago? He couldn't care less.
"Five more minutes." Kaden mumbled, his half opened eyes shutting again in a listless manner. He could hear the android audibly groan, and suddenly felt a cold yet leathery hand grip his arm before he was forced to his feet, and therefore forced to view the new environment he was currently in.
Boy, was it bad.
The escape pods that they had arrived in was crushed to the side, rendering parts of the metal too bent and worn to be useful. Parts of the fuselage were strewn all over the place, in the peaks of trees, dug into the soil and all over the floor. The main compartments of the ship were no where to be found, as well as the captain and the rest of the crew members.
"Are we the only ones left?" Kaden said to the android, turning to him. The android only nodded. It was also at this time that he got a good look at his new partner. A sleek and utilitarian design, fit for any sci-fi designer. It's hands were fitted with a black leather type material, while the sturdier parts were fitted with soft polymers or specialized metals. And let's not forget the face. Many designers try to make androids as human as possible, only to fail miserably and have their creation forever live in the uncanny valley. Not this design though. This android was fitted with a totally black screen-like face, where facial expressions can be easily shown in the simplest way possible: digital emoticons. They were simple, and easy to understand, not the mention the amount of facial expressions that were available.
It looked pretty alright, until Kaden looked down to it's left arm. Or what was left of it.
"Jesus Christ man!" Kaden said, jumping back slightly. "What the hell happened to your arm?" Kaden looked down at the androids ruined knub of where it's metallic arm should've been, instead replaced with a mish mash of crushed wires, electronic parts, and metal scrap. If the android were a human, it would probably be the equivalent of blowing your arm up into pieces.

"That's what I've been trying to get you up about," the android said hoarsely. Despite being a robot, it's voice was surprisingly smooth and human-like. Though he could feel a slight pang of agony in it's voice. "As you can see, my arm has been rendered into scrap in the crash, and I need your assistance to at least shut down the pain."
Kaden silently nodded, taking out some small hand tools still attached to his belt. It was odd, how robots and androids felt pain. Robots supposedly liked rhythm and patterns, so any sporadic electric signals were deemed as bad and uncomfortable. Using this method, if a robot were to injure itself, it's code would release a string of random and sporadic electrical pulses in varying intensity, which the robot mind simulates from mild to excruciating pain. The original designers of these bots wanted to make the pain scale as close to humans as possible, so his android partner losing his arm either meant that his code was slightly flawed or it had the fortitude of Hercules and massive tungsten balls.
Kaden fiddled around with his screwdriver and Allen wrench, and with a few twists, turns and pulls, he could see the android calm down and breath a long sigh of relief.
"Feel better?" Kaden asked, immediately getting a response with a small nod from the robot.
"Thank the heads. Yes, I do feel better now. Let's get to work." The android turned heel and began walking to the fragments of the ship all over the floor. Kaden was slightly stunned at the android's fortitude, but shook himself out of his shock and began to help out too.
Scavenging through the wreckage, it seemed his android partner's escape pod had somehow crumpled during the landing, crushing it's arm in the process. This also rendered most of the supplies in that escape pod destroyed or useless. Luckily, Kaden's escape pod managed to land successfully, otherwise he'd probably be dead by now.
There were a few packs of MRE, some basic medical supplies, a compass, hatchet, water purifier, extra water bottles, a repair kit, and a geolocator for the space ship hull. Along with the essentials, there were also a bunch of miscellaneous objects. Rope, duct tape, gas masks, the like. Quickly gathering up what he could, he hastily brought them over to a small lean-to that the android had built using parts of the fuselage and scrap metal lying around in the sparse forest.
There wasn't much room, but after dragging the safe escape pod over to the small tent, is was like they were camping, albeit with stuff probably deserving to be in a dumpster. After shoving the items into the pod, Kaden sat under the lean-to with the android, who had during this time built a small fire.
"Good, you found most of the stuff." The android said with a semi-bored expression. "Now sit tight, because we may be here for a while."
Right on queue, a crack of thunder and a strobe of light ripped across the sky, making Kaden jump slightly. Then without another beat, rain began pouring from the sky. And boy did it pour.
"I see..." Kaden said, looking out at the dim and wet downpour, before slowly turning to the android who was tending to the fire. "Well if we're going to be sitting for a while, it wouldn't be bad if we got to know each other right?"
