Prologue:

The world as its people know, is full of secrets untold and even though many answers remain unknown, some answers can be found in the ancient tomes which are hidden in the depths of the most challenging dungeons.

Unknown to the world’s inhabitants, The Twelve Pillar Gods aren't actually natives of the realm. Instead, they were plucked out of a raging battle amongst the ancient tribes of the Earthen Jungle with six on either side of the fight. The First god was in critical condition and he was the Will of the Planet, a planet that was practically dead after The Titans attempted to overrule the will of the world.

In order to protect the planet, the first god hurled gigantic natural disasters at the titans, in a last attempt to save the Will from them. He devastated the planet, heavily weakening himself. The First god decided that the only way he could go on, was as the Spirit of the World and not as its will.

He decided that he would let the world’s matters be left in the hand of others, not interfering unless the issues were far too large and world changing. After his decision, the Will separated his soul into halves.Keeping one half, but dividing the other half into twelve shards which he used to summon twelve individuals, and to give them enough power to become gods themselves.

The new gods made a truce in order to create human lookalikes, with the same racial name and the newfound ability to use mana. The gods carefully raised their strength to match them to the rest of the world. After the creation of humans, the truce ended, and each god began to govern the several regions of the realm.

Many races were devout to each god, and the peoples opinions on the Twelve Pillar Deities changed over and over, switching after each divine war to either see them in a positive or negative light. Now, with the passing of over five hundred years since the last Great War. The majority of those living in the Realm of Merc’s now live in peace and prosperity.
