Chapter 0.5:
Prologue
Keisuke was never an amazing student, nor did he stand out in anything, ever. Since he can remember, he’s been a simple person of simple ideologies, who has held simple beliefs and has aimed for simple goals. He was born into a modest life, in a modest home, with a modest family.
Having been raised by parents who knew there was more to him than what everyone else took notice of, he was inspired to do more than he was capable of; a recipe for disaster in any human being. Despite managing to graduate from his schooling with a proper education and access to a well-paying office job, he is now stuck in a 10-year employment contract with a company that treats him unlike how one should wish to be treated.
With no idea of what to do with his life, and no goals for the future, he pressed on mindlessly for weeks, not paying any mind to his health or wellbeing - only what would come to be his dark illusion of ‘success’.
In a turn of events, Keisuke was called to his manager’s office for a discussion, the contents of which were still unknown to him at that moment. Moving through the halls and zig-zagging between his colleague’s workspaces, he made it.

“Please, take a seat Mr. Asahi.”, and so Keisuke sat.
“As of recently, your performance in work, and overall contribution to the company have come to an all-time low. We have reason to believe that you are being overworked, and that perhaps this occupation will prove to be more harmful to you than it is good. Because of this, I’m giving you the freedom to do what you want with your life from here on. You’re relieved from your duties in this office and this company, though I thank you for your work up to now.”
“B-but sir! Please... you can’t do this. This must be a mistake, I’ve been putting my job above everything else in my life.. Everything!”
“It’s not a mistake, and the decision has already been made. I apologise for the suddenness and would like to make amends in any way possible if you have a wish you would like to be granted.”
His boss stared into his eyes, though his words were not genuine. Keisuke had seen this type before. They held no care in the world for anybody besides themselves, and put money before other’s feelings.
“My only wish- my only wish is for you to suffer! Mark my words, you will suffer. I can guarantee it!”
Security begun to escort him out of the building, but he wasn’t ready to let up yet. Keisuke broke free of their grip and rushed towards the greed-filled man behind the desk, penetrating his chest with a pen. With a maniacal look on his face, he begun to laugh muttering inaudible words about how justice should be served similarly to everyone, before throwing himself through the office’s outer window. As he flailed in the sky laughing, he slowly accelerated, plummeting to the pavement below.
This is how it was meant to be.
And then, everything went dark. Everything went cold. No longer could Keisuke feel anything, nor could he see anything.
