"What's your name, kid?" I smile, "A monster called me kid." She smiles and points to the fluffiest cow I've ever seen. "This is Marigold, I'm Martha." She moos, "Hello, human!" "My name's polish, Solarik Dybas." She smiles, "What an odd name." That dog barks, "Feeling better, Sparky?" I nod and Martha waves to get my attention, "Solarik, your back is healing, but it's a deep cut. We have to take it easy." I shake my head and clench my teeth in pain, "It keeps getting colder. We need to follow the tracks." "How cold will it even get?" I raise a hand, but she cuts me off, "Why the tracks?"
"That's where the trains went." "Yeah, a bunch went by." Underneath a thick woolen hood, lies her wrinkled face. "Why didn't you evacuate?" She smiles and looks over at the cow and dog, "I just couldn't leave my babies all alone." She interlocks her hands, "But to be honest, I couldn't leave my home, it's all I have left of my husband." I frown and she taps my shoulder, "Don't be sorry for me." I wince, "I'm just glad someone's still alive out here." Bella- The dog barks, "She's upstairs, Rick." "It's not-" Whatever. I try to get up, but she stops me. "Rick, you must rest." I nod and sigh as a question pops in her head, "How are you not freezing?" I wince and snap, she jumps as my thumb catches fire. "You're one of them?" She leans in closer, "What a bright yellow your eyes are." I smile and lie back down, "Harry married such a nice woman. Thanks, Martha."
