The Americas – 1602
Sani moves to the same place on Earth she was at 100 years ago before she was so suddenly forced off of the planet. She takes everything in and feels her stomach churn. There was no chance that things would be the same after one hundred years, but she didn’t expect it to be this different. The grand pyramids are still standing, but all other monuments and buildings that once stood in the great Aztec Empire are nowhere to be seen. In their place are buildings, constructed under a whole different style of architecture, and there are several churches that resemble the ones she had seen on an entirely different continent 100 hundred years ago. She could see people who resembled the Aztecs in chains, slaving away in fields. Pale skinned guards watch over them, screaming at them to hurry up in a language she knew was not spoken here at the time of her last visit to Earth.
“What has happened?” She murmurs.
The mortals could not see her, as she did not wish it. She walks around and looks at all the changes. Soon enough she feels a strong soul, one that does not belong, somewhere nearby. She follows the pull until she sees a stern-looking young man with a mustache. He’s yelling orders at his men. It seems to be that he is the leader of some type of military group. He was one of the new people, with pale skin.
“And who might you be?” She wonders to herself.
His soul feels oddly familiar. Perhaps not the soul itself, but the slight energy it puts out does. In fact, …
She implants a thought into his head that he must return to his sleeping quarters immediately.
The man’s head soon shoots up, and he says something quickly to one of his people before rushing out of the room. Sani follows him in silent contemplation until they reach a fairly grandiose house. As soon as the man walks into his house and closes the door, he seems to snap out of it. He looks around in confusion for a moment, but quickly pulls out a pistol and points it around the room.
“Show yourself!” He yells furiously in a language unknown to Sani.
He wasn’t sure what happened exactly, but he was trained not to think lightly of these things. Someone must have controlled him.
“Calm yourself, young one.” Sani uncloaks and reveals herself to the man. She speaks in English, in the hopes that he understands.
He points his gun at her but quickly changes language. “Stay right there! Who are you? What is your purpose for being here? Why would the English be this far South?”
She raises a single eyebrow. "You picked up quickly on the control. You seem to have some experience with it… "
“Answer the question!” He yells.
“Enough!” she says sternly. The man falls to his knees quickly and drops his gun. “I’m in no mood, and I’m in a rush. I am Sani, and if you don’t calm yourself I will be quite cross.”
The man was fixed in a surprised expression after feeling himself forced to the ground under a sudden force of pressure. At least until he heard her name. At first, he thought he was facing some sort of mind controller, then she surprised him with the physical pressure. Now it all makes sense…but even then, it couldn’t be true.
“That’s not possible.” He says in disbelief. “Are you truly …are you truly the goddess herself?”
Sani looks at him in surprise. Does he know of her? That could only mean… “So that’s why your soul’s power seemed familiar. You are an Illum. A child of my creations.”

“My goddess…I’m sorry.” Although Sani relieved the pressure, he doesn’t stand up, in fact, he lowered his head in the time she had spoken. “I raised my weapon to you.”
“It’s of no consequence, just tell me what I’d like to know.”
“Yes, yes of course. I’ll tell you all.” He looks around in concern. “But we cannot do it here.”
Sani’s expression turns into one of confusion. “Do you feel unsafe? I would protect you.”
He shakes his head, “There are other beings at work my goddess. You are in danger. We must return to my tribe’s base of operations. We have outposts, but you must go to one of our main bases. The closest one is to the north of us. In a place currently occupied by England. It is of the utmost importance.”
She nods her head slowly. “Very well, I can take us there now, just think of the location.”
As soon as he thinks of the location of his tribe’s base, he sees his surroundings blend and morph into a dark hall. He recognizes it as one of the secret entry tunnels that he frequently used in his first few missions when he needed to return to report his progress to his superiors.
He turns to looks at his goddess. “Please follow me.”
She nods, “I will, but you must answer my questions.”
“Very well my goddess, but we must speak as we walk.” He starts walking quickly down the hall.
“What happened? The last time I was here the Aztecs were in control of the region.”
The man looks at her for a second and turns to look ahead as they walk. “That was a long time ago, my goddess. The Aztecs ruled that part of the Americas until Spain invaded. Then they took control and destroyed almost everything that was once part of the Aztec Empire. Then, they enslaved the Aztecs…and any other people who used to live in the region.”
“Spain…” Sani murmurs.
“It is a country that is in Europe. Many countries have invaded the Americas, and taken control. Unfortunately, after the failed operation in the Americas, we had to withdraw our people of Indigenous descent because they would be in danger and start a new plan. The peaceful introduction of the America’s to the rest of the world never happened. So the Illum sent a new group of people here to infiltrate the outposts of the European Nations. I am one of those people. I am of Spanish descent so I was one of the people chosen for the infiltration of the region of New Spain.”
“And what happened to the man who spearheaded the operation in the Aztec Empire? Montear Howahkan?”
The young man looked at her for a moment. “I think that it’d be best if you see for yourself.”
A million thoughts ran through Sani’s mind. “Did he die in the invasion of the America’s? Was he killed by the Aztecs? Did the creators of the barrier around Earth, most likely the Trinity, kill him? Is this man taking me to his grave!? What happened to their son? How did he get so far away? What happened when she was forced out of Earth?!”
Soon they start entering rooms, each one containing people of all races, ages, and backgrounds. They all seem to be in awe of her when they see her pass. Sani, even when suppressing her true power, still had an otherworldly glow about her.
Soon enough they enter a massive chamber with large columns and pillars with a red carpet leading to a huge stone table. A variety of older people sit around the table with a map right in the middle of it. On the opposite side of the room from where they entered is the largest seat, where a very old man wearing a large feathered headdress is sitting. He was looking at the map with sharp eyes but immediately looked up in surprise and disbelief. He slowly stands up with great difficulty.
The young man who escorted Sani stands at attention and salutes everyone sitting at the table.
“Grand Council…Chieftain…May I present Sani…goddess of creation.” Absolute silence falls after his words.
A bead of sweat falls down his brow. This may be above his pay grade.
“Boy, you better have a damn good reason for interrupting our meeting,” Says one of the councilmembers. “And for bringing this woman here.” The councilwoman looks at Sani with disdain. “How dare you claim she is our goddess. Your blasphemy deserves to have your tongue cut out. Is she even Illum!?”
The man turns to the Goddess nervously.
“He speaks the truth.” A strong voice rings out.
Everyone turn in surprise at the chieftain, who clearly still has some life to him, despite looking so frail.
The young man, encouraged by the chieftain’s words, turns to look at Sani. “My goddess…meet the Illum’s grand council, and our head Chieftain, Chieftain Howahkan.”
Sani’s eyes open in surprise, then tears quickly pool around her eyes before falling down her cheeks. “You mean....”
The old Chieftain gives a weary, albeit happy grin. “Yes, I am Chieftain Hototo Howahkan. Welcome back, my love.”
