This is it, the end of the road.Theres no need for me to remain here anymore,I've succeeded and now the future of the human race is in the hands of the current generation

Well,I may not be as significant as I think I am but I like to flatter myself that I may be Columbus to someone.I'm definitely not the first to discover space but I think I'm the first to risk all of my money to mine space rocks and to exploit the resources found in space.

I'm going to die,this is it,the final frontier.I wish I could return to tell everyone what happens after you die but dead men tell no tales 

I'm going to die alone,it's a little sad but thats it.The people I want to spend my last moments with are already gone 

The fact that I'm going to die in a house at a man made city floating in space just tells how far humanity and technology has come since the time when the cost of sending stuff to Low Earth Orbit is 3000 thousand dollars per pound

My field of vision is narrowing down,its getting darker and darker until theres only a tiny dot in the middle.But before I completely lost my vision an intense light came from above,so bright that it can probably blind you even if you closed your eyes 

Where does the light came from? I dont know and I dont care.I'm going to die any second now.Why bother

  By this time I already lost my vision but I can still feel the light,so bright that its probably several times hotter than sunlight 

Well,It looks like I wont die painlessly afteall 

Then I heard a cold,robotic AI sounding voice says:

"Scan complete"

I slowly opened my eyes and I am...still in my house

Arent I supposed to be dead.However I feel alive and more healthy than before 

What happened?

Then I remembered the electronic voice just before I "died"

 Something is definitely off

I checked my surroundings and everything is exactly where its supposed to be, Its as if I had just woke up from a nightmare.

Startled by the sudden intrusion,I immediately stood up faced the direction where the voice is coming from 

"Who are you? no let me rephrase that, what are you?"

He,It, looks like a squid.A squid with a transparent body that has wires instead of vains and is giving off violet-blue steadily pulsing light

 "Who I am is not important"

I glared at him and said 

"Yes it is, if we're to going to discuss something then I need to know who you are and what you are"

There is a silence for a moment then the robotic Cephalopod's cold,emotionless voice answered 

"We are probes made by a civilization long gone, we were programmed to strive for perfection and seed the universe with life"

Like Von Neumann Probes, machine with specific tasks,continously replicating and evolving.They probably learned how to create AI's themselves,if this is true then it is possible that their creators lost control of them leading to the most predictable movie plotline ever 

I'm interested but I should just ask the necessary questions 

"What do you need from me? "

"Out of all the planets in this galaxy we seeded with life, the carbon based life forms,your species,are the only one that passed the Great Filters"

I crossed my arms and continued to glare at the thing claiming to be part of the race responsible for life on Earth.If this is true then they are the closest thing to "God" but theres no way I'm going to worship a glowing space calamari

"That doesnt answer my question,get straight to the point"    

I know that I dont have a leverage againts this guy or his entire race but I guess I just got used to this attitude.Wimpering wont do anything good,better show them I'm the alpha here even though I'm really not.

"You are the reason why your race escaped their prison called "Earth",no a cradle shouldn't be compared to a prison.But all babies must learn to walk and leave their cradle, all chicks must break free from their eggs "

I smiled wryly and shook my head,who knows that even aliens think so highly of me?I dont really think I did anything revolutionary.I didn't really discovered anything great, I'm just a fool who think space ships are cool and someone who got conned by his father to risk everything he have so he can see his favorite movies space battle scenes come to life:Even though space battles isnt really that great, no sounds and no flashy explosions like that on Earth ,only lot of deaths.Painful deaths.Not  really that exciting if you ask me

"No,I didn't do anything.I just gave them a little push"

The glowing floating space squid looked at me and said 

"That is what a certain place needs,a little push,thats why we're sending you there"

The squid started to fade away after saying that

"Wait! I didn't agree to this yet!" 

Just before  "he" dissapeared I heard him said 

"In time,you will know your place in the grand plan of the Transendence"

The hell!

that last part sounds really ominous 

The room is also starting to dissapear, reality is receding away from my feet until only a blank white canvass remains 

Shit, I dont like being controlled like a puppet but I know that if something is too powerful to be opposed, then you should just go with the flow

If theres nothing I can do then I'd rather just sit back and enjoy  the ride.I'm supposed to be dead anyway 

Then I heard that electronic soundingvoice again 

"Scanning..." 

My conciousness is slipping away just like before,my vision is all black and I already cant hear a damn thing.

"Scan complete.Beaming information to destination to construct "Clone no.2"
