“Sarah, wake up it’s time for breakfast” Mom called out from the other room.
I got up from my straw mattress and pillow filled with cloth scraps. “Coming mommy”. Quickly dressing in my favorite blue dress as it had the least amount of stains in it. I ran out of my bedroom, my feet slapping the wood beneath me.
“Breakfast is at the table dear”
I ran to the table quickly and jumped onto the stool already drooling at the thought of my moms porridge. Picking up a spoon I quickly started wolfing down the meal. “Wears dad” I said, stopping for a moment.
“He went to go get your birthday present hell be back later tonight sweety”
That's right, it's my birthday! I almost forgot due to my hunger from missing dinner last night but that means… “MOM! Can I get flowers now”.
Smiling down at me my mother took a moment to answer then gave me permission. Finished the bowl and ran out the door faintly hearing my mom telling me to be careful.
I ran through the village that I had known my entire life and into the outskirts of the forest looking for my favorite flower. They only started appearing a few years ago. They were blue and seemed to glow at night. Everyone just called them nightshades as the flower likes to hang on trees like ivy.
After the sun reached the middle of the sky I still had not found any flowers so I decided to go deeper into the forest. It took me a while but I finally found one hanging off a low branch of a small tree.
“Finally” I just had to pick then leave. I wasn't supposed to be this deep anyways but as I turned around all I saw was eyes looking back at me.

It has been three years since I was born? Transported? Anyway it's been three years since I arrived in this world not remembering what exactly happened. The last thing I remember from before this world is a Light, a wheel? And something about a TV show.
I ran from tree to tree, my monkey-like body nimble as it could be. The only sound is the wind, bugs, and the sound of my hooves hitting the branches. My white body shining through the darkness, with black eyes that encompassed my white pupils that saw through the night. As I jumped to another branch I felt my arching long ears hitting my back.
It was a silent night. Not much happened in this forest when I first arrived. I tried talking to the residents of the nearby village but none could understand my now ethereal voice. Landing on the ground my tail brushed something wet and solid.

Turning around I immediately launched myself up onto a brand seeing the body leaning against the tee blood covering its form.
Jumping down I took in the sight of the body, it was small with long tufts of hair on what reminded of its head. The blue clothing sticking to its small form ripped from some type of claws.
I shrieked and took a step back when I came to realize that the body was that of a child, a girl most likely. It wasn't even eaten, just torn up by something akin to claws.
“I see a light!!”
The yell shook me out of my shock as I finally noticed the torches coming towards me. Quickly I jumped back onto a branch but missed, as I fell a small platform of light appeared underneath my feet and I launched back off onto another branch and up into the canopy of the trees listening to the men approach.
“My God is that a body”
“Wait isn’t that..”
They didn’t need to finish as an agonizing scream was heard from one of them as he let his torch drop.
“Sarah..Sarah..Sarah” he echoed out into the night as he cradled the body in his arms.
For the first time in a few years I felt the peace within me shatter and anger took its place. I had seen this girl before, she loved to pick flowers in the outskirts of the forest. Her favorites were the ones that started springing up wherever I went, a glowing blue flower that hung on the branches of trees.
Quickly I jumped higher into the canopy waiting for them to leave. It took a few hours but the men finally dragged the man? Father? Away from the tree taking the body with him. I jumped down and found a scratched off piece of clothing. I bent down onto all four limbs and brought my catlike head closer.
I brought my nose to the cloth and started smelling the scent left on it. It smelled like dirt, blood, and something else, an animalistic smell of wet fur. I lifted my head back up and started digging, once it was three feet deep I dropped all of the remaining cloth and flesh into the hole and filled it in.
I then brought my two horn-like protrusions from my forehead near to the covered hole and as it started lighting up, a flower grew and bloomed glowing a blue light into the dark of the night. Staying a bit longer saddened by the loss of the sweet girl that had once roamed the edges of the forest only hoping to find a flower.
I spent the night running through the forest following the scent of the murderer. It took until sunrise before I realized I was running in circles and had lost the scent.
With anger and disappointment clear on my face I trudged back to my home, a large hollowed out tree with a bedding of straw and soft leaves for me to sleep on. I don’t know why but since I came to this world I lost the desire for the conveniences of modern living. It's like the empty part’s of my memory was filled in with the instincts of my current body.
I jumped into the small pond outside my home to wash off any dirt that stuck to me even though nothing ever stuck to me unless I wanted it to, my body more like solid light then flesh, a habit from my past life I assume. Then I ran up a nearby tree and picked a few small prickly fruits and ate more out of habit as my mood wasn't one for food right now. Climbing into a knot in my home tree I climbed into my homemade bed covering myself with what was there and fell asleep.
